Mark Cook8, you honestly crack me up... I mean, isn't this supposed to be a place where we share actual experiences? For heaven's sake, I personally accompanied a friend to her surgery, so I know exactly what her nose looked like before and how it looks now. From the front, it’s passable, but the profile is a total zero.

I'm not gossiping; I'm simply reporting what I know firsthand. I'm not making anything up, and everything I wrote regarding Dr. Miller is the truth, unfortunately.
I also made it clear that I was satisfied with my own results and still am.
However, after witnessing a few of his recent misses, I just can't bring myself to recommend him to anyone anymore.
Look, if someone really wants to book him, go right ahead, but I felt obligated to share my perspective with these ladies. I'm speaking from my own shoes—if I were planning a procedure, I'd want to know every possible detail about my surgeon, and I assume other women feel the same way.

And for the record, his entire staff is wonderful; I've already given them credit. As for Miller himself, he's fine—I actually appreciated how he reassured me and told me not to worry, but his one major flaw is that he thinks every other doctor in the field is incompetent.

Anyway, cheers everyone. I'm stepping away from this thread because I have zero interest in getting into a back-and-forth argument. Good luck to everyone!
I did, thank God, and I feel like I actually got lucky in the end.
Everything was fine with my own procedure, and personally, I didn't have a single complaint. However, two girls who went after me were definitely not so fortunate.
Dr. Glušac gets featured in the local papers—you know, those major metropolitan dailies everyone in town reads—and of course, he’s all over the page, acting like he's the absolute best and spends his time fixing everyone else's mistakes. Meanwhile, one girl he treated had to go back to a clinic in San Francisco for a corrective procedure, and the other is looking for a new surgeon right now because she doesn't even know who to trust. That's just what I know, since I'm close with both of them.

But here is the part that truly shocked me... I want to reiterate that I personally had zero issues or grievances, but how can a doctor who claims to be the finest in the entire United States—someone who acts like nobody is ever good enough for him (those who have been in his chair will know exactly what I mean)—make a mistake that even a complete novice shouldn't make? And that mistake is forgetting to remove the gauze from the nose after surgery
The poor girl had gauze stuck in her nose for two whole weeks. She's on antibiotics now, and things should eventually be okay, but she is absolutely traumatized.

So, how on earth am I supposed to praise this doctor now?? I used to, but there is no way in hell I would recommend him to anyone ever again. My own experience was great, so I had originally planned to go back to him for a little lip filler—he already gave me the quote and told me what needed to be done—but forget it. There is no way I'm going back to him, not even if he offered to do it for free!

Hey everyone! I've already booked my venue and the DJ for a few months now (Kokolo and Viva), but now I'm stuck on the photographer... I'm torn between Lisjak, Studim in, Teklić, or Photo Delta.
I could really use some advice here..

Raymond Brooks7, you went with Lisjak... how did your photos turn out? Everyone seems to rave about him, and looking at his website, I definitely like his style, but I feel like I'm missing a bit of imagination—you know, things like shots within shots or extra focus on details. His work feels more "fine art," whereas I'd love someone who plays around with the images a bit more through Photoshop editing.
How were yours, and which package did you end up getting??

I was reading some random American health site that said you should avoid anything that raises your blood pressure for 3 to 4 weeks, and they listed sex as one of those things... so does that mean I still shouldn't be having sex??!😕

Oh, give me a break!!! You'll be totally fine... I honestly thought my nose was going to start throbbing, but nope... you can go ahead. I just meant don't keep your head hanging down (you'll end up bruising your nose if you're looking at the floor). 🙂 🙂

lonemason10 said:Yeah, everyone seems to have a different take on it... Look, my surgeon is a bit eccentric. Most of his patients come to him because they already have totally botched noses from previous procedures, so he spends most of his time fixing other people's massive mistakes. But honestly, you've gotta hand it to him—I've never met anyone who talks about noses with such genuine passion. To him, every single nose is like a masterpiece.🙏

In my opinion, it's best to just stick to what our own doctors recommended, even if their advice differs from others. That being said, that paraffin oil is meant to prevent internal scabbing; it isn't a traditional nasal spray, so it shouldn't cause any harm.

Which doctor did you end up seeing? And are you scheduled for a cleaning yet? Oh man, those are painful... yikes.😱

"every single nose is like a masterpiece" 🤣🤣🤣That’s exactly how I felt too, but trust me—he’s really not that great.

Don't stress too much about the swelling. It’s just part of the process... I was dealing with swelling for an entire month—honestly, nobody else even noticed, but I certainly did. I'm approaching the three-month mark post-op now, and everything looks fantastic; I think I've finally hit my stride. Some people need a full six months before their nose settles back to normal. It really varies from person to person.

Regarding nasal massages, please, for the love of god, do NOT attempt that unless your surgeon specifically instructed you to!!!
As far as I'm aware, those specific techniques are only used at Dr. Glušac's office. The whole point is to help the skin adhere to the bone more effectively and quickly. That's how you get the swelling to subside faster.

A friend of mine smoked her very last cigarette just two hours before she went under for surgery! Nothing bad happened to her, and honestly, nobody should be playing fast and loose like that.
I mean, just ask any surgeon about how long you're supposed to hold off on smoking after a procedure—I don't have the exact timeline memorized. But I'm pretty sure it slows down the healing process. 🤷 I'm not entirely certain, though.

jadecrane3 said:At Dr. Miller's clinic, I paid 1,700 dollars... I have a quick question for anyone who has actually gone through this surgery—so, now that I'm changing my splints, I can see the base of my nose (where the nostrils start), and that lower area looks kind of pulled tight. It feels like my nasal tip is turned up way too high, which is exactly what I told the surgeon I didn't want... Now I'm starting to worry. Is it just the splint doing that? Like, once the mold is finally taken off, will the tip settle down a bit? What do you guys think??

Don't stress about it; it’s bound to be lifted right now. It’ll settle down eventually!

steelmoose71 said:I just had surgery on my nose—specifically the tip... about two weeks ago...
They didn't touch the bone, just the fleshy part of the tip.
Has anyone else gone through this kind of procedure?

I haven't done it myself, nor do I know anyone who’s had nothing but a tip job. Honestly, though, I'm curious how you're holding up... what kind of anesthesia did they use, did you need any IV fluids, and is the swelling localized just at the tip or is your whole nose puffed up??
Please, share your experience with us. 😁 ☕☕ 😁

I feel like—and I’m asking this while being a little worked up because I’m always the one right here whenever someone needs a hand, not to mention all those exhaustive posts I wrote after surgery just to help people who were feeling as lost as I once was—that nobody is even capable of giving me an answer. Honestly, I think you guys are being pretty unfair.👎

legend !!! 😍😍😍😍
That's exactly how it should be! Shame on us!!

Rebecca Scott said:Raymond Wells2 and steelangler88 - which surgeon did you guys go to?
I'm dealing with the exact same issues as you both😢. It’s been nearly 8 months since my surgery and absolutely nothing has improved🙂

Honestly, I don't think anything is going to change for you. After about 6 months, the nose just settles back into its original shape. That’s just how it stays.😕😕

Raymond Wells2 and steelangler88, you guys haven't been out of surgery as long as I have. Try pressing on that bone with your fingers—it's off to the side, so just run your finger along it (downwards)
Try doing that 5 or 6 times a day and see if that little bump shrinks even a tiny bit after a few days.

That’s just my two cents...🤷

I also suspect it’s just a bony callus where the bone is healing. I had a small bump on the right side myself; you couldn't see it, but I could definitely feel it under my finger. My doctor told me it was just the fracture site knitting back together and that I should just massage my nose with my fingers... and that worked, because my bump is gone now (I noticed mine a month after the procedure, but it's been two and a half months now and it's completely vanished)

Ladies, that's my suggestion. If anyone else has ideas, please chime in!!
If you notice that the bump isn't getting any smaller, you might need to go back to that surgeon and have them shave it down.
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
Raymond Sanchez7, you should try massaging your nose every single day, specifically right where that bump is located. Try to push it inward... just a few times a day. Honestly, I feel like physically pushing that bump back in with your fingers would be way more effective for you than some kind of light therapy..

I'm curious to hear what the rest of you think about this??

rustygull7 said:Glumičić fixed my nose too, and honestly, he did an amazing job!!! Look, I’m not some celebrity or anything, but I assume the people talking trash about him are just folks who have never actually sat in his office or know anyone who has undergone surgery with him. That bad reputation mostly exists because a few other surgeons publicly called him out in the newspapers for performing body procedures when he actually specializes in head and neck surgery.

I'm not trying to be negative toward anyone—but think about it, if he hadn't done such a great job on Blanka, he would have faced a lot of bad publicity..
I know a girl who went to see Glumičić 😁
He’s definitely the most famous one, and sure, there were a few mistakes that became public knowledge, but I honestly believe there are plenty of other doctors out there making way worse errors that nobody ever hears about... still... if he were actually a bad surgeon, there's no way he'd be as busy as he is.

Anyway, I'm really glad you're happy with the results! 👍

Sorry, I started rambling again.. 🤣 bye

It's been five months since my surgery, and am I satisfied?
Even after all that initial praise for Boriću-nisam!
A few months ago, this little bump started appearing on my nose. It looks like a subcutaneous pimple, and even though I've already gone back to him several times for those sessions with that crappy little light device, it's shrunk slightly, but it's still there.
It's awful!
It’s not like it’s glaringly obvious or looks hideous, but if I’m going to shell out 10 $0.00, I was hoping for a flawless result.
In the end, he didn't give me the nose I actually wanted, and now I've got this extra issue on top of it.
I mean, the nose sits nicely with my face and all, but it really bugs me that he didn't stick to what I asked for.
So, they tell me I have to wait a full year and keep going to these "light treatments," but I can't wrap my head around throwing more $667 at these "procedures."
I have no idea what to do about this bump... I definitely don't see myself coughing up more cash for another surgery.
I'll just wait and see how it looks in a few months, then maybe try something else or find someone else to get rid of it.
I just knew some bullshit like this would happen to me.
Does anyone have any advice?

Can you explain what this "light treatment" actually is and what it's supposed to do?

p.s. Blanka Vlašić had to deliver a perfect nose without any errors because she's his walking advertisement, and he knows Blanka is constantly under the public microscope.

cosmicjackal10 said:I went in for a consultation with Dr. Klapan,,,,,,,, $100,,,,, in three words.
The most expensive $100 for 3 minutes of my life. 😠
So now what am I supposed to think about him? Is he just an overly brilliant doctor who sees everything at a glance
and therefore knows his job perfectly, or is he just too arrogant to
give a patient even 15 minutes of actual attention or answer a few basic questions.
At the end of the day, we are talking about a face here.

Here is those three minutes summarized: "HELLO." Then, "You need a rhinoplasty plus a septoplasty."
To get a computer simulation done, I have to pay $0.50, and until that simulation is finished, he won't even
tell me the price. 🤷 And oh yeah, regardless of how much it costs, you pay in cash; 😲 no credit cards allowed.

GOODBYE.

- maybe it is better to do the computer simulation just to see the final result.
But having to create it, pay $0.50,, and only then negotiate the price,,,,,,,,,,,, brrrrrr,,,,, and strictly cash,,,,,,,,,, grrrrrrrr.

1: I can't believe you were only with him for 3 minutes. That was your first meeting! He’s supposed to examine you, ask how you breathe, sketch out what he would do, listen to your preferences, and let you ask questions... When I went for my first appointment, I stayed for an hour and a half. Yeah, it was a while, but the time flew by... (Small detail—I was the last patient of the day at 8 PM).

2: Whatever you do, do NOT do the computer simulation. It is absolutely a waste of money. It's shameful that they charge for it per $500.
I agree with May, a doctor can't guarantee your nose will look exactly like the image.

3: The doctor knows the price, because they charge almost everyone the same thing... If he won't tell you, it means he's trying to squeeze more out of you.
He doesn't necessarily have to give you a quote over the phone—some doctors hate doing that—but for heaven's sake, why go for a consultation if not to see what he can do for your nose and find out the cost...

Go see someone else. Read through the old posts and check out the advice from others... there are plenty of more decent doctors in a major city like Chicago—doctors who actually care about their patients.

Amanda Ramirez42 said:Thanks, Gregory Doyle34. Could you tell me roughly how long it took for your nose to settle down into something looking actually normal? Right now, my situation feels pretty rough. They corrected my hump in the middle, but they also cut the muscle under my lip area, and everything just feels incredibly tight—it’s actually a bit painful. On top of that, my whole nose looks bizarre; there's this weird protrusion at the base of the cartilage near my nostrils that definitely wasn't there before the surgery. To be honest, it looks like they dug out too much from the center, making that part stick out way too far. Anyway, I didn't even notice anything was off until they removed the splint a few days later. Now, it honestly looks worse than it did before the procedure—like my nose is twice as thick as it used to be. The worst part is that it doesn't feel soft to the touch, so I can't even comfort myself by thinking it's just swelling. I don't even know if bone is supposed to swell like this. If it stays this way, I'm going to have to look into thinning it out and leveling it back down.😠😢 I am absolutely losing my mind over my face right now. I’ve got a follow-up appointment in two weeks, but the wait is killing me. If anyone has some kind of words of wisdom to calm my nerves—or if you can actually explain what on earth is happening with my nose that’s driving me this insane—please, please, please help me out.

Raymond Wells2, look, it’s only been 15 days. It is completely normal for your nose to be swollen at this stage. For me, it took about two months before the swelling really started to subside. I still have a little bit of puffiness right at the tip, though.
Patience, patience...

Don't get worked up about how you look right now; you just have to accept that this is part of the process. Personally, after they took my casts off, the right side of my nose was way more swollen than the left—and that lasted for a solid month. Then, suddenly, the tip on the left side would be more swollen than the right. It’s all a mess for a while, but trust me, it settles down. That's why mine looks great now.

Don't sweat it; everything will be settled soon enough.

Amanda Ramirez42 said:Help! It's been 15 days since my surgery and I still have stitches poking out of my nose, and they feel pretty stiff. When on earth are they going to start falling out??????????????????????????????????????????? ???????

Those stitches should just fall out on their own; please don't mess with them. I had one that was sticking out of my nose too, and I kept trying to push it back in. I think mine finally came out around the 20-day mark. It actually took me a full two months before all the stitches were gone—I basically just blew them out.

Of course, I wasn't about to just sit there and stay quiet about it either... what you're describing is enhanced local anesthesia. You just drift off and don't feel a thing. It’s honestly much better than general anesthesia because you aren't left feeling drugged out for hours afterward, dealing with all that nausea and vomiting. Just wait, it’s great—I fell asleep, had some vivid dreams, and woke up feeling like it was all over in an instant. In my opinion, most surgeons in the US are already using this kind of enhanced local block.
