I guess you might have taken that the wrong way too, because I mean, we can definitely influence certain things in our lives, but maybe those major, life-altering moments are driven by some higher power, no matter how hard we try. I suppose that makes more sense regarding what I was getting at. Like, we can definitely shape our own paths and handle all sorts of situations, but there are probably some key turning points where we just don't have any control. 😲

little_devil look, I don't know, maybe you could just enlighten me then. Honestly, your last two posts feel kind of contradictory to me. I’m way too tired right now to really sit here and break things down for you since you aren't exactly caught up on everything. Even if you think there isn't some higher power governing natural perfection, I guess I wonder why you're even trying to explain stuff to me that seems totally obvious on my end. Like, sure, all that might be true, but I still believe in a higher power, and I'll probably try to explain the specifics to you whenever I actually have more time... maybe then it'll finally click for you. 😉

man, i guess you've got it totally backwards☕ could you maybe try explaining what he actually meant by that?

someone who watches over every single one of us😉

Alright, alright... you guys seem pretty set in your ways, so whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their own take on things, I suppose. Just keep in mind that while we might feel like we're calling the shots, maybe we're actually just following someone else's lead.

Sean Moore9 said:It’s all in the brain. There is no soul. An aura exists, but it isn't some spiritual essence unique to humans or other living beings; any body warmer than absolute zero has one, including a rock.
The brain contains centers for senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, balance—and centers for instincts like reproduction, hunger, and thirst. That same center handles emotions like love, hate, and aggression, as well as intuition. Then there are the centers for short-term and long-term memory, speech, and reasoning. All these centers together create consciousness. I saw a documentary about a medical case where they had to split a woman's cerebral hemispheres due to a tumor, and now she functions as two separate people in one body.

PS. It's a fact that some of the greatest evils in history were committed by believers. Every mobster is a devout believer who attends mass regularly. Crusaders were devout believers, and countless people were burned by inquisitors because they followed different faiths or different gods. They accused people of flying on broomsticks or being witches and burned them at the stake. They burned scientists simply because they disagreed with religious dogma—like when they insisted the Earth was a flat plate at the center of the universe with the sun revolving around it, rather than a sphere revolving around the sun. Look at what religious extremists are doing today.

Okay, thanks for that super deep and enlightened explanation. Since you're clearly such a genius, maybe you could try answering a few more things for me: where did humans actually come from? I'm sure you're gonna say evolution... But okay, then explain how any living thing on Earth started, or where the Earth or the entire universe even came from. You eventually have to hit a point that you just can't explain, and what happens then?🤷

Jason Sanchez3 said:Hello? Do you even know what percentage of our brains we actually use?

Well, I guess it really just depends on how you look at things, 🤣
I mean, I'm talking about the spirit inhabiting a body here, and you're over there bringing up brain capacity percentages... 🤷 Maybe try reading the post more carefully before asking stuff like that 😉

I mean, if you’re counting people who go out of their way to be malicious and unjust as believers, then I guess I really don't know if you actually get the difference between a believer and an atheist.
We aren't exactly putting on a show for anyone by going to church; it's more about just showing gratitude for everything we've been given and praying for good things to happen.
Seriously, is your brain even turned on right now??? Like, do you honestly believe there's a spirit within a person or some kind of aura? If you think it's all just brain chemistry, how do you explain things like intuition or other weird states of being?

mrgixyz said:if God is actually as good as people claim, then I guess it shouldn't matter that I didn't believe, because I haven't gone out of my way to hurt anyone or commit any injustices like a lot of religious folks do. and honestly, what kind of "good" being expects us to act like toys just to entertain him by going to church and praying? if that's the case, he probably won't send me to hell, and maybe he'll even be glad I wasn't such a selfish, wicked person👍
but since all this stuff is basically just inventions from priests, gurus, shamans, or just hallucinations from prophets—like Moses, who I guess probably ate some hallucinogenic cacti on Mount Sinai and saw a talking bush—then it pretty much means when I die, my brain just shuts off and I cease to exist, period.

I mean, if you're counting people who do evil and injustice as believers, then I guess you might not really know the difference between a believer and an atheist?
We aren't trying to entertain anyone by going to church; we're just showing gratitude for everything we've been given and asking for guidance.
Wait, did you say your brain just turns off??? Do you actually believe in the human spirit or things like an aura? If you think it's strictly just brain function, how do you explain intuition or those other deep states of being?

I mean, I’m always all for people focusing on their own personal growth and doing their own thing. But honestly, what can you even do about someone who just doesn't have any moral compass and keeps messing everything up? Like, they just don't give a damn about anyone else, and they really don't care if they hurt people or leave a total mess in their wake.🤷

What would I get?
I try to be a good person... just a decent human being... what more could I need?

Honestly, what's the point of living in a church and praying 24/7 if you lack empathy or don't care when you hurt people? Pffft.

Well, I wasn't really talking about what you should do specifically, but I guess the point is that the people who pray are gaining something, whereas those who don't are just staying neutral, so maybe you see why one side seems better.

And regarding that other thing, I suppose maybe that person who keeps acting out might eventually have something sink in and reach their soul, so they might actually stop the nonsense and become a more moral person. 🙄

Kenneth Parker said:And what about the massive amount of people who didn't experience a miraculous healing? Did they just not pray hard enough, or was their faith lacking?

I mean, I personally think it’s worth trying everything, and I really do believe it helps some people... because if someone doesn't even try, they might miss out on something that could actually work, so I guess those who haven't seen a miracle yet probably just need to keep searching since there's likely a cure for everything out there if you can just find it. 😉

Sean Moore9 said:I don't care how your "spiritual" journey started. Everything those gurus, shamans, Dalai Lamas, imams, and priests told you is nothing but lies and brainwashing.☕☕☕

So, I guess my question for you is this: what are you actually going to do if the people who believe and pray end up being right? Like, the folks who believe in God and spend their time praying—they aren't really losing anything, they can only gain something, right? But what happens to you guys who don't believe? And, I mean, how do you explain it when certain people who have basically lost their minds after doing specific religious rituals suddenly become totally normal again and can't even remember that whole period where they were under that influence—you know, from evil forces or some kind of spirit waking up inside them??😕
