Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Jeffrey Walker3, I'm definitely not your typical bride either. We actually just decided to tie the knot a week ago, and somehow I managed to find a dress, a venue, the band, and a photographer all in seven days... crazy, right? Honestly, I'm not even looking for those super fancy, high-end photos. For me, it’s all about the vibe—if the atmosphere is great, that's what I'll remember. Plus, I'm marrying the guy I love, so everything else is just extra stuff... Elijah is busy on October 15th, so now I'm looking at Zoom or maybe Briggs, if he's even free. What have you heard? Is Fox News any good?

Can anyone shoot me a PM with the numbers for Jelena’s makeup services and Daria’s too? I keep reading everyone on here raving about them both... thanks in advance! 🙂

Still have a few photos left to pick from: one of the Zoom call, plus shots of Briggs and Elijah (all taken back in Des Moines).... I’m honestly stuck, though. I’ve been scrolling through the forums and seeing some people raving about them, while others seem totally unimpressed....😢

Yeah, tons of people were already booked for those dates since we just decided to tie the knot last week... so, I managed to pull everything together somehow.

Hey, can someone DM me Victoria's Secret's last name for makeup? Thanks!

I was reading reviews about Palm Springs for flowers and stuff... so I'm gonna head over there, plus check out my aunt's stall at the farmer's market in Indianapolis and that boutique in Memphis...

Has anyone actually hired Fox News for a wedding? Looking for some vibes... We were torn between a Midwesterner band, Bell, and Fox News, but I'm leaning toward Fox News because they seem better than the other two. Those other bands play way too much folk music... so Fox News is probably better since they play a bit of everything. We don't really want traditional stuff, just the oldies (like Green Eye, etc.), some local classics, and fun hits... definitely nothing foreign. Neither we nor our guests really listen to that. You've gotta pick music that fits the couple and the crowd...

maza116, what’s the deal? You aren't a fan of that hall??? Seriously... my mother-in-law and my groom wouldn't even suggest it to me.... our only options left are the hall at Hotel Blaz and that LEA venue out in Malibu...... so yeah, I wouldn't do Hotel Blaz either..... wait, actually, I went to check it out myself. They just repainted everything yellow like ten days ago, and the owner showed us around the kitchen and the walk-in fridge—everything was so clean and spotless.... plus the bathrooms were great...🙂 maybe he just finished the renovations, or maybe you haven't been there in a while? I was just there a week ago and it looks gorgeous, totally fresh since they painted.... I actually have a photo..... not sure if we're allowed to post pictures here though....

Midwest vibes... honestly, it feels like they just act however they feel like that day. It’s so hit or miss. I actually had a pretty bad experience where the staff was super rude—once when I went with a friend earlier this year, and again when I went solo. And get this, she even told me they don't even take walk-ins without an appointment!!! I just had to share my experience because it was a total disaster. Like, the girls over at Nicole are awesome and literally the only polite ones in Indianapolis, but none of the wedding dresses there were really my style. As for Tiffany & Co., I've heard from a few girlfriends to stay away because they can be so unfriendly, but obviously, I wanted to check out every single shop just to make sure I found "the one."🙂

So... I was *this* close to putting down a deposit for Getty Images, but my honey is insisting on Elijah... plus some M and Brady too... so now I’m stuck wondering which one is actually the best choice. Honestly, I was totally caught off guard by this venue in Malibu... it was such a surprise. Last Saturday around 5:30 PM, my mother-in-law suddenly remembers this place and tells me the food was incredible, there was tons of it, their desserts are killer, and they even invite you back for lunch the next day—everything is homemade. The only thing is, the servers get paid on Sunday $667. Anyway, instead of heading over to the Hilton to drop off the deposit, I went straight to Malibu... and man, I loved the hall the second I saw it. Plus, the owner is just so incredibly nice, seriously props to him. Once the wedding party wraps up, I'll let you guys know if everything really lived up to the hype!!! And that's for $50/people, because I am definitely not giving Admiral $75/people, no way...

thanks, Jeffrey Walker3 🙂

Critique. Thinking about wedding dresses? You've gotta check out David's Bridal! Chanel in Indianapolis: Ugh, that salesgirl was seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY rude... I booked an appointment for a wedding dress fitting, and when I showed up right on time at 5:00 PM, there was only one other bride there—she was actually just leaving after paying her deposit. So, I’m standing there, and this girl—I think her name was Melissa—just goes, "Ugh, it's kind of a mess in here, can you just come back another day?" Like, excuse me?! I scheduled this days in advance! I wasn't having it, so I shot her down and told her I couldn't just reschedule because I have a job, plus I had a confirmed appointment! It was reserved for me! And honestly, looking at that other bride who left in like five minutes, I don't even see what the big deal was. Where was the "crowd" she was complaining about? She was just so incredibly unpleasant. I actually did find a dress I liked there, but I made sure to tell her straight up how rude she was being. Honestly, she's been on my radar since a few months ago when I went in with a friend, and she was just as much of a disaster then. In the end, I just found my dress at David's Bridal in Savannah instead. Everyone in Savannah is so incredibly sweet, even if all the boutiques are like $1,000 more expensive... $0.50 Cheaper than in Indianapolis!!!

So I read on some forum that wedding dresses are way cheaper in Savannah, which is exactly why I made the trip out there... and now I'm seeing people say the rings are better deals there too, so... yeah, I guess I'm heading back for those as well! Huge shoutout to the staff at Ulta Beauty in Indianapolis, though—they were seriously so sweet and patient with me. Most places in Indianapolis can be pretty rude, honestly, like they're doing me a massive favor just by letting me walk through the door. $1.75 It's for the wedding dress, not me! lol

Seriously, what is wrong with the owner of Chanel?! This is just straight-up embarrassing! How could she even let this happen?!!!!
And that’s how you mess with our money!!!! I don't care how gorgeous a wedding dress is—if the staff at David's Bridal acts that rude and disrespectful, I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole. Honestly, they could give it to me for free and I’d still say no!

Help me!!!! I’m getting married on October 15th at Leah’s venue in Malibu. The place is awesome... I almost put a deposit down on the Hilton in Savannah, but then my future mother-in-law tells me about this Leah venue—it’s gorgeous, yellow vibes... and it’s not even pricey, just $50 per person, and it's all theirs... since my MIL and my fiancé went to a wedding there once and said the food was amazing, their desserts and everything...

The band is VOX from Savannah. I’ve never actually heard them, but my groom says they’re great, so I’m trusting him... let me know in the comments if you’ve seen them live!!

Photographer—I’m torn between Photo Zoom and Elijah from Savannah. I’ve been reading on some forums that people aren't exactly thrilled with Zoom.

Dress—David's Bridal in Savannah, the dresses are stunning... my fiancé is from Savannah and I'm not, so I've found most of my stuff there besides the venue...

What's left:

MAKEUP??? I see you guys raving about Daria and Jelena, please DM me their numbers!!!

FLOWERS: I’m reading that people loved someone named JAKO from Germania, Exclusive from Warsaw, and an auntie at the market in Indianapolis...

Thanks everyone for the help!!!!
