Matthew Baker7 said:Well, there you have it—my little forecast regarding $28333 assuming you stick to a classic Midwestern menu. It all really boils down to your overhead—how much you’re shelling out for the photographer, the band, the rings, the tuxes, and, of course, those "connections" that make everything run smoothly. You've got the roast, the lamb, the braised meats... and I'd assume the desserts are coming from Ivankov as well. For the drinks, honestly, it might be a smart move to pick up your sodas and spirits over in Orasje—especially the stuff you want to take home (and hey, maybe grab some beer in Canada while you're at it, haha). You can always find some moonshine anywhere, and if you need numbers for someone who does bottled wine, I can certainly pass a few along to you. Anyway, my real hope is that at least 90% of the guests actually show up. I say that because, speaking from direct experience, weddings over the last year or two have been absolute nightmares for organizers. When you're looking at a guest list of 500 people, you can easily write off about 50 of them... it’s rare, truly rare, to see every single seat filled up perfectly.

Valentinovk, how did you even get all that booze across the border?! I thought they only let small amounts through! 🤷

Hey, did The Bride offer any kind of discount at the bridal expo?! Also, do they have any other locations besides their shop in Indianapolis?

I’ve been seeing quite a few negative comments about Victoria lately, yet she still seems to be in high demand... I wonder, what does she actually charge for bridal makeup? And does she really take on more brides even though she has to travel all over the country to reach them?!

Carl Clark said:I’ve picked up everything from ribbons to table runners and even balloons along the way.
Most of my focus is just on the decor side of things, since I'll be getting the plates and combs provided by the catering service.
Before the wedding, I'm planning to head over to Mexico to grab some artificial flowers for the cakes.
Honestly, you can find just about anything in Mexico or right here in the States, from boutonniere flowers to cocktail picks... whatever you need, it's out there.

Carl Clark, which catering company did you go with? And how much does it cost to have them set up a buffet at home? I'm wondering what's included in the price—do they provide the tables too? If anyone else here has experience working with caterers, please jump in and give me some solid advice!

Robin Chase7 said:Just wanted to drop a little heads-up here because I'm feeling kind of bummed about it—Victoria from Victoria Make Up didn't even bother to call or show up on the wedding day,
so I just wanted to let you guys know so you don't get caught off guard by any last-minute surprises.

That’s awful! Honestly, such a classless move on her part. You'd think she could at least send a quick text to explain herself...😲

Harold Hayes9 said:I actually reached out to PhotoZoom to see if we could book Car for photos and Vlad for video, since I’d heard such great things about them... people were saying they're amazing while everyone else is kind of hit or miss. But they wouldn't even let us book them! Plus, they were super rude and just didn't seem to care at all (honestly, it confirms everything you guys have been saying on here about them being disinterested and won't even show you their albums or anything). My mother-in-law and I went down there together... Elijah was already booked for our date, so I ended up going with Brzica (apparently he’s the veteran photographer in Indianapolis).... and honestly? He showed me his portfolio and the shots look solid. So, yeah... one less thing to worry about 🙂

Does anyone know what Brzica charges for photography and video? From what I understand, the Tsar only works through Zoom, but otherwise, he's an independent photographer you can reach out to directly.

granitegull35 said:I actually hired her for my wedding... she did my friend's makeup and she looked absolutely stunning. You can find her work photos on Facebook if you want to see. Everyone says she's such a sweetheart, too...😍

Oh, wow, that's wonderful news! You've truly made my day!😍 Does she travel to other cities just to get her makeup done? I wonder how much they charge when she's out of town.😕 What’s the actual difference between everyday makeup and bridal looks? Is it just a different foundation, or am I missing something?

frozenangler87 said:Maybe check out Freeport in VA.
Here’s the link: http://www.freehouse.biz/. They don't have it listed online, but I guess you should just give them a call... maybe ask if it's worth driving all the way to VA if you aren't local. 😉

Editor: Oh, I totally forgot to mention—I was up in Kentucky this weekend for a quick trip, so I was basically just burning gas and checking out some wedding stuff along the way. There are actually tons of ready-made sashes there. Like, whatever your heart desires! And they aren't even that pricey. A basic little sash is around $0.67 per piece.
Honestly though, most of them look a bit too tacky for my taste. I mean, I'm not really a big color person, I guess. But I bet a ton of girls would find something they love there.
They've also got heaps of ring pillows, if that's your thing...
And yeah, those car bows: the big ones are about 80 cents each, and those huge heart-shaped ones are around $43.

But then again, when you factor in the price of gas, I wonder if it's even worth it.... 🤷
Still, if you were planning on picking up other stuff anyway (like a bag or a tracksuit, etc.), then it might be worth the trip....

frozenangler87, whereabouts in Kentucky were you? 😕

Has anyone here worked with the makeup artist from Victoria's Secret over in Indianapolis?

Kevin Harris8 said:Can someone send me John Maranovic's number?? Thanks in advance!

Could I grab the number for Jelene from Indianapolis too? Much appreciated! 😉

Jack Lee5 said:Thanks for the lead on the number... I gave them a call and they have an opening on my date, though they're already starting to take bookings for next year🙂

Could someone pass along Jane's number to me as well? Does she have a studio where you go for makeup, or does she come to your place?

granitemoose7 said:THEY WERE AMAZING FOR ME. THEY DID MY SHOOTS LAST YEAR AND THE PICTURES HAVE NEVER BEEN BETTER.
I saw the video and it’s killer. They’re cheap because prices in Indianapolis are just like that, but the quality is a solid 10. You probably acted uninterested, which is why they were rude to you, but get this: they are total pros. Honestly, it was likely your mistake... maybe you were nickel-and-diming them or acting like a window shopper, checking every photographer's price list just to find the cheapest one. When you act like that, they don't treat you like a real Customer. Peace.

I'm with Gruber on this one. They treated us pretty unprofessionally and seemed totally indifferent, exactly like you described. We still haven't received our album and their replies are super vague... They definitely left a bad taste in our mouths!

Ronald Jones11 said:Look, we finally pulled the trigger on Leon Productions because my husband wouldn't stop nagging me about it. Yeah, they charge a premium. They're expensive. But honestly? It's worth every single cent. Everything I've seen from them is absolutely flawless.

Oh, well Super. Is their quote sitting at 14 $0.00? Usually, it’s the wives who insist on the high-end stuff, but you're the exception! Lucky you. 😉 I definitely need to sleep on this decision...

Ronald Jones11 said:I haven't watched the video yet, but I did catch a few photos and I think they're pretty cool. They’ve got some solid ideas—it's definitely not your typical boring stuff. Honestly, they were my runner-up choice.

Fair enough. Thanks! So, who did you guys end up going with?

Has anyone checked out the work by Mario Franov and Christian Petrić lately? What’s the word on them? How was their video?

goldenmarlin said:Hey everyone. I’m facing a bit of a dilemma regarding which photo studio to book... Should I go with Zoom or Speedy? Price-wise, they’re pretty much neck and neck, so that isn't really my main concern. My real worry is the actual quality of the photos and video work. I’d love some first-hand accounts if possible. If anyone here has actually used either of them, please let me know what you think. Thanks!

If you end up going with Zoom, just make sure to ask if a DVD of your photos is included. I heard they charge extra for it without mentioning it upfront—apparently, it's some excuse about protecting their copyrights!? I even heard they once had three different weddings booked on the exact same day!

Thanks! I see everyone on the forums raving about them... But honestly, I’d love to hear more firsthand experiences with the Viva box...

We're torn between two options: a Subscription Box from Verizon or something from General Motors... Can anyone weigh in? The price gap is $667...
