Afghanistan - Megathread in World ·
velvetmarlin24 said:The reason is that September 11th wasn't just an attack on the USA; it was an attack on the entire Western world and everything it stands for. (Though I noticed despite the anti-American sentiment, everyone still uses the US date format here... whatever.)
If I remember correctly, there was also a day of mourning for the Tsunami victims...

An attack on the whole Western world? Please. The USA basically birthed Al-Qaeda. Besides, they pulled down those towers themselves. Why hasn't a single scrap of aircraft debris from the plane that hit the Pentagon ever surfaced? Where's the footage showing a plane actually slamming into the Pentagon? The Pentagon is easily one of the most secure buildings on the planet. You know which building has the highest concentration of surveillance cameras in existence? I'll give you a hint: the PENTAGON! Seriously, why on earth is there zero video evidence of a plane hitting the Pentagon?

Spot on. Looking back at everything, I don't think anything about the USA would ever truly surprise me anymore—honestly, if they decided to hit Saudi Arabia just to secure the oil, I wouldn't blink. They could claim it was because a Saudi Arabian looked at an American the wrong way, and most of the world wouldn't even bat an eye. In fact, some people would probably jump out of the woodwork just to accuse me of pushing a conspiracy theory. 🤣

Who put Hussein in power and handed him the weapons in the first place? Got the point!

They'll be forced to pull out with nothing to show for it. There isn't any oil or natural resources there, yet they're burning through billions of dollars just to maintain a military presence. 👎

Which is exactly why there is oil in Iraq.👎

The reality is that 22 people were killed during that coalition strike, and only one woman and one child were among them. I have no idea where the person pushing this narrative gets the claim of 19 women and children from. The truth is that the casualties in this attack were terrorists who had spent earlier that day raining grenades down on coalition forces. No civilians were lost—just despicable terrorists.

I mean, seriously? When someone can look at 22 civilians being killed at a wedding and call it "collateral damage," and then follow it up with some sociopathic comment about how "there will be more born by 2050"?

It’s sick minds like these that drive everything we see happening today

Which is exactly why I felt the need to say something

It feels like the life of one person in Afghanistan is worth less than a dog in the West!

Over here, if a pet dies, people are mourning and grieving for months on end.
But when they hear on the news that 22 innocent Afghans were slaughtered in the middle of a celebration—at a wedding, for God's sake—they just brush it off as collateral damage. To them, it's just another mundane statistic to digest over morning coffee.☕

If something like this happened to American citizens, the entire world would be in an uproar.
And don't even get me started on what the reaction would be if this had happened to Jewish people.

But no, when it happens to people in Afghanistan, Iraq, or Africa, it's all just "collateral damage."

Thinking back to 9/11 makes me sick—how there was a minute of silence at every soccer match in Europe, how the entire world was in mourning. What about Srebrenica? Or the Tsunami that killed over 200,000? Apparently, we only care about mourning a few foolish Americans.
