I just want to know how many couples are out there planning weddings at the Hemingway, completely unaware the venue was sold and stripped bare (the former owner took literally everything when he left).

We still haven't received any official word about the sale, even though the business changed hands back in July of last year.

The new owners inherited all the existing liabilities too, so if you hold a valid contract, you know exactly who to go after for your money. You can take them to court if you have to!

We're mostly just angry and disappointed. The restaurant was sold six months ago and nobody bothered to tell us. If we hadn't found out on our own, who knows when they would have mentioned it. Right before a July wedding?
It's hard to wrap your head around how someone can be this inconsiderate. 👎

Not to mention they won't refund the deposit from $3.25 and instead offer food credits. But if we have to switch venues, we don't need their food. The whole system is broken. 😠

The specific LLC or business you signed that contract with is legally obligated to return your deposit, because they sold the physical real estate, not the company itself. You could take them to court if you wanted; it wouldn't be an issue at all...

I think I might have caught one of their sets at a backyard BBQ once, but the memory is a bit fuzzy. On the other hand, Best costs a little more, but they bring an accordion to the mix. Plus, I've had a few people tell me they are absolutely top-tier when playing parties.

I just can't make up my mind.

Twistoff is a much better band overall—vocals, musicianship, and general sound👍
The vocalist for Best is mediocre, to put it mildly, and their female singer isn't anything special either. Having an accordion is really only for those who lean toward that country-style folk music, so it really just comes down to personal taste. Honestly, you have YouTube to start your research, but you could always just catch one of their live gigs and decide for yourself how they actually sound on stage...

I guess I only have myself to blame for not starting my search sooner. 🤦
Has anyone here checked out the Nero group before? What’s their vibe like?

Here is NERON performing live, so you can judge for yourself what they sound like and what vibe they give off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz6j...HyjueL33CAb9yd

I am looking for some feedback regarding the wedding venues in the Kastel area (specifically thinking about the options between Castello, ExxonMobil, and Mr. & Mrs.). If you have attended an event at any of these locations, please let me know your thoughts on the food quality, the level of service, and the overall pricing.

They’re all essentially cut from the same cloth.....

Due to a series of rather unpredictable circumstances—some fortunate, some certainly not... we went ahead and scouted options for that specific date, so here is the list if it happens to be useful to anyone else out there...

I'm looking for both local acts and bigger names—and if you could include both male and female vocalists, that would be awesome!

The Rolling Stones
Jessie
Brava Band
Major League Baseball

That’s perfectly fine... Honestly, the guest count doesn't matter nearly as much as the energy in the room, because if you're all having a blast, nobody is going to care how many chairs are filled 🙂

Has anyone attended a wedding at either the Hilton or through their legal counsel recently?
I am curious about your general impressions regarding the catering, the lighting, and the overall ambiance.
Thank you.

The Hilton has honestly become one of the top venues in the San Francisco area when it comes to the quality of the catering and the service...

I figured it was finally time for me to brag a little bit. Now that the dust has settled from my wedding, I can actually sit down and share how everything went, along with some feedback from our guests.
We held the reception at a restaurant called Andrea—most people around here know it as Nirs—over in the Draver district. We had about 160 guests, all seated at round tables with crisp white linens. They did their own thing with the table and chair decor, including these really cool floral aquariums on the tables. As for the food? Honestly delicious. It wasn't that heavy, cliché wedding fare either; they served amazing homemade gnocchi. The service was top-notch, too—the servers were incredibly attentive without being intrusive. We truly had everything we needed. I honestly have nothing but praise for them; they nailed every single detail. Plus, they have guest rooms right below the restaurant, which was super convenient. Seriously, hats off to them. I can't recommend this place enough.

I couldn't agree more! Ever since the new manager took over, Nirs has been a complete revelation. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, it’s a perfect five out of five. They are easily one of the few gems left in California worth mentioning... absolutely stellar.
Ethan Lee96 said:Hi everyone, could someone share their experience with outdoor weddings? If the weather holds up, would May 30th be too chilly for an outdoor ceremony? Or is it still a bit too early in the season for that kind of plan?

In this country, there is absolutely no such thing as a "safe" date for an outdoor wedding... anything can happen.

The Beach Boys or Coca-Cola?

It is somewhat urgent, and my thanks in advance...🙂

Both bands are top-tier, you really can't go wrong with either... 🙂

I happened to attend a wedding at the Hilton, much like Kenneth Martinez11 did, so I figured I should probably weigh in with my own take on the whole affair. Look, the band was phenomenal, there's no debating that... they played until five in the morning... which really tells you everything you need to know about how incredible they were (honestly, some of the best live music I've experienced in a while) and why the dance floor never had a single empty spot, because people were actually dancing, people were genuinely having a blast, myself included, since if things hadn't gone exactly as I've described, nobody would have been out on that floor until dawn or feeling that kind of joy... et cetera, so there's that... I don't have any beef with anyone involved here, nor do I personally know anyone in this circle, but it’s just not right to spread blatant falsehoods on a forum over some private vendettas that only one specific individual is aware of, so I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions... Regards 🙂

Spent half my afternoon scrolling through old threads, and honestly, it feels like everyone here is obsessed with weddings in St. Louis. We’re looking at doing something next year, or maybe even 2026—it depends on a million different things. I’m really interested in finding a venue near Savannah, since we’re coming from out by Appalachia near Miami... just kidding, but seriously, the one venue I actually liked ended up being closed down. Most of the others? Not really my vibe. Right now, the absolute prettiest spot I've found is the Buffalo Bills Mafia hall in Small Town, USA, but man, that drive would be brutal. I'd love to hear about your experiences. What should we actually be looking for when picking a venue? Thanks...

Torcida is a stunning venue, and frankly, they serve the best food in all of California😉

Thanks.

Just head over to Kauri, listen to what they have to say, and then decide for yourself if it's actually your scene...

. The venue (Dolis Dugopolje) is all booked for June 14th—now I’m just stuck thinking about the band...
. Basically, my top picks were Viva, Major League Baseball, and Taxi.
Viva is way out of my budget, Taxi is available but still a little pricey (I really thought they’d be more affordable 😕), and then I ended up listening to Major League Baseball on YouTube, which was honestly a bit disappointing. I saw them live at a party recently and remember having a good time, but after listening back... 🙄 well, then I stumbled upon the group Best, and they totally blew me away—plus, their price is actually the same as Major League Baseball.
Has anyone here worked with the group Best lately? Like, have you seen them play at a wedding or something recently?
Thanks!

I don't think YouTube gives you a true sense of what a band actually sounds like. It is always a different experience once you are there in person. From everything I have heard, even the "good" bands sound significantly better live than they do on a screen. The only time it seems to work the other way is when "mediocre" bands sound better on YouTube than they do live, but I won't name names...
You might want to check out Twist OFF or the Pink Panther....
Henry Hill26 said:Hey ladies,
Has anyone heard anything about the Radisson? I’m totally digging the location and the overall vibe, but I can't find a single soul who’s actually hosted a party there, let alone attended one.
If you've got any intel at all, please share. Thanks!

It’s all perfectly fine. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service holds up, and the food is decent enough...

Michelle Ross4 said:Man, I’m still dealing with the fallout from the catering situation... we almost pulled the trigger on Phoenix, and we actually went to their banquet last Saturday, but let me tell you, the food was an absolute train wreck. Every single course was worse than the one before it—just a total disaster.

Now we’re stuck trying to find a venue for about 250 people, and it feels like we’re backed into a corner. We’re looking at one of those two identical halls, but if we want to rent out the entire space, they charge us for 350 guests regardless of how many actually show up. So, we're basically stuck with half of that massive hall for our group.

Has anyone here actually been to a party there with a crowd around 250? Can everyone actually fit comfortably, and is the buffet area a decent size? The manager is trying to sell us on the idea that it works perfectly fine, but honestly, we're pretty skeptical and would love some real-world examples before we commit.

Please, if anyone has any insight, help us out.

Thanks!

You can fit 250 people, and the dance floor is perfectly fine.🙂

placideagle10 said:First and foremost, I need to know about the food—is it actually delicious? Also, how is the lighting in the room itself? I’m really not planning on bringing in any extra lighting rigs. Oh, and do you happen to know if there's a specific cutoff time for when guests have to head out?
I have to say, this particular room is one of my absolute favorites, mostly because it’s so close to the pool. 🙂 I'm currently torn between this space, the old Aria, Kokolo, and the Atrium.

The catering is decent enough; I can't find much to complain about. As for the lighting, it’s fine... it won't match the intensity of a custom rental setup, but it gets the job done. If your band brings their own stage lights and some effects, that should be more than sufficient...
I feel the same way about Aria, but as for the Atrium... I don't know... it just doesn't feel worth the price tag to me. Personally, I think the food at the Pirate is the best, though you have to keep in mind that the Pirate only holds up to 130 people since it's a smaller venue.
But honestly, at the end of the day... everyone has different tastes, some prefer one thing, others another, and everyone has their own preferences. The main thing is ensuring nothing is outright terrible, because once things go south, it's a disaster... everything else is just a matter of personal taste...

Has anyone here actually stayed at the Radisson Blu? I’d really appreciate any feedback or insights you might have 🙂

The atmosphere and the layout of the ballroom itself are a perfect ten; everything is genuinely tasteful. As for the food, it’s very much that standard hotel fare where they serve individual plates to everyone—it lacks that certain "home-cooked" soul, though I'm not entirely sure what else they put on the menu. One thing to keep in mind is that drinks, especially water, come with an extra charge, so just the bill for the water alone can end up being quite a hit to the wallet... I'm not sure what else you'd want to know...
