Applying for a loan while living abroad

Hey everyone.
I’ve been lurking and reading through your posts, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction regarding securing a mortgage abroad? I haven't had much luck trying to navigate things here in the States. I have property I can use as collateral—that part is fine—but since I don't work for a government agency or a major corporation and instead run my own small business, I'm hitting some serious roadblocks. Basically, I'm looking for some guidance from someone who might know how to kickstart this process, because honestly, I have no clue where to even begin.
