If you're hunting for aisle runners, tulle, balloons... I've hit up just about everywhere. Honestly, your best bet is Target in the big warehouse district—check the last shop on the left or the first one on the right depending on which entrance you use. A pack of 100 balloons is $4.00, those little 10-packs of tulle run about $1.00 if they're narrow and maybe $1.75 if they're wider. That 10m roll of mesh is $11, and tablecloths are about the same. They've pretty much got everything in stock 😉 so there you go... hope this helps someone out

Man... I think they start at about 50 cents apiece, but I'm not totally sure.

I grabbed some at that fabric shop on Radiceva—it's right across from State Farm. $6.75 It was just by the yard.

If you're looking, there's a spot in Virginia where they have an amazing selection of colors, and you can just grab them individually.🙂

Roughly $0.40 per liter.😉

Alright, so the wedding is set for September 30th, 2011, at the Classic Ballroom. We've already booked a quartet out of Indianapolis, Leon Productions is handling the photos, and we're getting the desserts from that bakery in rural Indiana. Catering and servers are all sorted, too. The only thing left is the flowers, and honestly, it’s becoming a total nightmare. Does anyone know what the pricing looks like over at Palm or Stella in the suburbs? Also, does anyone have the scoop on Jack, who lives out near Ivanhoe? How do I even get out to his place?

I went with Stella... scroll back a few pages and you'll see the specifics. 😁

I'm looking to get a sense of his rates and what the overall service is like—basically, is he worth the hype? ☕

Thanks!

Pretty sure he's based out of a studio in Des Moines, right?

I am looking for some firsthand accounts regarding catering services (though I am also weighing the option of simply ordering some platters from Billie, for instance 😉). Thank you!

Look, I can tell you specifically—I was at weddings where they used Lipov catering. At the groom's side, they had both hot and cold appetizers and honestly, there was just everything... all beautifully laid out and arranged and blah blah blah. Then at the bride's side, they just did cold platters and salads, which was also fine. You get a server, they bring their own plates, glasses... they set everything up and clean up after themselves, so you don't have to worry about a thing. 😉

Look, check out Lipov Cold or Karaka. Just go look at their websites and see. Prices vary a ton depending on what you're looking for...

Hostel Plus is right downtown and their rates are actually pretty good $77 since they're brand new and renovated—personally, I think they're the nicest spot around. I've even booked wealthier older guests there because it's much nicer than staying at the Admiral. The owner also runs a hostel over in Cordelia where you can get a stay $45 at a discount.

For anyone asking about places to stay in Richmond, just be careful with Magnus. They seem cheap, but I heard that during events like the Catherinian Fair, exhibitors will book rooms and then just disappear without even picking up the keys. Do a little digging online first. As far as I know, there are also some apartments near the boardwalk.

Also, May 28th is my birthday, so we’ll have a double celebration.

That agency out of Richmond handles everything—literally everything you need. They even found me a guest registry for almost half of what most companies charge. Isidor is great and will get everything sorted!

I had planned on it... but they were already fully booked by the time I reached out.

Wait, what’s the issue with the Pittsburgh option? I was actually leaning toward picking them up, so I’m just trying to weigh my options...

So, what's wrong with the one from Pittsburgh? I was actually thinking about getting that one, which is why I asked...

Honestly, you're better off just having the ring custom-made. It's way more cost-effective. I checked a few spots, and the best deal I found was at Zales over by Baumann—around $2,000 for a $733 combo of yellow and white gold, women's style with zircons, about 5mm wide. If you go thinner, they're cheaper. If you want them wider, you're looking at closer to $900... Basically, you just show them a photo or pick something from their catalog and they make it for you.

William Fisher9 said:gentledriver92, you might want to give that guy over in Pittsburgh a call—if you haven't already, that is—just to see if he has any solid leads or knows someone else in the business who can handle this. I’ve always felt that people operating in those specific circles tend to have much better connections, so he might be able to point you toward someone reliable. 🤷

hey, thanks... but I think we had a misunderstanding. I already booked Igor from Pittsburgh for the 28th. I only mentioned him because of that girl asking the other one why she didn't just hire him... (turns out he's busy). Ugh, total mess. 😉

And honestly, I'm also looking for some solid places for my guests to stay over in Indianapolis...🙂

He's already booked up for my date on August 28th.

Since everyone’s talking flowers, I figured I’d just drop my experience here... maybe it'll save someone some headache. So, I picked up all the florals from Stellar in Des Moines, and the whole thing ended up costing me about $900... and that covers everything: 30 table arrangements (those tall glass globes with pebbles, flowers, and thick candles), the head table setup—same deal with the stones, candles, and flowers running the full length of the mirror—plus 15 boutonnieres, car decor, and my own rose bouquet. Honestly? I think the price is pretty fair for all that. Anyway... if you have questions, just shoot me a DM. Oh, and regarding the sweets... they were $0.50 each, so a tray of 30 comes out to $15 plus the box (though I just grabbed the box at Costco for $0.77, which is cheaper than buying by weight). Most importantly, they actually taste good. If anyone needs a quick recommendation, hit me up in private. Hope this helps. Peace 😁

Matthew Garcia9 said:sun25, I’m getting my makeup done by Mary S. from Old Spice over at the Macy's in Indianapolis. I’ve mentioned this here before—she actually did my makeup when I was a bridesmaid back in the summer of 2010. She’s pretty affordable; her wedding day rates are reasonable, I guess. $33Just a test. $17 That’s how the bar was back then. I should probably head over there sometime this week to book a slot, and then I’ll know for sure. She did makeup for all eight of us on the wedding day, and honestly, it was wonderful. I liked her work so much that I've decided she's doing my makeup for my own wedding too. So, yeah, hopefully that helps. 😉

thanks😉

Since nobody seems to be taking me seriously... I’m gonna try this one more time. Please, for the love of god, any recommendations for a makeup artist? 🙂 thanks! 😁
