I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how organizations handle internal drama, especially when it involves personal accusations or interpersonal conflicts. It feels like we're seeing more and more instances where a sudden, unexplained change in status—like someone being sidelined or suddenly absent from the lineup—happens right when things get messy behind the scenes.
In my own career, I've seen managers use "the freeze" as a way to navigate sensitive situations. It’s rarely about the actual issue at hand and more about a desperate attempt to control the narrative or just create distance while the dust settles. It’s such a weird, passive-aggressive way to manage people, though, isn't it? Instead of addressing the elephant in the room, they just move the pieces on the board to avoid the mess.
Do you think these sudden shifts in personnel are actually about maintaining professional standards, or is it just a way for leadership to avoid dealing with the fallout of a scandal?
I actually picked up my wedding dress at a clearance sale—I’ve mentioned the details of where and how before $433. It was this massive princess-style ballgown, and I ended up reselling it for $800 just to pass the luck on to someone else like me 😍. I noticed some people asking about the cake... mine was from a local bakery in Brooklyn, you can find them on Facebook under "My Little Sweets." It was a four-tier masterpiece with custom designs I picked out myself, featuring a Ferrero Rocher flavor, $400. It was incredible, honestly, just like everything else they made. If anyone is looking for a quartet, I’ll always recommend Square Band, and our photographer Mladen did an absolutely stellar job, even if we had to wait a while for the shots ☕
We just got some preview shots back, and I have to say, they look amazing. If the final result matches this quality, the wait will be totally worth it... 😍 http://i43.tinypic.com/68abew.jpg

They gave us one DVD first to check out and see if we wanted any tweaks... we did have some changes, but they handled them without any drama. Then all 10 DVDs arrived about 15 days after that. We’re super happy with how the photos and the DVDs turned out. The album looks amazing 😍
I'm glad everything went smoothly. We'll just have to see how this next one turns out... hopefully it's actually worth the wait... 😛
gentlewolf69 said:If your contract actually specifies a deadline for when the photos and video need to be handed over, then yeah, you definitely have some leverage to hold back a portion of the payment. If it helps at all, my wedding was back on August 31st, and we haven't seen a single thing yet... honestly, I don't see them being ready for at least another two weeks, maybe longer... but the catch is, we didn't sign a formal contract, let alone one that laid out a specific timeline for the final products.
It’s the exact same situation for us. He kept the "contract"—which was basically just a sheet of paper where he jotted down our info—so we're stuck too. But August 31st really was a long time ago. We went with a cheaper option, but I can already tell I'm going to regret trying to save a buck. The photo invitations were stunning, truly mind-blowing, and the thank-you cards? God help us. My groom ended up looking like some weird hybrid of a zombie and a vampire because they went way too heavy on the Photoshop. Who knows what the actual photos will look like... if they aren't terrible, I won't even bother with 🤷
So, it's me again, checking in nearly four months after the big party 😛 We’re still stuck waiting on those damn photos and videos... the photographer keeps dragging his feet. Do you guys think they should drop the price if they're two months late on delivery??? 😠
Hey there, Amy Johnson! Just wanted to give you a quick update on how everything went on October 5th. Just a heads-up: things might not go exactly according to your plan, but honestly, that doesn't even matter. As long as the vibe is right and everything else falls into place... you'll be happy. It was pouring rain on us, so you can imagine what painting the flowers was like that day. The florist really threw colors and textures together, but hey, it worked out. And my dear husband? He looked like total Bigfoot in those thank-you photos. The biggest mess was at the church, where the priest ended up being the star of the show. He actually messed up my name twice, which had everyone dying laughing. To top it all off, he dropped a massive iron cross right on the floor, and people were absolutely rolling. He just casually picked it up and said, "Well, thank goodness it's iron, so it didn't break!" Plus, he didn't move the pews out of the way, so I felt like a princess in a giant ballgown trying to navigate through the narrow aisles toward the altar, with my dad following right behind me. 😂 But overall, we are so happy with the bonfire, surrounded by such a lively and upbeat crowd that stayed with us until 6 AM. Even the band—think Motley Crue vibes—was awesome. These little mishaps are just going to become great stories we tell for years. RELAX AND ENJOY IT!!!!!😍
I honestly don't know how you ladies are handling bachelorette parties lately, but it feels like in this part of the country, it's actually easier to track down drugs than it is to find a decent stripper? Help?🙂
analoglynx17 said:Hey guys, have you picked out a cake yet? And where from? I'm curious about how the prices are looking lately.
My husband and I finally made a decision. We’re going with a traditional cake instead of a croquembouche. As for the cost, I know if you go to a local bakery like Magnolia Bakery, a four-tier cake will run you about $450, but at somewhere high-end like Magnolia's fancy sister shop, it could be closer to $1233. We actually placed our order with the same lady who's handling all our desserts—she runs this amazing little home bakery in Brooklyn that everyone follows on Facebook called "My Sweet Treats." She's making us a four-tier cake for $400. I hope that helps! I'll check back in three weeks and let you know how everything tastes...😍
Hey everyone, I’m finally back after what feels like an eternity... since the date is creeping up on us, 😍 I see the debate about bands and salads is heating up again. Maybe I'm totally out of the loop here, but I was wondering if any of you ever installed extensions before using Pir or were even thinking about doing it?🤷
placideagle10 said:Could you do me a huge favor and tell me about that party where they played? Did they manage to keep the energy up all night long, or were there those inevitable highs and lows? I'm dying to know if the vibe was truly great.
They really pay attention to the type of crowd attending, so they look for ways to really level up the experience. 😁 They play until the very end—they don't just pack up early like some other bands do. People genuinely love them... 🤷 They stick to the newer hits quite a bit, which is great, but they also sing foreign songs too. I don't think it's too laid back, but honestly, it's all about what you agree on. We’ll probably meet with them again about a week before the big event to go over our specific requests and wishes—and they are always willing to work with us. I even asked if my guests could join in on the singing, since I have a few people who usually kill it and sing in other bands, etc., and they told me it was totally fine... as long as everyone stays respectful and doesn't go stumbling around with drinks near their equipment.😂
Amy Johnson said:Bambola, are you absolutely certain Mladen is only charging 1,000 bucks? Because when I asked him for a ballpark figure, he told me that was just for the base package... but since you’ve got the book plus the extra stuff for the parents, it seems way too low to me.
The base package is $1,000, and the parent books are $100, so we're looking at about $1,100 total
Michelle Ross4 said:Dice is definitely on my shortlist as well... every single time I hear they’re playing a wedding or see them performing at some other bash, everyone is raving about them... and now here you are, confirming what I already suspected.
I think I've finally made up my mind, too. 😉
The other day I saw on their Facebook page that they actually collaborated with Thompson (or maybe just their lead singer)... I can't wait to see what kind of vibe they'll bring to mine 🙂))) As for the photography, I went with Mladen. With him, we get a photographer plus video, a photo book, albums for the parents, a canvas print, and about 10 DVDs for roughly $1,100—maybe a little more. We're also getting a radio and invitations with photos included. I am just so overwhelmed with excitement, I can hardly wait to pass everything around 😍
placideagle10 said:I was hoping to get some advice regarding the band kocka—does anyone here have any intel on them, or perhaps someone who caught one of their live sets recently? My other options are Matko and Brane. I'm really torn on which direction to go with this choice. It’s becoming a bit of an urgent situation for me...
I booked kocka for October 5th. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and I actually caught one of their gigs once and they were awesome. The guy we coordinated with for the band details was totally chill and easy to work with. Honestly, it's so hard to snag a date with them. We didn't even reach out until early December, and they were already busy scheduling someone for September 28th. They must be in high demand...🤷
How’s the vibe over at Sweet Corner? My husband and I dropped by the other day just to get a feel for things... A slice of cheesecake there is $450, but I’m dying to know about the actual flavors. I can't stand that cardboard taste you get with store-bought cakes, it's just 🙂 ...
gentlewolf69 said:My husband actually told me they shouldn't have invited that doctor at all, saying I could have filled in for her since I spend every month lecturing him about the exact same things using the exact same phrases she used. 😂 John was definitely funny, but I don't agree with some of his takes either, especially regarding IVF and that whole thing about "husband's rights" versus "wife's duties"—even if he phrased it jokingly—and then the suggestion that we should avoid purple because it's a funeral color, which was just 😲 (my decor is actually going to be purple, and since he doesn't really like it, he immediately started commenting that we'll have to scrap any purple at all) and that we should stick to white because it represents joy and love and so on. To me, it's nothing but superstition and nonsense. Does that mean everyone is supposed to have white flowers and white bouquets? Honestly, these color debates are so trivial, I don't even want to waste my energy on them.
I agree with everything you said. Just to correct my mistake earlier, John Doe was actually here tonight; I got them mixed up since they both share the name Ivan. 🙂 Those two were definitely my favorites this evening, while the doctor was easily the most boring part of it all... ☕ I'm just relieved the confirmation is official. One less thing on the checklist, whew! 🙄
Thomas Cruz9 said:How far in advance of the feast should one ideally complete the course (according to what the priests usually recommend)?
A few people were mentioned by accident today, and they said their wedding is on May 4th. If I heard that right, it sounds like you can actually wait until the last minute. But then again, George W. Bush mentioned yesterday that doing it a couple of months in advance is better. As for my impressions... the first day was a bit dull, but today was definitely an improvement. John Doe spoke—he's such a hilarious guy, though I didn't quite see eye-to-eye with everything he said. The second speaker was some doctor talking about menstruation, ovulation, fertile windows, and various health issues. Honestly, I found it pretty tedious since I already know all that, though I'm sure it was helpful for some. All in all, even if it feels exhausting to sit through this after a full workday, the experience is still worth it. Even if you disagree with the speakers, it gives you so much to talk about later. My husband and I haven't stopped chatting in the car...😂 sorry if I'm overwhelming you all!
Jack Murphy7 said:Don't bother going. I work just up the street from Bank of America—when I head out for lunch, I'll swing by the cathedral and see if I can transcribe it, assuming they're open. If they are, I'll let everyone know around 2:00...
My priest actually told us to be there this Sunday (the 14th) at 7:30 PM 🤷
