Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Listen, fallen star,
since you’re juggling pregnancy and finishing up school at the same time, you really need to just hire a wedding planner if there is any way you can swing it.
It’ll save you a massive amount of time and honestly, just spare you from the kind of soul-crushing stress that you absolutely do not need right now.
Besides, why even rush—why not just wait and have the wedding after the baby is born?

Hey everyone, so since we’ve finally decided to actually tie the knot and need some serious help, I’m starting this thread.
We're planning on keeping things pretty low-key with maybe 30 to 40 guests, so we really need some pointers on finding a cozy little restaurant in Charleston or somewhere nearby.
Also, if anyone has a killer photographer recommendation, please let me know!
Cheers

Arthur Ramos said:If you ask me, that's hands down the best venue in the area for a reception. Their coordination is top-tier, the flow of the party itself is perfect, the staff actually does their jobs, and the food? Seriously great.👍, obviously I'm talking about Bullin

I totally agree that everything mentioned is fantastic, but I've got two gripes: it's a bit far from downtown and the venue itself lacks any kind of character. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but I heard they still haven't added things like curtains, greenery, or those little decorative touches. The space feels a bit hollow to me, and the lighting situation is just poorly handled. At the wedding we attended, we actually asked the waiter to dim the lights a little, and he ended up turning half of them off! They didn't even have a dimmer switch 😕.
Those little gaps could be fixed with some decor, but it's such a shame the architecture doesn't offer much to work with either.
What really confuses me is that his wife runs an upscale boutique for wedding dresses and does interior design too... so she clearly has the vision, it's not like she lacks creativity 😕

But again, I have to emphasize that all those tiny flaws are more than made up for by the stellar service and how friendly the staff is.
I mean, if you hire Leo, you might as well just grab his cameraman too, and honestly, if you go with Stanley, you’re probably going to end up hiring his guy as well... that’s just how most of these girls operate.

I get what you mean, though I think Stanley is actually the better deal because you get an unlimited number of shots for the same price, whereas Leo puts limits on everything. Though, I have to admit, the lady over at Lida is an incredible photographer.

Pink Butterfly, where are you even planning on having your wedding? We're still in the middle of negotiating everything right now, and since my fiancé and I have been tossing around a few different ideas, we might skip San Francisco entirely.🙂
But I won't say for sure until I'm absolutely certain.
So, I finally sorted out the cake situation 🙂 I found this girl who’s going to handle it, and honestly, the price is pretty reasonable and she’s actually willing to make it exactly how I want. Now I just need to nail down the band...
I was checking out some photos from the gigs in Lida and Stojan, and they look great—plus, the price difference is basically peanuts.
As for the videographer, I’m still totally clueless. Negotiations are ongoing, so I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
Has anyone here ever heard of the band Horizon?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been lurking on this forum forever, but I finally reached my breaking point and decided I actually need to join the conversation.
Basically, we’re pulling this whole wedding together at the absolute last minute because of some pretty happy news 🙂. We’ve only got three months left, and honestly, we’ve checked almost everything off the list except for finding a band and getting the dessert sorted out.
Does anyone know a killer live band in San Francisco?
Also, where can I go to order a cake? I have a very specific vision in mind, but I’d love to hear what you guys recommend before I dive in.
