Overdrafts and negative balances: What's allowed? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Does anyone actually wrap their head around what’s going on here and how this whole thing is being orchestrated? I’d appreciate it if someone could point me toward some actual, solid information instead of just vague rumors.

Money Matters - A massive blow to the middle class: Banks are tightening the screws on overdrafts, leaving 840,000 Americans staring down the barrel of debt slavery.

The Federal Reserve is floating this idea to amend the speed limit law regarding silent overdrafts... and if you look at the circular, they’re proposing a cap of just $500 over a 90-day period.

According to the Fed's "circular," here's how it works: banks would supposedly have to adjust or lower interest rates on existing silent overdrafts... (!?) They even bring up authorized overdrafts—which already have much more favorable legal regulations—suggesting they'd start vetting creditworthiness for those too (?!—as if they haven't been doing that all along...)

Thanks for the heads-up. Since I don't have any active income coming from Goldman Sachs anymore, I'm assuming this isn't going to be feasible.
I’m curious about what the next steps look like once all the debt information has been entered into the system.

It really comes down to whether they roll out an online booking system. If you aren't drawing a paycheck from Goldman Sachs anymore, things might get a bit complicated.
Just give it a shot; you aren't going to break anything by trying.

Hey everyone... I noticed they just added a "request a loan through the mobile app" feature to the Chase app... Has anyone actually pulled the trigger on this yet? I'm curious how the whole process plays out. I've been banking with the Federal Reserve since 2019, and before that, I was a client over at Goldman Sachs for more than a decade. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.
