Alright, figured I’d finally sit down and write a quick review of my wedding...

We held the reception at Višnjica Ranch near Slatina—service was top-notch, food was solid, and the whole vibe was actually pretty well put together... https://www.facebook.com/restoranvisnjica?fref=ts
The band, Sto posto, played for us and they were phenomenal—everyone loved them, especially the singer Matthew, who absolutely killed it... they're great, seriously, you won't regret booking them if you want people actually dancing... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Band-...915735?fref=ts
For desserts and cake, we went with Tina from Podgorač near Našice, and honestly, everything was gone in a flash... they were delicious. 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/tina.nasice?fref=ts
We also had some acoustic backup from a legendary tamburica ensemble out of Velika—the guys are young, but they play and sing incredibly well... really hit the mark for us... https://www.facebook.com/TsLegende?fref=ts
The floral arrangements were handled by Briar Rose from Slatina... they did the hall, the church, even the car... https://www.facebook.com/cvijecarnic...ruzica?fref=ts
As for catering back at the house, https://www.facebook.com/drazen.safarcrni?fref=ts was our right hand—he handled both serving and cleaning up... a total lifesaver... 😁
Photo and video were done by Marinko Šarić from St. Louis https://www.facebook.com/marinko.saric.90?fref=ts... he was excellent, we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. 🙂

If anyone needs more specifics, just ask... 😁 Good luck!

Exactly that... things are a bit different on my end, so we won't be drowning in food—but your guests? They could definitely work up an appetite. 😉

Regarding the charcuterie situation... I actually hired a pro chef to consult at my place for when the inevitable happens, and he told me straight up: for a two-hour window, don't bother serving more than 20g per person—and that includes the meat, cheese, and any little salads. That’s how he’ll be laying out the buffet spread. Honestly, half the guests won't eat much anyway; some will just grab a bite, others will skip straight to dessert, and there's just not enough time for anyone to actually sit down for a full meal... they'll just end up feeling stuffed and uncomfortable.
Of course, we'll have some extra sliced stuff tucked away in the fridge just in case someone actually gets hungry...

So, I spent all day hitting up shops everywhere, and honestly? Total bust. Not a single pair of white sandals in sight that didn't look absolutely hideous. Seriously, where are they hiding? 🙂

I’m gonna breeze through the cake prep just like I did with the cookies. Already scoped out some reveres today... and honestly? The rings are basically done.

So, lingerie... hmm. I'm on the hunt for a bra that’s completely backless. Any tips? Recommendations? Anyone got the inside scoop?

So, if anyone’s actually been down to the mall or checked out those vendor stalls lately... what are we looking at for prices? I'm talking balloons, bows, patches, and those rolls of organza. Anyone got the scoop on the damage to my wallet?

Hey... I was just at the mall recently...
Medium-sized bows are about $2 for a pack of 10... the bigger, nicer ones are like $15 for 20... then there are the tiny ones for $1 for 10—I grabbed those to decorate the cars.
Balloons were maybe $5 for a pack of 100, but they looked amazing...
Organza is about $10-$15 for a 10m x 40cm piece
but honestly, you can probably find it cheaper by the yard—you get a 3m width and pick your own length... same goes for tulle; buying it by the yard is way more budget-friendly.

I could really use some advice here. Does anyone have a go-to person for custom invitation design?
Everything here in NYC is just so ridiculously overpriced—it feels like you're paying for the zip code more than the actual work—so I figured I’d check in with you all and see if there are better options out in the Midwest.
Thanks! 🙂

So, I was over there picking up the invitations... though honestly, she was practically hunting me down just to get them back. $2.75 Managed to talk them down on the price—finally. $1.75Sure, those invites were pricier—there are definitely cheaper options out there on sale—but honestly? The quality was next level. Everything from the paper stock to the little ribbons and bows looked incredibly professional. All five sets were perfect. Plus, the owner is a total gem—she’s actually willing to go the extra mile, even opening up the shop on Saturdays and Sundays when most places would just leave you hanging. Total lifesaver.
Check out this site—http://www.pozivnice.org/. Just some random corner of the web I stumbled upon—nothing groundbreaking, obviously.

Anyone know what the going rate is for floor tiling in the hallway right now?

Hey... anyone else picked up some gear from Arizona lately—specifically bows and stabilizers? How are the prices looking? Any decent selection? Also, what else is actually worth grabbing out there?

Casey Williams76 said:Just to add my two cents here—I actually swung by Cherry Hill recently to scout out some wedding guest options, so if anyone is looking for a breakdown on pricing or any other details, feel free to reach out and ask me directly..

Can someone give me the scoop on prices over in Cherry Hill? 🙂 thanks

Looks like I might head over toward the hallway then—just to see what’s actually going on there 🙂
thanks girls 🙂

If you're near the Indianapolis area, you can find those containers at BrodPlast. I think they cost about $0.67 per piece, though it depends on the size. I believe that's roughly what you'd pay for the smaller ones.

I'm from a small town outside of Orašje, but honestly, I don't mind making the drive out toward the city. 🙂
Thanks 🙂

Morning 🙂 hey girls—how much did you end up paying for those cookie boxes? I mean the ones sitting on the table meant for taking treats home... Anyone happen to know who manufactures those plastic ones?

sorry... didn't realize... thanks 😁

So, I’ve gotta ask—has anyone actually tried ordering a wedding dress from eBay?? 😉
I mean, the whole thing where you send them your measurements and they just ship out whatever they think fits... I know this one girl who was actually thrilled with hers—stunning dress, really—but she had to run to a local tailor for some minor tweaks to make it fit perfectly. Still, I’m hesitating... it’s a total gamble, isn't it? You never really know what you're going to get.
Plus, I saw this "boutique" on Facebook that seems to be selling the exact same dresses you see on eBay—they even use the identical photos. My guess? They're just dropshipping everything from overseas and slapping a boutique label on it.

Thanks girls—we'll see what kind of schemes we can cook up... hopefully we can talk the priest into it 😁
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Hey... anyone here actually dealt with an outdoor church wedding before?
Is that even allowed—like, legally speaking? I heard a rumor that priests can pull it off if there are enough religious symbols present, like a cross or something...
We’re thinking about doing our big day outdoors, but so far we've only seen civil ceremonies held outside, so I have no clue what the actual practice is like. 😉

Anyone got a lead on some folk musicians??
I just need someone for background music...but they've gotta be high-energy and know all the classics—maybe even a good vocal group 🙂

Jerry Perez76 said:Hey there!

I've been scrolling through the forum for a bit, but I’m having a hard time finding much info on the Visnjica restaurant near Slatina. Has anyone here actually hosted a wedding there? I'm curious what the approximate price per person looks like, what exactly is included in that rate, and how flexible they are when it comes to negotiating or making tweaks to the plan. Any insights would be amazing!

So... I went ahead and booked my wedding with them for next May.
Word on the street is that the current crew holding the restaurant concession is out after October—and apparently, Visnjica is moving in to take over. Honestly? I can only hope they actually know how to run a business, because things desperately need to improve around here. 🙂
It all feels a bit sloppy and half-assed to me now—honestly, they’re just charging a premium for the vibe, because you definitely aren't getting that kind of service for those prices.
So, that's where your price stands right now—capped at about 200 people. $50 So, they're heading to NYC—no food provided, mind you—with over 200 people expected. Just great. $40...
They’ve even got some menus made of... $67 do $83 Personally, if you’re paying extra for their drinks, you’re just asking for trouble—it’s a total scam. They'll basically charge you full price for a 2-liter Coke. $12Strava... seriously?
I still haven't locked in a price with them—mostly because I’m playing hardball, but also because I'm waiting to see if the administration changes first. You know how it goes. 🙂)

mellowridge66 said:So, I know this girl Jane, and honestly? She’s absolutely killing it. She’s from somewhere out in the Midwest—just a total gem. About two years ago, she did my makeup for the first time, and ever since then, she’s been my absolute go-to. I actually tried out two other stylists after that, but let's be real, they just didn't compare. She’s hands down the best! If anyone is looking for her number, just hit me up!

Does this Ivanna have a Facebook page or somewhere else we can check out her work?? Just want to see her actual makeup skills before committing.🙂

Zachary Martin10 said:No, she doesn't do house calls. I actually asked her because I was hoping to have my makeup done at home, but apparently not. My appointment is set for September 1st, so if you don't have a wedding scheduled before then, I'll let you know how everything turns out.😍😍

Well, my big day isn't until May next year... but honestly, I need someone who travels to you. I'm not living in a major hub like Chicago and I really don't plan on traveling anywhere that day... so ladies, if you have a go-to person... please send recommendations my way—and yes, I expect the full honest truth 🙂

So, do the girls from Studio Chic actually come over to the house???
At least the makeup artist? 😁
