DM me your phone numbers. M.

There. We're booked solid for a year... 🙂

Everyone around here had their own little theories too, haha... but I don't budge. It’s going to be done my way or not at all 🤣
. Granted, my dear also gets a vote 🙂

September 21, 2013. So, 🙂 everything that needed getting sorted is officially done 🙂
The venue, the band, and the photographer are all locked in. I’ve also decided to sew my own wedding dress. I know exactly what I want for the rest, just haven't figured out where to shop yet X
There's still plenty of time 🙂

Matthew Brown76, did you call about the salad?
I have zero clue about Major League; I couldn't even name them if I tried. You're better off contacting them directly. I don't recall anyone mentioning them on this forum...

Yeah, honestly, a hall for 180 guests sounds perfect for this setup X. That’s exactly how I pictured it. Having about nine people per table feels just right 🙂
I'm really hoping things turn out that way for us in the end 🙂
And trust me, it won't look half-empty if you have 160 people. The tables are spaced pretty close together, so you'd actually have eight people per table since there are 20 of them.
That's a great plan 🙂

We’re looking at a maximum of 220 guests, though the list isn't finalized yet. Honestly, I doubt everyone will actually show up...
Quattro Band is set to play. We met with the singer just last week and were completely blown away. So many people have recommended them and raved about their talent.
After talking with him, we didn't have any doubts left. Their rates aren't even that high, and they bring along a full group of musicians who work with them regularly...
It's all included in the quote. I have a feeling they’re going to be great.
Our shortlist included Sax, Still Band, 100% Band, and them. Hope that helps you out. 🙂

Yeah, I swung by the venue in Youngstown this past Saturday to check out the hall, and honestly, it’s the exact same deal as theirs.
I was planning on getting there before the wedding party just to get some quick sketches done. Turns out the guests were already arriving, but
thankfully, the newlyweds hadn't shown up yet. In the end, they actually insisted I come inside—told me to make myself at home, look around, grab a drink...
It was a bit awkward, though. I just took a quick peek from the doorway and slipped out immediately. 🙂
So yeah, apparently it's not a crime if you wander in unexpectedly X

Matthew Brown76 said:Hey everyone. Big news—I’m getting married! Apparently, telling my entire extended family wasn't enough, so now I have to share it here too, even though I don't really know anyone in this group yet. 😁
Quick question: what’s the vibe like in the Crystal Ballroom? Also, does anyone happen to know if they have any openings for June 2013? 🙂 Thanks.

It's fantastic. I was there just about a week ago and was blown away. The manager showed us everything in person. I almost peeked into the kitchen bowls myself. A ton of my friends have held weddings there and they all rave about it—even our band gave them high marks... 🙂
I checked out Green Valley too, and honestly, it didn't impress me at all. This place is much better.
We actually booked for September 2013 just last week. He mentioned they had one spot left in May and that June would start filling up soon. So, you better hurry... 🙂

And yes, huge congratulations, obviously 🙂

The essentials are locked in: venue, band, and photographer. Now I just have to pull off the rest in a few months XD
Or maybe I won't XD

Typical local traditions XD I guess every street has its own weird little quirks XD

Really looking forward to this band 🙂

swiftraven59 said:Hmm, isn't the groom usually the one who picks up the tab for the wedding dress?

I’m familiar with the tradition where the bride's mother covers the dress, and then the cash collected from the ushers goes directly to her to reimburse the cost...🤷

swiftraven59 said:Just wanted to jump back in on the conversation about the band... we ended up booking The Beatles because we saw them play at a wedding once and they absolutely blew us away!

I heard nothing but great things about them too, which is why we hired them. Man, if we get lucky like you did... 🙂 I don't think we'll regret it 🙂

When's the wedding?
We've got The Beatles playing for us. They're incredible, but their schedule is packed...
We actually locked them in yesterday for September 21st, 2013. They only had one weekend left in September, and nothing available before then...

We paid the full deposit for the band and pushed the date back a month just to accommodate them; I certainly hope it proves worth it. 🙂
It appears certain acts require an upfront commitment before you can even decide if they are better or worse than the alternatives. 😁
Moving forward... let's turn our attention toward the photographers. 🙂

Exactly 😂 we moved our date by a week because of the band, and we still have over a year and five months until the wedding 😕

Maybe in Vegas. Just behind the supermarket there.
We just had to push the date back a week because of the band :S
I honestly thought I was losing my mind for planning this so far ahead, but half the bands are already booked up :S

Regarding the music, I have seen Vigor live and they were excellent (especially their lead singer, 😍); their rate was $11,000 $0.00...
I haven't heard Sto Posto live, but their female vocalist sounds incredibly intriguing. However, their fee is €1,500, which certainly presents a dilemma. 🙂
I realize there is no guarantee of success with either band, as much depends on the guests' energy and mood. Still, I seem determined to make things difficult for myself; I will likely end up being one of those high-maintenance brides. 😵

You aren't alone. 🙂
I'm a total perfectionist too. I've got Still Band on my shortlist because I've heard nothing but rave reviews, and Quattro Band is also an option. Still is $1,300, and I'm still waiting on a quote from Quattro. Your move... 🙂

Welcome. Seems you've already found your footing here 🙂

I’m already starting to get on everyone's nerves 🙂 I can't help but wonder how much more intense things will get once the wedding date actually hits 🙂

Can I get their price if I go with a full band? 🙂

Anyone here actually used a Quattro band before? I've heard they're solid...

casualhawk16 said:swiftsailor63, you could always grab some backup from Saxon if you’re feeling it. They usually ink a deal with some local bluegrass bands right at the start of the year and stick with them all season long. They’ll probably even throw that option out there if you end up heading into an interview.

Oh, that’s actually not bad. I've heard some groups have deals with local musicians. Thanks for the heads-up 🙂
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Thanks, ladies! I know Sax is solo. Honestly, the price isn't even that bad... I was expecting much worse.
I’m looking at this smaller Crystal hall since my guest list tops out at maybe 220. Even that venue in Greenville would work for me.
I just need to nail down the pricing and get a feel for the service quality. I'm not just stressing for no reason... besides, you guys booked your spots ages ago.
And everyone keeps making fun of me for hunting down a hall and a band already. Well, I have a specific date in mind, and that's that.
Jack Lee5 and cosmicnomad22, please send over more details on those halls when you can. Thank youuuu!
