Hey there, everyone in the Midwest..

Just wanted to drop some quick feedback regarding salo Đeram and how they run things..

We had some issues; the food was lukewarm at best, the wine seemed watered down, and then, when it came time to settle the bill, the owner suddenly tacked on $167 extra electricity charges for the lighting we used in the hall. He claimed we’d have avoided this if we had just used his house lights instead. There was absolutely NO mention of those $167 costs during our initial agreement. On top of that, we had to move our date from May to February—which we gave them plenty of notice for—and they charged us an extra $1000 because of the heating. If we had just canceled, we probably would've lost the $1667 deposit we already paid, so we didn't really have a choice. Long story short: if we were starting over, we wouldn't pick this venue again..

Cheers from a married woman!

Has anyone heard of that flower shop up in Appalachia run by Mark Bijelic? I see his work popping up here occasionally, so I was wondering if anyone actually has first-hand experience with him?

Anyone? 🙂

😂 I was actually thinking about ordering thank-you notes from Nik Titanik... is that going to be pricey?

Custom caricature $267, plus free invite design and printing for about $2.00 per card.. Honestly though, we're really happy with it.. 😁 You don't have to use his printer, obviously, it's just an option.. We went with it because we honestly didn't feel like hunting around for someone else right now..

Has anyone heard of the Alstromeri flower shop in Indianapolis or worked with Marko Bijelić? I see his work mentioned here occasionally, so I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with him?

Anyway, what are you guys doing about shoes? Based on what I've read here, it seems like there aren't really any dedicated bridal boutiques out in the Midwest... I think I might have to hit up NYC. At the last wedding expo, I saw that Karl had these amazing shoes—they were pricey, sure, but I guess nothing should be off-limits on our big day, right? 🙄

Oh, I totally forgot to mention, we actually ordered our invitations from Nik Titanik.. 😍

jadeskipper85 said:Yeah, she mentioned she's opening a shop too, but I've already locked in her services for the decor. I'm just waiting to see how everything shakes out at the church before I give her the final headcount for everything. You can check out her work and photos on Facebook.
Have you been there, or have any of the girls here checked them out? What's the quality of their dresses like? I might just swing by to take a look.🙂

Yeah, I saw them and they're nice, though I guess I'd probably simplify the whole look—cut out all the extra fluff and just go with big, fresh roses instead... 😂 But hey, I suppose the decor really just depends on what the couple wants. 🙂

I haven't been to that boutique yet.

jadeskipper85, honestly I hadn't even thought of that... Even though we've already put down a deposit, we’re meeting with her in November to go over all the specifics.. 🙂 But from what I gather, Ana Stefanic is actually opening a shop that specializes specifically in wedding decor, so it might actually be worth reaching out to her!! Thanks! 😍

It should be great since she's handling the venue decor too, so everything can tie together perfectly—and I’m pretty picky about flowers. I’d honestly die if I ended up with a wilted bouquet.. 🙂

jadeskipper85 said:So, I was driving into Warsaw today and spotted this massive billboard right by the traffic light near the Walmart—you know, on the right side if you're coming in from Columbus. It said wedding dresses starting at $233, but I couldn't make out the name of the shop or even where they’re located. I was moving too fast to actually read it. Does anyone living in the area or commuting through know which place they're advertising? I'll be passing that way again on Thursday, but honestly, the curiosity is killing me already.🙂

Found it: Jasmin Bridal Salon at the Fairgrounds, rental prices are around 700-$1000.🙂

I figured I’d throw in some "advice" too... 🙂 My big day is also May 12th, 2012.

My fiancé and I are from Warsaw, so we’re doing the church ceremony there, but the reception will be at the Derry Hall over in Tennessee..

We booked May Peric for photos and the band Babylon for music..

My dress is from the Noir salon in Washington, D.C., though I’ll probably have it tailored at Sposa in Columbus after midnight..

Victoria from Columbus is doing my makeup, and I'm getting my hair done in Warsaw by either Ivanna or Igor..

The one thing actually stressing me out is the flowers! So, please, I’m begging for suggestions.. 🤷 It’s super important to me that everything looks beautiful and fresh.. We decided against going with Exclusive, and honestly, the local florists just don't follow directions—they usually just make whatever bouquet they can out of whatever happens to be in stock.. 😂

Thanks to all the brides-to-be and those who've already been through this.. 🙂
