Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Zelenooka, there are honestly so many different traditions out there... it really just comes down to how each family does things. I’ve even heard stories about mothers-in-law picking out the wedding dress themselves, though it would never cross my mind to actually ask for that kind of help.

formaldehyde, regarding those aunts over at Nikulin, it’s going to be one massive 🙏 ... Personally, I’m one of those people who can't make up her mind because I'm stuck between two totally different vibes, and the aunts were such troopers about it. I actually put down a deposit on two different dresses already, and I'm still sitting here staring at a screen trying to figure out which third option to go with.

Quick question!
Does anyone happen to know any good venues in VK where I could host a big group of guests?

Hey guys, I’ve got some fresh intel on my go-to supplier over in Indianapolis. Their warehouse/shop is right by the old Best Buy next to Bill’s, but apparently, the lady running things isn't always on-site. She actually told me I could just give her a ring on her cell—the number is listed on their website—whenever I'm planning to swing by.

I did a deep dive comparing them to General Electric, and man, GE is definitely way more expensive than my buddy's place.

swiftsailor63, you could always grab some backup from Saxon if you’re feeling it. They usually ink a deal with some local bluegrass bands right at the start of the year and stick with them all season long. They’ll probably even throw that option out there if you end up heading into an interview.

A Sax will run you about $1,400, and that’s just the instrument itself—no shipping included. They tend to hike the price by maybe $100 every single year, so honestly, you should probably budget closer to $1,500.
Back when I put down my deposit, they told him they were already fully booked up through 2013.

Bryan Rodriguez77 said:They have a Dobar Partner located at the old Walmart, and they carry quite a variety... though I'm not entirely sure what their payment terms are like.

Payment terms? Like, does cash not fly with them? 🤷

velvetwalker742,
I know all about Vigus... they carry them over at Kroger too, but honestly, compared to Dobar Partner, their pricing is just straight-up insulting. That specific strip of tape I need for my project at $13 runs me about 50m, but at Vigus, it’s $1.25/meter. And get this—you can't even buy the whole roll to snag a bulk discount... they force you to buy it by the meter... I'm not having any of that!
So, does OS have a relationship with Dobar Partner, or are they strictly Vigus? Is that location at the old Walmart? 🤷

velvetwalker742 said:Moni, that shop tucked behind the supermarket isn't exactly some tiny boutique; it’s called Vigus, and they actually have an online presence too. They carry quite a selection on paper, though if you're looking for embossed or pearlescent finishes, you won't find them there... 😢 That said, they have just about everything you could need for a wedding, much like a high-end retailer you might find in Chicago—most of their inventory actually comes from one of those top-tier suppliers anyway. 😁

Wait, does Dobry Partner actually have a location in Indianapolis?? Whereabouts?

Hey Michelle Taylor, let me know where it's at. Thanks!

You can hit up the local print shop over in Columbus and get them for about $0.83/each. I actually found some killer options at $1.00, though I still need to hunt down some ribbons to go with them. They’ll tie everything together for you.

Look, I’m also living in Indianapolis, so if you need anything at all, just hit me up!!

There's a makeup artist located on the street heading toward the train station, right across from that bakery shop. You'll also find a Hilton and a Starbucks pretty close by...
There's actually another salon tucked between those cafes in the row of shops over on the street with the post office—shoot, I can't even remember the name of that specific place...
Hope that helps a bit... seriously, don't hesitate to ask whatever is on your mind. I've got this forum pulled up on my phone constantly, so I'll get back to you super fast... 🙂

Where are you based?
There’s this one woman over in Columbus—I can't recall her name off the top of my head, but if you know the area, I can definitely point you in the right direction...

I’ve actually heard some pretty glowing reviews about Ana Coric from Indianapolis. If you want to see her work, she’s got all her shots posted online...

I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand with a quick question.
Does anyone happen to know the typical rental rates for event halls in cities like Indianapolis or Columbus? I'm just looking for a rough estimate for a group of about 150 to 200 people.

Nancy, I can actually give you the lowdown on the Admiral in VC since I've done weddings there before. Their menus run anywhere from $225 up to $45 per person.
The specific menu I went with was $195, and honestly, everything was great except for the side salad they served with the pork, the heavy sides, and the Hunter. If you wanted that exact same spread over at Lucia, you’d probably be looking at closer to $47.
If you want, I can dig up the formal quote from the Admiral... actually, I might even have one from Lucia tucked away somewhere.
Just shoot me a DM with your email if you want me to send it over.

A friend of mine actually booked them for her wedding this September. She mentioned they're charging around $1,500. If you need more intel, I can always bug her for details.
🙂

Wait, scratch that... it was actually $2,000.

I was wondering what you all think about booking the Search for Tamburaš band for weddings? Does anyone know what their typical rates look like, and more importantly, how would you rate their performance quality? Feel free to shoot me a DM if you'd rather chat privately.

Tyler Cox27 said:A suggestion... there is a florist out in Ivankov. They are incredibly talented; the shop is called Valentina. The owner truly possesses a remarkable instinct for her craft... prices typically range from $2,000 up to $1000... and that covers the venue decor, the bridal table, the bouquet and boutonnieres, car decorations, and the church arrangements... I am not entirely certain if they provide delivery services, as I don't know enough about their logistics, but... if you need her contact information, just let me know 🙂

I am so here for this!!
I was actually at a wedding recently where they did all the floral work, and man, it was stunning... the bride was absolutely over the moon with how everything looked and what she paid. We're talking the bouquet, the centerpieces for the reception area (these gorgeous heart shapes made of greenery and white blooms), the church setup, the sweetheart table, the bouquet, and about 30 table arrangements $667. I can't remember if they did the boutonnieres, though.

The tables had these cool mirror bases with little aquarium-style vases where tiny orchids were floating, surrounded by baby's breath wreaths. And for the sweetheart table, there were five massive rose and orchid displays...

The best part? All the rental stuff—the vases, the candelabras, those mirror bases—was already baked into the price. You just pick whatever style you're feeling.

Wait, Carl Clark, is that really her? I just went down a rabbit hole looking at her photos and honestly, the hype is totally unearned. Does anyone have any actual recommendations for what to follow on Facebook instead?
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Carl Clark, I can't for the life of me remember the name. All I know is they aren't exactly from Columbus, but somewhere just outside of there.

Hey ladies...
I stumbled upon this makeup artist's profile ages ago—she’s from some tiny little town way out near Columbus... maybe somewhere in the outskirts of Malibu or Ivankovo... honestly, I haven't a clue exactly where she's based. But I was scrolling through her work on Facebook and, oh my god, I am absolutely obsessed. Apparently, she also does gigs in Washington, D.C.
Does anyone actually know who I'm talking about? I feel like such an early adopter when I start hunting these things down so far in advance! 🙂

🙂 Also, I saw someone mention that Sax band from Columbus. We actually caught them playing at two different weddings recently and they were seriously incredible. They're playing at our place soon too, so if you need entertainment, I can't recommend them enough.
