So, what's the deal with Pirate in San Francisco over in Brooklyn? I mean, I know the dining room looks pretty killer, but how's the actual food? They're asking $45 per person for an "all-you-can-eat" deal that includes drinks—wine, beer, soda, all that stuff—and the food itself...

I was there for a party back in June. The atmosphere is lovely, but the food didn't really hit the mark for me. For that price point, it wasn't anything special..

My fiancé and I are planning our wedding for next year out in Sedona. The problem is, I’m from the East Coast and I’ve honestly only been out there maybe three times for a few days at most, so I am completely lost. On top of that, he’s being... well, a typical guy, totally indifferent because he thinks it's all the same regardless of where we do it. Please, I need recommendations for absolutely everything: a venue, a band, a photographer and videographer, a florist, hair and makeup artists from that area, and even a hotel since I have to find somewhere to put all my guests. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Check out The Venetian—they have guest rooms available and handle catering...
as does The Waldorf Astoria. For dining, there's Ruth's Chris Steak House; here is a link where you can see a few photos:

Where can I pick up some car bowties quickly in San Francisco? I checked at IBM but they didn't have any, and maybe at the IRA, but they aren't open in the afternoon so it's a bit inconvenient to head over there...

Kevin Baker2 said:They mostly went with people's recommendations, but those groups were usually around 150 to 200 people. I don't think they were in the area. Thanks for the tip—it looks great at first glance. Just let me know if you remember anything else.😉

You might want to look into The Park Hotel near Miami Beach as well. They have a lovely garden area, and there's indoor space if the weather doesn't cooperate...

Kevin Baker2 said:Here's my take: I’d love something outdoors (maybe a terrace?), though I am a little worried about how loud the music might be. 🤷

Initially, a modern restaurant sounds perfect... but if you know a charming little place with great traditional food, I'd definitely consider it. 😁

Price isn't our main concern right now.

My parents were actually in San Francisco a few days ago looking at venues, but everyone turned us down because our guest list is too small and they didn't think it was worth their while. 😢 So, if you have any leads, let me know!

My recommendation is Adriatic Grašo. It's right by the water, modern, and a beautiful restaurant. I am not sure if your parents visited them, but I don't think the guest count should be an issue since it isn't an oversized venue. We used to organize our corporate Christmas dinners there; they have a terrace where you can set everything up exactly how you want. They offer both seafood and meat menus, though I am not certain about the pricing.🤷
Here is the link to their website so you can call and inquire.http://www.adriatic-graso.com/
If I think of anyone else, I will let you know.

Kevin Baker2 said:I have a quick question and was hoping you all could help me out. I’m planning a wedding in San Francisco for next year. We’re keeping it small—around 40 people, just immediate family and close friends—so I’m looking for recommendations for a smaller restaurant. It seems like most of the talk here is about massive wedding halls, which are way too big for our needs.

Unfortunately, I'm not currently in San Francisco, so I can't just drop by places to check them out, and I don't have anyone local to scout locations for me. If anyone has some good suggestions, I’d really appreciate it. It would help me narrow down my search significantly.

To help narrow this down, what kind of budget are you working with? Also, regarding the menu, are you leaning toward seafood or meat? Would you prefer a modern restaurant with contemporary cooking styles, or something else entirely? Finally, are you looking for an indoor venue or something more open-air, like a garden setting?

Anonymous said:So, which of those prices are actually for the Hotel Consul? 🙂
Come on, just break them down clearly for us so if anyone else is interested, they can easily find 😘

Here is the breakdown:
Ballet School - $20 excludes drinks
Pimpinela - $23 excludes drinks (regardless of the menu) + $83 per waiter
Hotel Consul - approx.$27 per person (includes prosciutto and cheese, appetizers, salads, risotto)
- welcome cocktail option $7.75 per person
- option for their own drinks where you only pay for what was consumed at
wholesale prices
- they also provide kegged beer in 20-liter kegs = $83
Arkada = $17 for a classic menu with prosciutto, cheese, and deli meats, excluding drinks
= $40 buffet with 10 different dishes
= $15 per person for their drinks
Restaurant Rus - $23 per person excluding drinks

There you go. I hope this helps some people; we haven't decided on a venue yet.🤷
If anything is incorrect, please feel free to correct me.🙄

Unless I misunderstood how they handle things at Arkada, maybe they gave me a price that already included the drink?😕

Anonymous said:Hey, those prices you mentioned—was that just for the entree or entree plus pizza?! Because Bogdanovic told me it's 40-50 for the entree plus $15 for pizza per person. If it's their own pizza, fine, but if it's our local pizza, then we're looking at $6.75 per person for the service fee?! 🤷

I'm open to unofficial options too; just send me the contact info via private message.😁

Lawrence Wells said:Check out Pimpinell. The food is incredible—I actually used them for catering for 40 people $800 plus 2 servers $167.

Thanks. I actually called them this morning, and they quoted me $23 per serving + $83 per server. It seems they've raised their prices $3.25, but I really like their menu selection👍
I'm going to do a bit more research...
So far, I've contacted Russ, Hotel Consul, Arkada, and the Ballet School. The pricing varies quite a bit—around 60, 70, $27... Since I haven't worked with any of them before, it's difficult to make a decision.🤷
