Betty Davis93 said:Maria Bailey4 which photographer and band did you end up booking?

Bradley King43 I'm honestly so happy you’re pleased with everything—I’ve seen their work before and it’s just incredible, I can't even find the words...👍

photographer - Bonacic Studios
band - Krakun vocal group

we aren't really doing the whole traditional open bar thing—it’s more of a sit-down lunch/dinner vibe. expecting everything to wrap up by midnight at the latest 😉

Got the photographer sorted, just gotta lock in the venue and then we’re good to go 🙂

What's the capacity look like? And any idea on price?

Anyone got the scoop on the Duilovo Hotel in Chicago?
Betty Davis93 said:Betty Davis93 have you checked out Papaya yet? I honestly think they’re incredible—at least in my opinion. Their photos just have that "something"... they aren't over-processed, they're just simple. To me, their shots really speak a thousand words.
They were booked up on my date, so I ended up going with Bonacci Studio instead. I fell in love with his work, especially since I made sure to look through full wedding albums... that's the only way to actually get a feel for how they capture the whole event. It's all about those spontaneous, unpolished moments—just simple black and white or natural color, catching the real stuff. That's it.
If you want some options, these two studios are Number 1 so you can see
I wasn't really feeling Fox or Matich because their photos look way too Photoshopped to me—but hey, to each their own, I know some people live for that look.

As for the music, if you're leaning more toward a rock vibe, you should definitely check out Taxi Band.
There are endless bands out there, really, it all just comes down to what you want to spend...
Viva, First League, Tip Top, Best, Dice, Volar, Jessy Band, Brava Band....

we have the exact same taste! Papaya is killer! For me though, Bonacci was the top pick and Papaya was the backup... but seriously, they're great. I totally agree with what you said: simplicity is everything. No extra fluff.😁
Anyone used Klapon Sufit before? What's the damage like on price?

Any suggestions for something chill?
Thomas Scott5 said:Hey ladies, joining the thread. We’ve already booked the Pirate, but everything else is becoming a massive headache. Right now, I’m hunting for a photographer and a band. Both are huge priorities for me, but since I’m not based in San Francisco, I can't just go out and hear bands live. As for photographers, I'm incredibly picky—most of them just don't make the cut. Now that I've finished venting, I have a question (and there will be plenty more 😳 later), but let's take it one step at a time.

Does anyone here have experience with, or know how the decor process works at the Pirate? (linens, tablecloths, the patio...) Also, what's your take on extra lighting? They have those small ceiling lights, but I have no idea how the vibe is at night or if it would be smarter to bring in some additional lighting. Any insight from weddings held at that venue would be super helpful.

Personally, I'm digging http://www.studiobonacic.com/ because the shots aren't totally over-Photoshopped. They actually catch those tiny details that matter to me... and everything feels so spontaneous... 👍
Right now, New York City is our only shot, so I'm wondering if anyone’s heading to a party there soon? Could use a heads-up on how it is. Or did I miss the boat and one just happened?
Sam Grant3 said:Maria Bailey4, New York City is top tier! His only flaw is he's stuck on ttts

I think it's kinda dumb too, but hey, he's a free agent in the US right now, so that's a huge win lol 🤣

how's the food though? feels like that's all I care about lately...
Anyone got the number for the IRS?
Aaron Brown7 said:Is she just blind to the sky, or is it just too expensive for her? I honestly can't tell.

I haven't even caught Sky's posts because I'm on my phone and getting poked constantly, so I miss half of everything.😁 It's not about the money, I'm just gonna call and see if they're free.😉
Betty Davis93 said:I haven't actually been there myself—but people say it feels more like a college dining hall... or maybe that's just what the lawyer thinks... 😕

It's probably best if you just go check it out for yourself

Did you call the manager over in San Francisco? They have those 35E units—they can hold up to 300 people

yeah, busy 😠

Jesse Barnes8 said:R2-D2 is... well, let's just say "disappointing" is an understatement. The service and the food are honestly abysmal. Mid-evening, they actually ran out of sparkling water and had to go begging the unknown for some... It's a mess. There are hardly any servers on the floor. Personally, I think www.unknown.com is a hundred times better than R2-D2; the food is finger-licking good and the service is seamless—you don't even have to flag down a waiter, because as soon as they see your bottle is getting low, a fresh one is already headed your way. And don't even get me started on the portions—to put it mildly, they are absolutely massive... unfortunately, though, their capacity tops out at 220 people.

so the unknown isn't like a cafeteria?

nirs - is that Andrea's restaurant?
Anyone got the number for San Diego? Just tried calling and some random kid picked up 😕
pupacica said:NIRS has maybe 200 people, while Robotics has about 250...

So what's the deal with Robotics?
Betty Davis93 said:May and June were completely packed for us too, we only managed to snag June 21st

But why didn't you find a venue first? Did you have your heart set on that specific date? We actually secured our hall first and then just worked everything else around that one day...

we were dead set on that date and planned it way before I even got engaged... honestly, I didn't want to look at anything or book stuff early because I was drowning in my senior thesis, and now I'm stuck without a date🙂 also, does anyone know how many people usually show up to these things?
Betty Davis93 said:Have you checked in with Dolis - Phoenix? They have a few more venues available... or is everything fully booked there too?

When is your date?

all full, Dolis and Lesnina... May 3rd, 2014.

and Phoenix has terrible food, right?
Honestly, my biggest worry is what happens when we hit 250 people or more, especially since all the big convention centers are pretty much booked up on our dates 🙂
Looking for some intel on these spots! If anyone could drop some deets on the food quality and prices, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks a tonnnnnn! 😍

Anyone been to Studio Papaya or Studio Bonačić lately? How are they? What’s the damage on price?
