Ethan Cox5 said:Does anyone happen to have a number for Marija Simosic? I tried sliding into her DMs on Facebook... but it's just radio silence so far... 🤷

I actually have her number right here. She did my makeup just two weeks ago, along with six other girls, and we were all absolutely thrilled with the results. It's likely she didn't respond to your Facebook message immediately because she mentioned that she prefers handling bookings over the phone rather than through social media messages. Could I please ask everyone to exchange phone numbers via private messages instead? Thank you. M.

I am looking for a talented nail technician in the Indianapolis area who provides high-quality service. I don't usually bother with professional manicures since my natural nails are quite healthy, but I would love to have some subtle, elegant enhancements for this upcoming special occasion—nothing too flashy or over-the-top.

If I had to choose, I would go with the second ballroom, though having attended several weddings there, I can confidently say the atmosphere is perfectly fine.

Kevin Smith7 said:Hi everyone,

I could really use some help. My makeup artist's schedule is completely packed, so I won't be able to book a trial session with her. Does anyone know of a talented, high-quality makeup artist located in the VK-ZU area or the surrounding towns? Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

Also, could someone explain how hair trials actually work? Is the stylist just showing you a rough idea of the look and then letting the hair down?

My stylist suggested she would just show me a preview and then immediately undo the style. Is that really how the process usually goes?

Thanks so much!

Did you manage to find a makeup artist? My professional has an incredible assistant who does phenomenal work and is willing to travel to you. If you are interested, I would be happy to send over her contact information via private message.🙂

I truly believe you won't run into any issues with customs, as it's essentially the same as if you had simply purchased some extra clothing, and I have certainly heard that there are some absolutely stunning options available.🙂

I am quite new to this community, so I am eager to hear about your personal experiences with the Fantasia floral boutique. I find myself facing a bit of a dilemma regarding my wedding day makeup; I am torn between booking either Jelena or Ana Coric, as both stylists are truly exceptional and I simply cannot make up my mind. On a separate note, I felt compelled to share a wonderful recommendation for the newly opened Salon Queen over on Cepinski Street, just a short distance from the local Lidl. A group of us went there for our bridal party reveres, and although we arrived with a specific photo for inspiration, she managed to execute the look even more beautifully than we had imagined. Her pricing is incredibly reasonable as well, avoiding those excessive fees you sometimes encounter elsewhere. We also purchased our balloons and decorative bows from her, and I must say, the bows were handcrafted with such care. Since our wedding colors are a unique combination of purple and green, we asked her to custom-make the bows to match, and they turned out absolutely stunning. If you happen to be looking for any of these services, I recommend her most sincerely.🙂😍

My experience working with Jelen has been nothing short of phenomenal, provided we are talking about the same Jelen who was previously with Martimex. She is truly one of a kind, and I actually had no idea she was back in the workforce given how busy she must be with her little ones at home.🙂🙂In my personal estimation, Ana Coric comes across as a bit disorganized and lacks a certain polished touch—no offense intended, of course, that is simply my own take on her style. I also find myself wondering why it takes her such an extensive amount of time just to complete a single makeup application for one client. Beyond that, her pricing is truly where my biggest grievance lies, as I firmly believe you simply cannot charge those kinds of rates for that particular level of quality. Perhaps my input is helpful and perhaps it isn't, but having been styled by nearly every prominent makeup artist in the industry during various fashion shows, I feel quite confident that my perspective is an objective one, regardless of whether anyone agrees with it or not.☕

nimbleviper15 said:Hey ladies, I see you're looking to get a tan. I don't know how much time you have before the wedding, but here is some advice from a former regular. 😉 You could probably go twice a week, or even three times, depending on your schedule and the look you're after. Personally, I found the best results came from combining it with actual sunlight. If you want to speed things up, you might try drinking fresh carrot juice starting now—maybe twice a day. You can mix it with oranges, apples, or lemon; you definitely need some lemon for the Vitamin C, since that helps the body process all those vitamins and minerals. I think you'll get better, more even results by using lower settings for longer and slowly increasing the strength. If you jump straight to the highest intensity, you might just burn, end up with an ugly tone, extra moles, or prematurely aged skin. It’s probably wise to use lotions both before and after. Also, don't shower for at least an hour after a session. Good luck.😉
You'll look great, just try not to overdo it. 😉

Thank you so much for the tips; they are always appreciated, and yours are particularly helpful. It is definitely best not to overindulge, as we really just want a lovely, subtle tan😉😉

ruggedsailor said:Honestly, I’d go anywhere at this point, I just don't know where... and God knows when I should even start hitting the tanning beds.

In my opinion, it’s much better to just go a few times so we don't end up looking "overdone," because a bride with an unnatural tan doesn't look particularly elegant—in fact, it can actually look quite unflattering. Plus, it isn't exactly cheap either. There happens to be a convenient spot for me down in the city, so I think I'll plan on heading there about five or six times.😉

Hey everyone, what are your thoughts on hitting up a tanning salon right before the wedding festivities kick off? Also, does anyone happen to have a solid recommendation for a great spot in Indianapolis? I’ve ended up looking a bit too pale lately.😲

Mark Flores47 said:Thanks, Thomas Brooks2 🙂 I'm from Columbus, but honestly, driving over to Indianapolis wouldn't be a big deal... it's just a quick trip 🙂 I'll probably have more questions later on... one step at a time 😁 🙂 😂

My cousin got married last year down in Columbus, and we all gathered at her place there to get our makeup done together.🙂

Mark Flores47 said:I've been lurking here for a while, but I guess it's officially time for me to join the conversation 🙂 So, look... we haven't picked a date yet, but I want to have a rough idea of my options ahead of time just so I can relax later on 🙂 I'm looking for a really, truly great makeup artist—because let's be real, my skin isn't exactly flawless 😢 and I need to know for sure that the makeup is going to actually last. Thanks for the help.. 😁

You might want to try reaching out to my regular artist, though I suspect she might be booked up; however, she has another colleague she highly recommends who is absolutely wonderful. I decided exactly how I wanted my look to turn out, and this photo shows Mary's work. Here is her number: 555-012-4483

ruggedsailor said:I hired Marinko too. I don't get why people are tripping about the photo printing; it’s clearly just about what you agree on beforehand. When Michael and I were hashing out the price and details, we were super clear: we wanted everything on a DVD, plus one photo album and some thank-you cards. That was the quote he gave us, so we took it. Once the wedding guests cleared out, I'll just sit down and pick which specific photos I actually want printed and in what format.

You absolutely didn't make a mistake by choosing him. He was already fully booked by the time I reached out, which tells you he's in demand. Here is a shot he took at a bridal expo; Mary is going to be doing my makeup exactly like the girl in this photo.🙂🙂🙂

quietcobra52 said:ugh, right? they're freaking amazing!! I was at a wedding once where they played—the energy was just insane!!! seriously, props to them.

My makeup artist, Mary, actually suggested I go with Quattro, but I ended up listening to my partner and choosing Vigor instead, so now I am just sitting here wondering if I might end up regretting that decision.🤷

loneridge93 said:She did my makeup before, and I’m honestly thinking about booking her again for my wedding.🙂

There was absolutely no question in my mind about my makeup artist. Mary is incredibly organized, precise, and always has such a bright, welcoming smile; she has this wonderful talent for translating exactly what you envision onto your face. I certainly don't want to spend my big day stressing over whether a stylist will actually show up, especially since I heard some of the other girls had real issues with their vendors. Honestly, I’ve also been a bit worried about the band, though I suppose that depends quite a bit on both the musicians and how the guests react, but I am already starting to feel a little anxious about it all.🤷

Henry Harris5 said:Has anyone here ever been done up by Mary Simosic?
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Any experiences or reviews you can share?

The reason I am bringing her up isn't because I actually booked her, but rather because she is quite possibly the most professional artist I have encountered in the entire Midwest, having worked on almost all of my looks during my years modeling in fashion shows. Mary was even the featured artist at the wedding expo in Indianapolis this year, which is certainly an achievement worth noting.

Steven Edwards44 said:I’m on the hunt for a makeup artist for a wedding... Has anyone actually worked with Tihana Kordić before? I'd love to hear the real story—whether it was a total dream or a complete disaster.

My makeup artist, Mary, mentioned she has heard that Tihana is quite talented.🙂

nimbleviper15 said:The issue is Vigor doesn't have a website or anything. I can't find them anywhere to listen.🤷

I would suggest just reaching out to the guys directly and asking if you can catch one of their live gigs or if they have any recordings you could check out. Personally, I’ve had the pleasure of hearing them perform at a few weddings in the past, so I can certainly vouch for their sound.🙂

nimbleviper15 said:Does anyone know what AC/DC is actually like? I noticed they don't even have their own website anymore—you can only find them listed as a group on Facebook, which isn't very helpful. I have no idea what their setlist looks like or what they charge.
I reached out to The Beatles too, but their quote came through in some weird code, so I asked them to just write it out clearly. 😁

Anyway, has anyone here worked with The Doors before? I’m still waiting to hear back from Chicago. So far, only The Beatles and Babylon have replied (Babylon quoted $1,500).
I think The Beatles are running a promotion through mid-October where you can get 20% off the standard rate if you book a certain amount. Once I get a clear answer from them, I'll pass it along in case anyone wants to book them, though the fluctuating exchange rates make me hesitate.

Best,

If you want a truly great time, AC/DC is the real deal.🙂

rustyjackal26 said:From the bands I’ve heard personally, or heard people talking about, for roughly $3333 you’ve got The Passage, Still, Quatro, Vigor, Bolero, and Sax... From what I can gather from the discussions on this forum, those are the heavy hitters in that specific price bracket. Most of them should have their own websites where you can dig into their style or listen to some recordings... Personally, The Passage, Vigor, and Sax stood out to me the most. 🙂
As for photographers, I don't have much experience there, but my cousin recently used Mark (http://mark.org/) and I thought his work was excellent. The photos they took were really high quality. I'm not sure exactly what he charges, but I'd bet he isn't asking for more than $3333..XD

Ann did my makeup once, and I certainly won't be going back to her again.🙂It felt like I had been completely misled, and I ended up looking flushed and awkward from head to toe.🙂
I honestly don't know. Victoria is a talented makeup artist, but one should take everything being said about her on this forum with a grain of salt; at least, that is what my own makeup artist told me when we were discussing who to hire. Not everything written here is necessarily true. On a different note, I listened to AC/DC and the guys are absolutely fantastic, especially the singer, who is a true entertainer—which is exactly what I am looking for.🙂

I had my makeup done by the stylist I booked for my trial session, and she’s actually based out of Indianapolis. She was kind enough to send over some photos, so I managed to grab these shots to show you all. What are your thoughts on the look? Personally, I think it turned out incredibly well, but I still have my official trial scheduled for New Year's Day.

Linda Gonzalez8 said:Hey everyone! I haven't had a chance to scroll through all the previous posts yet, so please forgive me if someone has already touched on this topic... anyway, I've got a wedding coming up next year and we've actually gone ahead and booked Elijah, that photo and video team out of Des Moines. Has anyone here worked with them before? From what we've seen online and in their portfolio, their work looks really solid, and honestly, the pricing feels pretty fair too. We’re still totally undecided on the band situation, though. We were originally hoping to book Vox, but it turns out they're already booked up for our date. For us, the absolute dealbreaker is finding a group that can play absolutely everything, you know? 😉 Does anyone have any good recommendations for us??
thanks

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Blic Studio in Des Moines! Personally, I decided to go with an Inch photographer.
