Hey everyone! I’ve got a consultation this Wednesday to talk about getting crowns on both jaws—heading over to see Dr. Fauci in Buffalo at the Mall of America. Has anyone here been through something similar or have any recommendations? Best,
I had a total disaster with a tenor I hired for a church service once. He was just awful—super forced and amateurish. He ended up charging me $100, even though our initial agreement was somewhere between $200 and $100 depending on how many songs were played (plus he was playing the organ). Honestly, asking for that much right before the service started felt like such a rip-off! My husband and his buddies were just finishing up a game at his place and were supposed to swing by to pick me up—thank goodness his dad was there to lend him some cash so we weren't stuck!
How long did you guys usually have to wait for photographers to get your photos and videos back to you—and who did you end up hiring? It always felt like such a drag for me personally
What do I know about Ira? She grabbed coffee with me once and mentioned the reveries are exactly the same as they were a few years back when her sister was getting married—just those silly fabric roses, in a million different shades of pink, and nothing but roses 🤷
I already mentioned I wanted a female vocalist—what can you do, right? It is what it is. I’m going to start adding more tracks with female vocals to the repertoire, so hopefully, that does the trick. How’s your 100's coming along, by the way? P.s: It’s not Rose, it’s Rosie—the florist
Hey girls! It’s been a minute since I last checked in, so here’s a quick update: I booked the band for the music—they're such sweet guys (2) plus a girl if requested) The ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton in Savannah—the lady running the hotel is so lovely, and she’s even going to help arrange the room (included in the price), which is absolutely stunning by itself That little chapel on Manhattan Island—it's small but gorgeous, and that greenery up top is just unbeatable Makeup by A. Guč—went with your recommendations The bakery near the marina in Savannah—Mediterranean style—everyone talks them up, and they make the most unique cakes... honestly, whatever you can dream up (boats, dolphins, classics, you name it) Rose from Spinut (I think they have other locations too) Photo Studio IN out of Oakland—the photos and videos turned out amazing, really nice guys (they used to work at Mark's studio)
I'm still stuck on what to do about invitations and wax seals, though. I checked out some ribbons and seals in Boise (I think at IRA) and over at Nirs, but they were honestly pretty tacky. At Nirs, the only thing worth getting is the plastic plates and serving trays. Does anyone know where I can find prettier seals and decorations for the venue?
Kevin Kim5 said:So I finally pulled the trigger and booked Antonia Guc today. Everyone’s been raving about her—I even got a glowing recommendation from this pro makeup artist out in Chicago. If you want her number, just shoot me a DM and I'll send it over.😉
Does anyone know a decent makeup artist based in Miami who does home visits? If you have a number, maybe shoot me a DM. Also—if anyone has any leads on good hair salons...
David King72 said:important I figured I’d drop a few thoughts here.... So, I was at a banquet last night and here are my little impressions just kidding Diocletian is absolutely stunning; if you're looking to host a party for about 100 people, it's the perfect spot. The food was top-tier, the service was honestly better than I expected—they were all over the place in the best way possible, making sure our tables were perfectly set and nothing was ever missing... As for the music,it was a 100s trio consisting of two guys and one woman, though if I were planning my own event, I think I’d skip the female vocalist; they were good enough to keep the energy up, though. And of course, we had to mention the photographer and videographer, Studio In who have already received endless praise, and I can personally vouch for them too. They have this incredible way of being completely unobtrusive while still capturing every single moment—honestly, they blew me away. The floral arrangements were handled by a local florist who did an amazing job; everything from the rose vases and the main centerpieces to the bouquets, the car decor, and the church arrangements deserved a standing ovation. I think that covers it for now, but if anyone is dying for more specifics, feel free to shoot me a private message.
Regarding the 100s band, I booked them along with the female singer—what happened with her? Was she that bad?
Eric Allen4 said:I had a conversation with a guy from the Starbucks corporate office, and he seems decent enough. I also went through the DVD they provided—it’s fine. I don't really have any complaints per se, though I've never actually heard them perform live, so I can't speak to their stage presence. In the end, we decided to go with a different band instead. There you have it. 🤷
And which one did you pick, if you don't mind me asking? Was it because they were better musicians or just some connection you had?
redviper17 said:I heard some good things about Cappuccino. I actually ran into them back in October at Central Park—it was a pretty small gig, maybe only about 50 people there—and they mentioned the band put on a really beautiful set. The only thing is, they were drinking quite a bit of alcohol, and when we watched the footage later, we saw them actually grabbing a bottle of wine off someone else's table to take a swig! 🤣 Honestly, it drove me a little crazy! 😲
haha, no way, I can't believe that😂
Anyway, I grabbed some footage from a couple of people, so I’m going to sit down and watch it all tomorrow morning. My only gripe is how unbalanced the lineups felt—you've got maybe two or three people showing up for one group, while the Cappuccino crew had like six. And yeah, obviously, they charge twice as much.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on these two groups???
And who's actually going to drag Dan over there?!? He’s completely wiped out after spending his entire Saturday trekking through sales all across the state
Hey, I need some serious help here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is anyone in Bellevue or Savannah around?? I need an answer ASAP 🙂 thanks thanks thanks!
Oh, and while you're at it—does anyone know how much a standard pot of chili holds? 😕
George Flores16 said:Zachary White9, take a look at the Amigos and Diocletian crowd over in Podstrana. For a group that size, they really need an ideal venue, but those guys at Diocletian don't even start working until 5 PM.
What's the vibe at those places? I'm hoping it’s not just a typical restaurant setup since I've actually never been there. If you have a second, let me know what they're like!
Kevin Kim5 said:Look, I’m staying at the Bellevue, so if you’ve got questions, just ask.😉
Was this your top pick? What’s your score like—and when did you take the test? I really need to call tomorrow—there’s still one date open in September, and I’m low-key terrified someone else is going to snag it first. Honestly, the gym is great, just my aim isn't exactly perfect—what do I know? I always figured it would be love at first sight! 🙂
I heard they’re capping the guest list at 90 for the Grasha wedding—apparently once you hit 100, it starts feeling way too crowded, right? Plus, our future best man is getting married over at the Anchovy spot, so my guy wouldn't want to crash that. It feels a bit silly for me to head to the Pirate, too—I feel like I’m basically living there, grabbing a bite every couple of months or so. Do you know much about the Bellevue area in Savannah, or maybe somewhere else in Split? Honestly, I'm a little stressed out trying to plan this—I'm looking at dates around September. 😢
