Hmm, I’m not really feeling these easter eggs—they feel a bit forced, almost like they were slapped into the movie just to say, "Hey, look, it’s all connected," because the actual plot fails to provide any internal logic.

I would have preferred if the character actually fleshed out the narrative connections (if that's even possible here), but instead, I basically just ended up saying, "Well, I don't know, maybe these are three different universes, maybe they aren't, who knows," and "events in one universe might bleed into others, so maybe this happened there or didn't happen here, but who can tell." Honestly, I don't think it's right that after three films, people still have no clue where we are in the timeline or which universe we're even looking at (considering we have three movies and potentially three separate universes at this point).

I watched both of them yesterday—this one and Cloverfield Lane. As far as I can tell, neither of them were actually built as sequels to the original Cloverfield; they just feel like random movies or scripts that had a few extra scenes tacked on at the last minute just to force them into this universe... and honestly, you can really see the seams showing.

This whole movie is just a pile of illogical—and frankly unnecessary—plot points and sequences. I’m genuinely left scratching my head over what happened with the monsters, and I still can't figure out if this thing is supposed to be a prequel, a sequel, or some weird parallel universe story compared to the original.
