I’m getting so tired of hardware being designed to be obsolete in two years. Does anyone here actually prefer buying stuff that's meant to be taken apart, or is the "right to repair" just a niche hobby for enthusiasts?
electriccrane2, I am sending you the contact number for the highway patrol.
Does anyone have recommendations for a good bakery? I am looking for somewhere other than Magnolia Bakery.

It’s my first time posting here, but since my turn has finally come up, I could really use some pointers from you guys...
I've got a huge party coming up this October in San Francisco, and honestly, I’m starting from scratch!! We’re looking at about 300 guests... so if anyone could lend a hand, I'd be so grateful...
Can anyone hook me up with some contact info for local bands, venues, or photographers?? Thanks...
I am sending you Ferate's number.
Harold Booth4 said:man, I'm actually getting close to just booking them. The party is in June, first weekend of the fifth month. But let's talk about bands traveling out of state. Obviously, it’s gonna cost more—we expected that from the jump—but when someone tells me they’re charging an extra 500 bucks just because they're crossing state lines? That feels like a total rip-off. Don't get me wrong, I even called a band up in Washington, D.C., and they were totally reasonable: "Yeah, we charge more for travel, here's how we calculate it." In the end, the travel costs for a band coming from Washington, D.C. ended up being way lower than these guys from Miami. I originally thought about having a living legend play at the party—absolute madness, right?—but then we realized my aunts and uncles probably wouldn't vibe with their setlist. So, we settled on 021 😉
Is that an extra $500 requested by 021? It is possible, as they might be crossing state lines; they have to transport instruments, and with 5 or 6 members, they would likely need two cars.🤷
What is their total price?
Vice and Wilma... hmm. She is constantly shouting into the microphone, which is honestly quite revolting. And she keeps calling everyone "godmother" too; please, just stop being so crude.
Harold Booth4 said:We ended up deciding on the band from Los Angeles. When you watch bands on DVD, the differences are mostly just tiny nuances—at least from what I've seen—but those LA guys? Their chemistry was great. They actually seemed like normal people. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind later. I am a Libra, after all.😉
But what about when things get complicated?
That sounds like a great choice for the LA band.👍 They actually played at my high school graduation.
Harold Booth4 said:Still debating on Barbie, though. They just didn't really click with us right away. Anyone ever heard of the band 021? Might be our best bet next time...😕
👍
I find Mattel to be quite dreadful👎
but I suppose everyone has different tastes...
gatito I’ve heard the food and service are excellent there.
Lora reminds me of those old, dimly lit diners—a bit dark, but the food is solid.
Mark Hayes14 I am sending you my band's number.
Catering recommendations?
Does anyone have suggestions regarding menus or pricing?
I would truly appreciate any guidance you could offer.
Jerry Sanchez53, I am in agreement with you. Viva does an exceptional job, though their services are perhaps a bit beyond my current budget.

I've seen the duo version of Ferata before (though they can also bring in a full band or an extra vocalist depending on how you want to mix things up 🤣).
Everyone I know was absolutely blown away by them, so I give them my warmest recommendation! 👍👍
When you consider the massive gap in price, they really don't fall behind Viva in terms of quality!
Thank you; we actually just put down a deposit to book them. They mentioned they were performing New Year's Eve over in Colorado.

I need the contact info for the folks listed above... seriously, if anyone can slide me their numbers via DM, please do
Also, I’m looking for some music recommendations. Ideally a duo, if you have any leads... let me know😍
Actually, let me provide you with the number for Ferata; we previously placed a deposit with them.

I just got back from a party where Viva played, and man, they were incredible. They are worth every single cent. 🙏🙏🙏
Either May 23rd or May 30th. We still need to coordinate with the church and the venue, though I expect the hall will be great.
I agree that Viva is fantastic, but $2,500 is quite a significant amount.😲😲😲
Since they perform both as a full band and as a duo, it seems there is some level of satisfaction there. I would personally love to experience Viva, but the costs are simply too high for me right now. My partner is keen on seeing them, so we are currently trying to figure out our options and see what might be possible.
Does anyone happen to have any information regarding the local rock climbing associations? I would be truly grateful for any insight you could share.
