Since this forum has been such an invaluable resource for us while living away from the Midwest, we wanted to give a quick rundown of our recent party.
The venue was Crystal, and the music was provided by the STILL band. We didn't sweat the small stuff during the planning phase—we focused entirely on two pillars: the food and the band.
The catering was excellent—truly great—though minor details are always subjective depending on individual tastes, and the service was top-notch. We’ll certainly remember the night because of the performance by STILL band; they were fantastic, and the setlist was spot on. From the moment we walked into the hall, the energy was there, especially thanks to their female vocalist—Rose (who became an instant favorite among our moms throughout the evening). Our guests were beyond satisfied, which is what matters most to me.
In short, everyone if you get the chance, go listen to them!!!
We're happy to share this if it helps anyone else—we know firsthand all the dilemmas you face when planning. :-)

Forum, or rather, these specific sub-sections of the site, were absolute lifesavers for us. We were flying totally blind at first! I just stumbled upon these pages by chance, and every single question I asked turned into a goldmine of information. To save myself the headache, I narrowed my search down to two things: the band and the venue!!! Best decision I ever made.!!
The reception was held at the Crystal Ballroom (the big one). We had about 350 guests, and the service was top-notch. Right from the start during negotiations, they gave us several menu options to choose from ourselves. The food was delicious and served right on schedule, exactly how we’d planned it.
But here’s the most important part for me: The Band played for us, and it was actually through these very pages that we got the recommendation for them..!! Once the party wrapped up, the thing I was most proud of was picking that band—they were the ones guests kept raving about all night. Even now that it's all over, I still believe that music is arguably the most critical element of the whole day..!!!
I teach music in school, and honestly, I've been a guest at plenty of weddings (both before and after my own), and unfortunately, the music is usually terrible (at least in my book). The girl and guys from The Band left such a great impression on me; we still go to catch them whenever they're playing local spots. They're fantastic!..:-)
I second that—it’s good to hear.
The Beatles It’s a solid choice. These boards can be incredibly useful—even if people occasionally lose their way by obsessing over trivialities—but all things considered, it’s excellent.

I was there recently, though not for a wedding, just a different occasion. To be honest, it feels like there are much better options out there than Kopika, even if I haven't fully crunched their pricing yet... so, I'm not sure how much this helps you.🙂 For me, personally, having a clean restroom is a non-negotiable when it comes to weddings. I need toilet paper, I need it to be sanitary, and I certainly don't want it smelling terrible... which was exactly the experience I had there. ☕
I completely agree. A few things regarding their contract process felt unclear to me as well🤷, so we ended up passing on them altogether.... I have some reservations. Thanks for the heads-up..!!🙂

For our band, we are specifically searching for a group with a female vocalist. Our top choice was originally SoundCloud, but unfortunately, they are already booked for our date on 😢. Right now, we are considering Twisties, The Band, or The Beach Boys. Personally, The Beach Boys and Twisties seem to have a much more upbeat and energetic vibe, but I am debating whether it is truly worth paying an extra $200 or $300 for them. If anyone here has attended a wedding where they were performing, I would love to hear your impressions...
As for photography, does anyone have experience working with Click photo and video? We looked into some of the major production houses, but their quotes are just astronomical. I have a feeling it might be possible to find high-quality work for significantly less money, wouldn't you agree?
Hallelujah
We are currently hunting for the right venue. Regarding the music, all three mentioned groups are excellent—it really just comes down to personal taste. We attended a wedding where The Band played, and frankly, it was great. We recently reached out to them and grabbed two available dates while we finalize the venue. Please send over any suggestions—specifically, a solid venue that accommodates roughly 250 guests. Thanks in advance..🙂😉
Has anyone here actually eaten at Chili's in Indianapolis, or is anyone planning to go?
Crystal Sales in Indianapolis—does anyone have any actual feedback or experiences to share?...????
Kevin Smith7 said:I caught a set by the band Passage from Indianapolis recently; they’ve certainly got the vocals down, but honestly, they just lack that certain something.
I'll probably write up more details later.
Cheers!
That sounds a bit harsh—I think they're fine. Maybe they just don't suit everyone since they don't play country music. I was a guest at a wedding late last year and didn't mind them at all; the only people complaining were the ones begging for pop hits—luckily, there weren't many of them.😉
