I was thinking about this the other day while watching the news, and it honestly feels like the dynamic between us and our neighbors to the south has shifted into something unrecognizable. For a long time, it felt like we were just part of the background noise—the quiet neighbor that everyone assumed was just "there." But now, it feels like the attention we're getting is less about partnership and more about being a target.

It’s a weirdly uncomfortable position to be in. On one hand, you always want to be noticed, but when the attention is aggressive or transactional, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I remember when we used to talk about how much we relied on certain trade agreements or shared stability, but lately, it feels like that mutual respect is being replaced by a "do what we say or else" mentality.

It’s hard to stay the "polite neighbor" when you feel like you're being backed into a corner. If you cave, you look weak to your own people, but if you stand your ground, you risk making things even more heated. It feels like we're walking a tightrope where every move we make is being watched by someone looking for an excuse to push harder.

Do you think there's a way to maintain a decent relationship when one side stops playing by the old rules, or is a total fallout inevitable at this point?
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Hi ladies,🙂 My partner and I are planning our wedding for October 9th, 2010, and interestingly enough, my name is also Lucia 🙂))) However, since I am not living here in the States, organizing everything from a distance feels like an uphill battle. Could anyone tell me if confirmation is required for the ceremony? I have my baptism completed, and while it isn't a requirement back home, I worry it might complicate things here. Also, does anyone have experience with the specific paperwork needed when an American marries a foreign national?🙂
