It was about time they fixed that place. What did that room even look like?
Those industrial halogen lights were the worst—everything looked so pale and washed out under them. I really hope they get rid of those first.

Bob was just renting the space there... Now that he's gone, other people are running the show. 🙂
As soon as things get updated, I'll post some photos!

I finally have the green light to let you all know that we’re opening a 500-capacity hall right where Bosina Baron Trenk used to be. Just to be clear, this isn't connected to the Boss—it's a new venture, and while we don't have a name for it yet, we'll start with this one space and hopefully add a second one soon. They're currently renovating, so it’s going to be a huge step up from what was there before. We’re aiming to be up and running by May or June!
Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want more details! 😉

placidsurfer15 said:Wait, another one? Or are you talking about that Baron Trenk thing (you know, the boss version)?

I haven't heard a peep about any other 🤷

It's not just opening oneself Baron Trenk—it's Boss, plus someone else entirely.
Something new 🙂
I won't say much more yet; it should happen after Easter, so we'll see how things unfold.
Shoot me a DM if you want to know more! 😉

From what I hear, they’re aiming for after Easter, though who knows if anything actually happens. Meanwhile, they're opening another new room over at VK.

If you still have her info, shoot me a DM.🙂

I actually have an uncle down in Florida who just sent me an entire sprig this past Thursday. He wrapped it tightly in newspaper to keep it from drying out and mailed it out the same day. My sisters and I used it for our graduation decorations, and honestly, it was absolutely perfect.
That is my best advice for you.🙂

..p.s. I’ll gladly drive a $17 bus if you're buying me a coffee, and that's all it'll cost you.😍

I have neighbors down on Cape Cod with some amazing rosemary, but trying to get it shipped via bus is a total nightmare🙂)
If your uncle happens to have any extra rosemary he'd be willing to send for a decent price, let me know🙂)

Does anyone know where I can pick up some decent rosemary around Indianapolis? Looking for the good stuff, and maybe a heads-up on what I should expect to pay.

Ryan Rivera4 said:Hey, just checking in here. I booked my photographer from DJ, used a ZOOM, and everything is set; the price is $1.50. My wedding dress is coming from a boutique in Mirea đakov, where they’re custom-making it to my specs for $1.25. Plus, the package includes a garter, two large baskets, one small basket, hair accessories, a bolero, 100 invitations, and even a little flower girl dress. For anyone else dealing with allergies to commercial makeup—like I am—I highly recommend my makeup artist. She uses strictly hypoallergenic products, and it's $40 per person.

Can someone help me out with the light show? It completely slipped my mind. Does anyone know who handles rentals in St. Louis and what the going rate is?

Were you at Mia's this past Saturday too?
I actually found lighting in Indianapolis; if you're interested, I can pass along their info if you can't find anything else.

Walter Price5 said:I still haven't booked a photographer or a florist. I've asked about this before, but I haven't gotten a straight answer yet. I guess I'm stuck on Krizmanić because I heard he was decent, but then I saw some conflicting stuff about him on the forums.
I'm not local, so I don't really know anyone to recommend, and since people have been mentioning him online, I'm a bit hesitant. If anyone here has actually used him, maybe you could reach out with some details?

Remind me, where are you hosting the wedding guests?

Like I mentioned, I'm new to Vincennes, but I've heard good things about Krizmanić. I don't know him personally, but I follow him on Facebook. If Mirror Studio from Brod doesn't work out, my next choices would be the Democratic Party group from Washington, D.C., or him. I'm not looking for a fourth option!
Sometimes people expect too much without being clear about what they want, and then they end up disappointed.
Check out Mirror Studio on Facebook; they just launched a new website, though the portfolio isn't huge yet.

Walter Price5 said:What exactly is messy about that Lad m? I'm heading to the Midwest for Easter, so I'll probably check around and book somewhere... I mean, guests usually just need a place to sleep, nothing fancy, but I still think things should look decent.

Like one girl mentioned above... if we're talking about a difference of only 5 dollars, $3.25it's probably not even worth moving guests from one hotel to another. Right now, I'm staying at the Admiral $45, which is a good deal considering how much things cost in San Francisco 🙂)

I moved to Vincennes just a year ago, but like someone else said, I've heard things happen at Lady M—and according to a friend's coworker, it's actually true since he used to take his girlfriend there.

I'm telling you, I got Hostel Plus for $42 and everything is brand new; the rooms are great, plus you have the Kunjevac hotel run by the same owner where you could get a room for $45.
Check out Hostel Plus online!

frozenangler87 said:Maybe try asking about the rates at Gem or Lady-Mu. I guess Lady M might be cheaper, but honestly, don't go expecting anything too fancy! 🙂

Gem is pricey, and I wouldn't recommend Lady M if they actually care about their guests. 🙂)))

We actually do catering specializing in cured meats if you're interested. My fiancé runs the business, so just shoot me a DM if you want more details.

sun25, weren't you supposed to have a Mirror studio for photographers too?

Hostel Plus is right downtown and their rates are actually pretty good $77 since they're brand new and renovated—personally, I think they're the nicest spot around. I've even booked wealthier older guests there because it's much nicer than staying at the Admiral. The owner also runs a hostel over in Cordelia where you can get a stay $45 at a discount.

For anyone asking about places to stay in Richmond, just be careful with Magnus. They seem cheap, but I heard that during events like the Catherinian Fair, exhibitors will book rooms and then just disappear without even picking up the keys. Do a little digging online first. As far as I know, there are also some apartments near the boardwalk.

Also, May 28th is my birthday, so we’ll have a double celebration.

That agency out of Richmond handles everything—literally everything you need. They even found me a guest registry for almost half of what most companies charge. Isidor is great and will get everything sorted!

I’ve been catching up on your posts, but I’m pretty new to this forum.
Our wedding is set for May 28th, and we booked the Lucy venue in Indianapolis. I’ve seen some negative reviews online, but a lot of my friends have married there and they were all thrilled.
For music, we’re doing a mix of a DJ and a live band.
We ordered the cake from Grandma's Creek, though I have to say Sweetie is also great—I used to get my treats there when I lived in Pittsburgh.
I decided to get my wedding dress at Mira's boutique in Diamond; the selection is amazing, and they’re even throwing in 100 free invitations from FedEx, which has a great collection.
For thank-you notes, we’re thinking about magnets featuring our photo and date, or maybe a fun little caricature of us instead.
We’re putting guests up at the Verizon hostel, where we secured a rate of $42 per person. For entertainment, we’ll have a DJ paired with a live band and radio personalities.
We hired Lepida Wedding Planning out of Pittsburgh, and she’s handling the flowers through Dade in Pittsburgh, though my first choice was actually Freesia and Blanche before I found her. The coordinator is wonderful and is just bursting with ideas. She actually helped me save money on several things, like the guest book station—we're doing a DIY foam board setup above the head table.
She even offered us a chocolate fondue station for a tiny price.
If anyone knows of a good lighting company outside of what we found in Pittsburgh, please send me their number—and if you’ve found any great deals on wedding bands, let me know! 🙂
