John Ramirez10 said:help!!! does anyone know where I can rent a limo in Chicago or somewhere nearby? I checked out those luxury rentals over by the suburbs, but they’re way out of my budget. I was wondering if there are any other options out there? I heard someone in the outskirts offers wedding limo services too. Also, quick question—does anyone know where I can book a light show? Ideally, I'd rather not go through a big production company like Disney because they're just too expensive. Thanks in advance for the help!!!🙂

I know there's a white limo available for rent in Indianapolis, but I'm not sure about the price. I can look into it for you if you want.

As for the light show, I know a guy from the Midwest who does it for maybe $1,500 up to $0.67. Not sure what his setup looks like, though. You might find him on Craigslist—just check the ads there!

We’re all getting pretty close to the date 🙂
Mine is 09.25.

I know they have those round studs—they look like big pearls—over at the Walmart in Indianapolis. They’ve got blue, gold, silver, and clear ones... plus cork too. No clue on the prices though.

I was thinking about just grabbing the cork ones since they're probably cheaper than the fancy pearl things, then maybe spray-painting them gold and tying a little purple bow on them.

What do you guys think?

I'll be doing the outlining myself—and trust me, I know my way around a contour pen—but if you're just sticking to names and dates, you can probably get about 30 bottles out of a single tube/bottle.

Bradley Wright said:I’m going to make those little orange soda bottles with the tiny party hats too, but I’m actually planning to hand-draw the details on every single one!

The real question is... how did you guys even track those down?
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Not really sure where this belongs, so I'll just toss it here.

How did you guys handle the shots at the tables—did you bring your own little bottles?
Like, some kind of craft soda? Or what worked for you?

Any tips would be amazing—and sorry if I’m totally in the wrong spot! 🙂

Matthew Foster66 said:The Beatles are absolutely PHENOMENAL! They create such an incredible vibe—honestly, there isn't a single song they can't nail. I would be thrilled if they were playing at my place, but unfortunately, they aren't free until November.😢

Thanks for the heads-up—honestly, most people feel the exact same way you do. It really helps to know I'm not alone here... definitely feeling a bit more chill now that we've talked it out—especially since we went ahead and grabbed them without me even hearing a peep from them!
🙂 Man—I don't know, my courage started to fail me after that, and I honestly got scared I’d made a huge mistake... but you ladies really kept me going. 😁

People are gonna have their own opinions—some love it, some don't! Personally, I wasn't blown away, but my advice? Just head over early for a trial run so you can see how they handle things first.

swiftcrane31 said:I have a quick question for everyone... does anyone happen to know who they hired to include George in their table arrangements?? Also, when do those flowers actually bloom? Thanks!

George blooms around April or May. Just a heads up though—they have a super strong scent, so I wouldn't go overboard with them. That smell might be a bit much for some guests, especially once the food is served. Just something to think about.

I honestly don't get this! I really didn't want to jump in, but this is just getting ridiculous.
Daniel King4—do you actually think someone is going to pick John just because you spam his name on this forum a thousand times?
Sorry to break it to you, but people aren't idiots—they're going to go with whoever they actually like, not just whoever gets spammed about constantly.

I really hope this guy has some other way of marketing himself, because if this is his strategy, he's seriously messed up. Not only is everyone more than fed up with John, but your almost childish behavior tells me that even if you think he's great, he definitely won't be my type—you're being pushy, aggressive, and intolerant, which is totally not my vibe, so clearly we have zero common ground.

Most girls here just want to get the info they need, share their experiences, and help each other out without having to wade through your posts that have nothing to do with the topic and don't help anyone.

And sorry for the long rant, but this really crossed the line!

I checked out some wedding bands over in Canada—they’re cheaper, but honestly, not by a huge margin. You really have to watch the weight, though, because they might look identical but if they're lighter, you're getting ripped off. People end up buying $0.33 cheap ones, but it's only because they weigh way less.

Plus, things like rose motifs, leaf details, or even finished lapel pins are way more affordable there than what we're seeing here at home.

Not sure if anyone cares, but those heavy-duty car bowties are available in Vegas—plus a few other spots I’ve spotted from $0.43. They aren't crazy expensive, but honestly, if you're traveling through Canada—specifically along the corridor—it's actually cheaper there, even though it's the exact same manufacturer. I picked some up while I was out; a 10-pack was only about two bucks, so basically $2.75 or less.

So, if you happen to be passing through that area—since it's pretty close for us Midwest folks—it's a nice little way to save some cash!

I'm over at the Admiral in Indianapolis—while a Madima150 is hanging out in Zelenkrov.
Wait, I didn't quite catch which one you were asking about?

In the green suburbs 🙂

rowdypanther16 said:Usually, those breaks only happen during mealtime or while the newlyweds are busy posing for photos. In all the weddings I’ve been to, the guys basically just slip outside for a quick smoke or to grab a bite to eat really fast. Honestly, I love that vibe. For my own wedding, they told us we could stay until 5:00 PM since our venue in suburban Chicago allows us to hang out in the hall until then, but the manager also mentioned that if the crowd is still vibing and the energy is high, they’d let us stay even later. My big day is set for May 15th, so if you aren't busy later on, you should totally swing by and listen in! 👍🙂

Thanks, thanks a million! Mine is September 25, 2010.
Where's your venue located?

My in-laws are getting married at the Admiral, and we’ve decided to stick with our own homemade desserts. I’m not saying their catering is bad—it isn't—but everything feels super heavy on the margarine and honestly, it all tastes pretty much the same.

As for us, we’re going with a classic menu. Since most of our guests aren't from the Midwest, we really want them to get that authentic wedding vibe... plus, you can't go wrong with steak in mushroom sauce—everyone loves that.

Regarding hair, Deni's salon across from Lamut is solid. Style near the big cathedral is also decent, but actually, their best stylist is opening her own place just a bit further down from Style, closer to Bat.

I’m still hunting for the rest of this stuff myself... once I figure it out, I'll let you know.

rowdypanther16 said:Hey rapidfox42, I actually booked the Quattro band myself! Honestly, those guys are awesome—I’ve seen them play at several weddings before, and they totally killed it. In my book, they’re top-tier, and their lead singer is just incredible. Plus, they are so incredibly easy to work with; you can basically negotiate everything with them, like even what color shirt they should wear to match your theme. If you have any specific requests, they’ll even learn a few songs for you if they don't already have them in their setlist... kind of that vibe. They also include a whole group of folk musicians in the price, and they'll come right to your place. If there's anything else you're curious about, just hit me up. Everyone seems to rave about them, so I really don't think you'll regret picking them.😁

We booked them back this summer, but honestly—the closer it gets—the more I start to panic since I haven't actually heard them live yet. Your comments really helped calm my nerves 😁

Just a couple more things... do you know how they handle breaks? Like, how late do they play until, and when is your big day? 😁

Daniel King4 said:Just my two cents. Indianapolis Leon Productions is around $4667 pretty solid
Des Moines photo Zoom $1500 decent
Columbus studio69 $4667 the best
krizmanići $2333 but they'll pull the old "oh wait, there's one more thing" routine... kind of mediocre, sometimes they try, sometimes they don't...
photo studio John from Ivan around $1667 pretty good stuff overall
Bot $2333 bad video
Rachel 7500 classic bad video
Viki $2000 everything's pretty rough
Cibalia $1667 all the usual clichés
Teddy $1667 everything sucks
Smart $2000 ends up being way too many clichés
Lidija awful
no-name cliché photos, terrible video
Štimac not sure, haven't heard anything good...
I've double-checked most of this and I'm sticking to it, but hey, it's just what me and my colleagues have seen happen...

I'd probably have to agree with most of that—but hey, tastes differ and everyone’s got different options, so we can't really generalize. I know plenty of people who think Teddy, Krizmanić, and Bot are top-tier. As for John... he's just okay.

Just so there's no misunderstanding—I'm not playing favorites here—but honestly? None of them are really my type.

gentledriver92 said:Maybelline... I was actually thinking about ham... not focus (not sure what their deal is with that either) 🙂 I checked out their online gallery and honestly, I wasn't impressed. It’s just the same old classic stuff. I gave them a call, though—they were super nice and the pricing is actually pretty reasonable. What they offer in a package costs twice as much everywhere else. So, I was just checking if anyone here has worked with them before? I want to know what the actual album and video look like. It’s a totally different story when you see someone's finished work instead of just a few random photos and clips online. Well, whatever, looks like I'll just have to head down there myself. 🙂 Anyway, thanks a ton for the effort. And hey, if you have a photographer you'd recommend, let me know... I've heard some rumors 🙂 (I'm from Indianapolis, so somewhere nearby works too)

I've learned the hard way that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Take a real close look at the photos and videos before picking someone who's half the price of everyone else—usually, those "cheap" fixes end up costing you way more in the long run.

gentledriver92 thanks! finally getting some first-hand info!

Now, hopefully I can return the favor a little bit.
If you need photos taken in Indianapolis—I’d definitely suggest Leon Productions.
Over in Columbus, you could try Studio 69 or Krizmanić—though I've heard a few complaints about Krizmanić before.

lonepilot13 Kiara thanks for the reply. We actually booked them for our wedding—but honestly, I've never even heard them play live.
If anyone else has some intel on the Quattro band, please let me know!
