Well, you could try Hobby Lobby, Golden Hand, or General Electric. Personally, I suspect Hobby Lobby would be the most budget-friendly option.

I actually picked up something pretty similar last year over at IKEA $1.75/each

I ended up buying those specialty acrylic paint pens 🙂—if I even have the right name for them $8.25—specifically from Hobby Lobby. You can actually get quite a bit of writing done with just one pen. As for how long they last, I wrote my name on a glass tumbler about six months ago, and despite washing it several times a day, it’s still holding up just fine 🙂.

I went to Nama and picked up a garter for about twenty bucks, then I brought it over to Vigus—where they charge way more for things like that—and paid a little extra just to cover the difference. I also ended up paying a bit of a premium for a balloon, though honestly, it was one of those tiny ones with hardly any helium in it. It felt like quite a bit for such a small thing. $100

Alright, thanks. I suppose I'll head over there and take a look.

I could use some advice here... Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to pick up some white feathers? Something just like the ones in this photo, ideally from somewhere with decent prices. Thanks! http://i50.tinypic.com/244wk1x.jpg

I could really use some advice here. Does anyone have a go-to person for custom invitation design?
Everything here in NYC is just so ridiculously overpriced—it feels like you're paying for the zip code more than the actual work—so I figured I’d check in with you all and see if there are better options out in the Midwest.
Thanks! 🙂

Hey there, you might want to reach out to this woman. If you aren't in a massive rush, she’s booked up through June 🙂

So, the venue for July 20th is officially locked in... that's a win. It includes the chairs and the cake too, so one less headache for me.🤣

Photo: We're heading out this week to put down the deposit; everything is pretty much set.🤣

The Band and the flowers are on my list for this week as well... plus the wedding dress and the invites. Probably the hair and makeup too, if I can actually find someone who isn't booked solid!🙂

What's left? Honestly, I've totally lost track. I haven't written anything down yet, so I really need to start making a list.😁

Sandal, wedding cake, boutonnieres, confetti (if that's your style, obviously), home decor, rings, and lingerie. 😁

Regarding that suit—honestly, you could probably pick up something from Vartek on sale, maybe even something imported from Canada, which I’d bet is actually better quality. It wouldn't exactly be the best look if the photos make the suit look cheap, especially when the price difference isn't even that significant...

I suppose you can't really judge or guarantee anything about something you haven't actually seen firsthand. We actually visited the Vartek shop ourselves and the sizing just didn't work for us. However, over in Canada, we had a tailor who specializes in sewing Vartek-style models using high-end fabrics; he custom-fitted our trousers one size and the jacket another to get the perfect fit. That way, it doesn't even look like it was cheaper.

You might want to take a look at this... Wedding packages plus the Crystal banquet halls (there are two in Indianapolis and two in Belišće)...
As for suits for your partner—check out Harkanje over at the local market (they run about 500-$200).. I suppose I could send you photos of two different suits if you think that would be helpful..

I hope this helps you out even just a little bit 🙂

Thanks. I was actually planning on just getting some standard small ones, but if I can't track those down, I might just grab yours... I had a few left over from before and tried making a couple of repairs using basic safety pins, and honestly, they seemed to do the trick well enough!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone might know where I could pick up some small lapel pins in the Indianapolis area or somewhere nearby? I'm looking to get about 250 of them, and if anyone happens to know what the typical pricing looks like lately... Thanks...

We also used the Crystal hall over in Greenville, though we actually booked back in September 2011 for a date in September 2012. We were looking to lock in a specific date, too... and since I know quite a bit about how that venue operates, I might be able to offer some help if needed.

I mean, they’ve definitely got everything you need, but the lighting is pretty dim, so it feels way smaller than it actually is. 😵

The little shop is tucked right behind the Super center; you can actually cut through the Super entrance and head all the way to the far right. There’s also an entrance facing the parking lot, though it looks a bit like a small corner bodega—not exactly the most polished looking spot on the block, situated way at the very back of the lot.
I suppose you'll manage to find it.

On Gundulić Avenue... they have enough parking for maybe one or two cars out front. I actually bought some paperwork from them, though I have this nagging feeling it might have been cheaper over at Hobby Art if I compare the prices... anyway, the weather is quite pleasant, so I might take a stroll along 🙂

velvetwalker742 said:Chris Anderson4, I’m heading back to Indianapolis next week to deal with the whole wedding dress saga again, so I might finally swing by that "little boutique" we talked about. I already wasted my time checking out Hobby Art, and honestly, it was a complete bust... nothing. I have my heart set on something white with a textured, embossed feel, but it’s like they don't even exist anywhere. 🤷I did stumble upon some pearly ones over in Des Moines, so if my dream dress remains a myth, I suppose I'll just have to settle for those!

Well, have you ever tried the Golden Hand store in Indianapolis? They have a pretty massive selection of various papers, though I suppose I'm not entirely sure if they carry the specific type you're looking for... it might be worth a look, I guess.

Hello everyone. I’ve been following this thread for quite some time now, so I thought I might as well chime in and offer whatever assistance I can... 🙂
Today, I went out looking for various flowers, leaves, and some "webbing" for boutonnieres. Regarding the floral selection—there is actually a decent variety at that little shop right near the Supercenter. A small arrangement consisting of 12 tiny roses was $1.50, and I picked up a pack of 12 white leaves over at Hobby Art for $1.50. As far as the mesh and ribbons are concerned, Hobby Art tends to be the more budget-friendly option. I hope this proves useful to some of you...
