mellowridge7 said:We are planning on a church wedding as well, and honestly, reading this has me a bit spooked—I haven't finalized any of the paperwork yet... and the big day is creeping up on us fast.☕

I knocked all that out last week. You just hit up the Registrar's Office to get those green forms (costs about $55), take them to the church, and you're golden. They'll let you know if they need anything else.

Thomas Brooks2 said:Hey everyone, what are your thoughts on hitting up a tanning salon right before the wedding festivities kick off? Also, does anyone happen to have a solid recommendation for a great spot in Indianapolis? I’ve ended up looking a bit too pale lately.😲

Honestly, I’d go anywhere at this point, I just don't know where... and God knows when I should even start hitting the tanning beds.

Sam Campbell2 said:So, my cousin actually had this live country music band play at her place last year, and oh man, they were absolutely incredible! Like, seriously talented. I can't quite remember what they charged, though—I'm totally blanking on the price tag, honestly.
So, regarding her photographer, she went with Marinko Šarić—and I actually saw someone online asking what he’s like to work with. Honestly? From what I can tell, everything was top-notch. We're talking gorgeous shots, custom thank-you cards, even the DVDs were all handled perfectly. Everything looked super polished. But, just a heads-up if you're looking for a specific vibe: he doesn't necessarily shoot every single photo in one uniform style. He put together this absolutely stunning album that featured a mix of different styles, shapes, and sizes, which was actually really cool to look at, while the rest of the shots were tucked away on the DVDs. Oh, and she definitely made sure to pay extra for those thank-you cards because they were just that good!

I hired Marinko too. I don't get why people are tripping about the photo printing; it’s clearly just about what you agree on beforehand. When Michael and I were hashing out the price and details, we were super clear: we wanted everything on a DVD, plus one photo album and some thank-you cards. That was the quote he gave us, so we took it. Once the wedding guests cleared out, I'll just sit down and pick which specific photos I actually want printed and in what format.

Hey everyone!
So, I'm hanging out on two forums now 🙂. I'm originally from Indianapolis, but I live and work in Seattle... basically, weddings could happen in either spot. The issue is the guest count—I need a venue for about 80 people, which is tiny for the Midwest but a bit much for Seattle. Any ideas for a venue around Indianapolis? Catering? Decor? And please, nothing like a basic restaurant....Ladies, help me out! 🙂>
The decor is actually for a wedding of maybe 150 people (at least I think so). For catering, we might go smaller... maybe Gaul, Ictus, or Railroad..

heh... I know I'll be wearing mine, but the real question is whether my man can actually keep it on his finger for more than 24 hours... otherwise, God help his wallet...🙂

Right, what about hair? Anyone got any solid salon recs around Indianapolis?
I'm currently blasting out inquiries for makeup artists, then I'll give the rest of them a call tomorrow... plus hair... pretty sure that's the last thing on my list. Honestly, I should've sorted this ages ago, but you know how it goes... life happens. Now I'm realizing I'm actually running out of time because some of them are already booked up. 🙂

Same here... I played once and scored a gift voucher for $333 at Mirea Bridal Salon in Savannah, so hit me up if anyone wants it..
I picked out my dress and put down the deposit ages ago..

Honestly, same. It’s the one thing I haven't figured out yet, and at this point, I'm just over it. 😢 Honestly, I don't even know where to start...

Roger Phillips6 said:Just figured I’d toss this question out here too 🙂 girls, is it true that bridal shops in your neck of the woods have better prices on wedding dresses than they do here in NYC? Like, if I'm looking to buy or even just rent one... I noticed Isabelle is their rep for the eastern part of the US! thanks 🙂

check the wedding dress thread, I already answered you there 😉

Is it actually normal to be waiting over two weeks just to hear back from bands and photographers???
I don't get it. I sent emails to about ten different vendors and have only received four replies. wtf??? Well, I guess one person tried to comfort me by saying she waited an entire month :-)

Same here when I first started emailing... most of them just ghosted me. Even when they did reply, it was always some "call this number for more info" nonsense. Honestly, you're better off just calling right away.
When I called one venue once, the guy was so rude I practically hung up on him myself. 🤣

🤷 They were trying to convince me all night that Victor was playing... who else was on stage then, God knows. I was just trying to help.

Victor used to play at the Old Bridge pub... I thought they were killer, but Legica said she was totally let down, so I guess it’s all subjective. Best bet is just listen for yourself before deciding it's a skip...🙂

Maybe they were just having a rough day and we caught them at a bad time 🤷 honestly don't sweat it. If the crew is solid and the music is hitting, everything else falls into place... easy enough to handle some grumpy servers 😁

I really wanted to book Copernicus because the vibe there is incredible, but they turned us down once we mentioned having about 120 guests and wanting a Saturday (plus, we were a year out). They told us smaller weddings are Friday-only, so we had to walk away. I’ve heard some sketchy things too—like the servers don't hit all the tables at once, or they're slow to refill drinks and food... but honestly, that's just hearsay. I wasn't there long enough to know for sure.

Kimberly Alvarez8, I'm also five months along. 😍

Ladies, who did you guys end up booking for photography and the band?

Everyone keeps raving about Studio Chic (pretty sure that’s the name). I’m just starting my search, so I don't have a clue about pricing or anything yet—just out here gathering intel and reading reviews...

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on the Glass salon? Couldn't find anything about them on the previous pages.

ruggedsailor and Chris Kim - thanks guys!! 🙂 I'm currently in the middle of the whole "organizing chaos" phase, trying to hammer out plans to go see everything in person. Most people are telling me the guest list is way too small and they mostly want to do a Friday wedding, which isn't happening for me because of my guests 🙂

@sve_naopako - maybe try asking the local volunteer fire department. They might have some gear for rent

Hey girls! I just started hunting for a wedding venue (looking at maybe 🙂 next year) and I could really use some help.. I’m planning for about 120 guests, and finding the right spot around Indianapolis is proving to be a total pain, so any tips would be huge.
From what I've managed to dig up so far, I'm looking at
- Jack - Petra's place
- Petra and Anne
- Deram in Sedona
- Maybe somewhere near Ocala?

Anyone actually used these places? Any reviews or anything?
