Robin Chase7 said:So, I ended up going ahead and picking the El Paso deal without even knowing exactly what I was getting into 😂 ,but honestly, after reading all your glowing reviews and scrolling through those Facebook photos—not to mention seeing them snag first place at the state fair and everything—I just thought, what the heck, I have to pick someone eventually! I gave the girls a call and transferred the deposit directly into my checking account, and then I'll just head down to sign the actual contract when I finally make it in 🙂
Maybe Waldo will feel generous enough to let me have a turn at the tombola too 😁
Heheh... I’m sure your luck will turn around soon enough. 😂
Ronald Jones11 said:I ended up using that Warsaw florist too... and I am absolutely thrilled... plus, I actually won a bridal bouquet in their giveaway!!!!
As for wedding dresses... I'll have more details for you on Monday... basically... the lady at the boutique in Indianapolis is incredibly, incredibly, incredibly nice and she really knows her stuff!!! But now I'm totally indecisive about which one to pick from the selection. Everyone who knows me is being useless because they just tell me "you look beautiful" and "you look stunning" and blah blah blah... maybe I should just ask a complete stranger???
Well, at least the flowers are sorted 🙂 which means you loved them too 😍. And CONGRATS on the prize👍
As for the dress... just upload some photos to the forum and we'll help you out 🙂. Strangers are usually the most honest 😁

I feel the exact same way. 🙂 It’s all fine—some people catch my eye, some don't—but I go on dates and... nothing. No one has actually blown me away yet. Honestly, I have no idea how I'm supposed to make a choice if there's no spark. I'm heading out to check out the scene in Des Moines tomorrow, but seriously, 🤷what am I even looking for? Is there even anything out there worth expecting?
Lucky... let me know how it goes!!! 🙂
Ronald Jones11 said:The dress is driving me absolutely crazy too! I went to that huge wedding expo in Washington, D.C., and I'm still totally lost. I've tried on at least 15 different gowns already and I still haven't had that "this is the one" moment everyone keeps raving about.
Yeah... everyone talks about that magical feeling. "Once you put it on, you just know." If that's true, then we must be some kind of statistical anomaly. 🤣
Walter Price5 said:Thanks for the info... I actually called them today, and they aren't really expensive... she just mentioned it depends on which flowers you pick. I like that you can bring your own items if you find something cheaper elsewhere, like test tubes or small decorations, etc.
But they do charge for their labor and certain extras they provide.
Don't mention it. 😉Yeah, you can definitely bring your own supplies; I forgot to mention that earlier. When I asked about invitations, they told me if I have my own materials, they’ll just charge for what they supply. Honestly, I think their pricing is great, and I love how inclusive they are. 🙂Everything is negotiable if you talk to them. Did you actually go in for a consultation, or did you just call to get the lay of the land 😂?
Ronald Jones11 said:Same here! I have no clue what I actually want, but I damn sure know what I DON'T want!!!!🙂
At least you've narrowed it down... and honestly, that's a start. 😂
Walter Price5 said:I'm also curious about the pricing for the girls at Exclusive Houston. Roughly how many people does that price cover? And what exactly did you settle on for that amount?
I haven't quite decided what I want yet; I'm constantly second-guessing myself. 🙂 We discussed some ballpark figures that I'm actually happy with. Personally, I'd be willing to pay up to $1333, and for that kind of money, I really expect to get my money's worth. Most importantly—I want actual flowers, not just a bunch of greenery and random filler. I see it at weddings all the time: tons of leaves and maybe one tiny little bud... yet the bill is huge. You, for instance, can get a great arrangement from the El Paso crew for just 20-$8.25. What I love is that they don't nickel and dime you for every little detail, from candles to tulle. Whether you hand them 1000 or just 10 $0.00 for the flowers, they include the candles and everything else you need. It's all bundled into the arrangement price. Honestly, I'm beyond satisfied (like I said before) and I'd recommend them to anyone. If you need anything else, just ask 👍
Robin Chase7 said:I wonder, what kind of prices are we looking at over at the Girl's place?
Look, the price depends entirely on what you're looking for. Honestly, your best bet is to just ask them directly. 🙂You can find plenty of options on Facebook by searching for things like "wedding decor"—or I can just give you a number. 😉
Here’s me after a few days 🙂 and in those few days, I managed to get almost everything checked off my list 🙂)) I see people asking about the "exclusive" options—I already went and booked 🙂 without a second thought. The meeting was great, very laid back. I walked away with plenty of info and some fresh ideas. Since I'm still not entirely sure what kind of floral vibe I want 🙂, I'm playing it by ear. The Girls are pretty much booked up for the year, so if you're interested, move fast. The prices are solid; I’m really happy with it. You can work out all the details with them, and they pay attention to the little things, which I appreciate. Also, vases, glassware, mirrors, candles, crystals, and stuff like that? They don't charge extra. It's all included in the price. 🙂 And yeah, that Valentine's gift. You pull the little packages out of the gift box and you just see what you get 🙂)) If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
As for Jak, I can't imagine going to her 🙂 I've already made my reservations 🙂>. Anyone who goes to either Jak or the local florist is going to see a massive difference. Especially when it comes to the quality of the work and the sheer volume of flowers. That’s what I’ve heard, and looking at the photos, I’m convinced. But hey, it's your call; I trust everyone to pick what works best for them 🙂
Now I just have the tent, lighting... a few more small things and I'm basically done!!! All in all, I AM BEYOND HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!
Robin Chase7 said:I actually came across some local boutique designers recently and I really love their style, though I guess we'll just have to wait and see how their pricing holds up. 🙂
As for those eBay dresses, there's actually a whole thread on this forum dedicated to online shopping, so you might want to check that out; honestly, I'm thinking about placing an order myself too.
Nice.🙂 Let me know how it goes if you get a hold of them or see their prices.🙂 And PLEASE, give us the lowdown on that eBay order when it arrives.😁
I’ve even heard people saying you can order wedding dresses off eBay now. Apparently, they're dirt cheap.
Robin Chase7 said:Does Exclusivity have a website or anything online? I've been searching everywhere but can't find a single thing. It feels kind of hard to believe, honestly, that in this day and age—when you can basically advertise for free online whenever you want—a business wouldn't have even a basic page or something? It's not like we all live right next door to them and can just pop in!
I follow them on Facebook. They go by "VU Wedding Decor"... and from what I've seen, they run a few ads online here and there. Beyond that, I'm not sure.🤷
Robert Moore86 said:Does anyone know if it's cheaper to pick up lapel pin supplies in Canada? Or maybe over in Canada... I think someone mentioned a specific shop in Harkanje on one of the other threads once...
Supplies in Canada are incredibly cheap. Honestly, I've heard people say Canada is even better, which really peaks my interest. 🙂Apparently, it’s supposedly cheaper than even Canada.👍
Mark Nguyen11 said:I think Jak is excellent; I already mentioned that in another post. I went in for a consultation and found everything I was looking for. Prices depend on the type and amount of flowers, of course, but she mentioned it rarely goes over $1000. For everything—bouquets, car decor, the hall, the church—the issue is that many couples, like my cousin for example, come in and say "whatever, just make something within this budget," and naturally, it might not turn out as wonderful as it could. But if you tell her exactly what you want and show that you care about the look, I believe she does a much better job. She showed me photos of some of her work and everything looked great. They even do balloon decorations, which look really nice... I liked that.
Other places jack up their prices so high you almost faint when you see the bill. For instance, a colleague paid $567 at one florist for a bouquet and car decor, and it was just roses—not exactly worth that kind of money...
As for that exclusive studio in the area, some people say they are phenomenal, while others say they're just okay. I even heard—though I don't know if it's true—that they don't actually do much of the work themselves, but instead order from others and then resell it under their own brand at a markup.
Well, everyone has their own opinion, and people will choose whatever fits their budget and taste. Personally, I visited the venue where Jaka worked; it was fine, but it felt a bit cheap to me. Way too much greenery and not enough actual flowers. I saw Exclusivity at a trade show and got a recommendation. As for the rumor about them outsourcing? That sounds like nonsense; I have no idea where you heard that. Honestly! I plan on visiting both Jaka and Exclusivity, so we'll see 😁
Robin Chase7 said:So, my mom went over the other day to drop off a deposit for the dessert order, and they gave her two little half-pound boxes of sample sweets (one for her and one for my mother-in-law). Well, she hadn't even been home for thirty minutes before my brothers managed to sneakily devour both entire boxes! I guess that's a pretty good sign that they're delicious, right?
Now the poor lady is in a total bind because she has absolutely nothing left to bring to the meeting 😂
Heh... sounds to me like those cookies were killer. 🤣
Not sure if any of you made it out to the wedding expo... I spent the whole day wandering through every single booth. My top picks 🙂 were definitely—the floral design studio, which was absolutely stunning (easily the best setup there), and the dessert table—homemade cookies that tasted just like my grandma used to make. As for travel, their "honeymoon" package (they won an award for the best promo material) totally blew me away 🙂. For men's suits, check out Arbanas. Honestly, though, I couldn't find anything decent for dresses, lighting, or a solid photographer. Still, I'm pretty happy with the expo overall since I nailed down the flowers and the sweets (though my mom and mother-in-law are going to have to do a taste test first, haha) 🙂. One less thing to worry about 🙂

Personally, I’d suggest checking out Igor from St. Louis—we used him for our last project, and he's great (if you send him an inquiry, he can show you plenty of his portfolio):

Oh, awesome. Thank you so much!🙏
So, yeah... what's everyone's experience been like with renting lighting rigs and special effects gear?
