That weird sensation that only lasts a few minutes
in Psychology ·
I guess I should probably "brag" about how, back when I was just a kid, I’d constantly get hit with this weird sensation right as I was drifting off to sleep... this strange perception of how big things are or how close they are to me...
It’s exactly like... for a split second, everything looks massive, and then it shrinks instantly... and it feels like I’m momentarily hovering high above everything before I "snap back"...
Man, if there’s more of us out there... then maybe we aren't actually broken...
But, on a side note, does anyone else get this? Like, when it’s a sunny day and you’re looking at sunlight filtering through tree branches—so it’s hitting you in these intermittent patches—suddenly you just lose all sense of where you are... and you start seeing these frames, like scenes from a movie... disjointed images that have absolutely nothing to do with what’s actually happening around you... and it keeps happening as long as the light is being blocked by something instead of hitting you directly...
In those moments, I get this feeling like some kind of seizure is about to start, but it usually passes quickly as soon as I close my eyes...
I don't know if that even makes any sense... but it's definitely not a pleasant way to feel...
