I did a trial run for my makeup, because there is zero chance I'm letting someone touch my face on the actual wedding day if they're going to mess it up... it’s all about seeing how they actually work. You don't necessarily have to love the specific shade they pick or anything, you just need to know their technique is solid and everything is being done right. Plus, my photographer told me that the makeup doesn't even matter much for the photos since he’s going to retouch them anyway. And honestly? If you're good-looking, you're good-looking, whether you're wearing makeup or not. That's just my take... it really depends on if you're more of a natural person or if you're the type who does a full face every single day just to go out. That's just what I think. Sometimes it’s actually better to just do it yourself rather than letting some stranger do it for you.
Can anyone point me toward a good instructor for a quick dance class or maybe some choreography for a first dance? The wedding is only 20 days away... and I really want our first dance to look beautiful 🙂>
I need some advice from my fellow Asheville locals... I'm looking to pick up some local cakes and those signature pastries. So far, I've heard the cakes are around $67 and the pastries go for $1.25 per piece. If anyone knows a spot that’s actually affordable but still tastes amazing, please hit me up...
Hey, so I picked up that Tonia set—the one from the promenade over by the pier, though I'm not sure if it's the exact same version they have down in San Diego... anyway, the photos I saw were absolutely stunning, just perfect. And honestly? Trust me, the price is a total steal compared to anything else out there for what you actually get. You really don't even need to second-guess it.
We ended up grabbing Tony’s photos, and man, they are absolutely insane... way cheaper than what anyone else was charging. Does anyone know where I can snag some cheap car decals? I checked at AutoZone, and they have a 20-pack for $17, and the decals are about 2 inches wide—standard size, right? But then I saw on eBay that you can get a 50-pack for $28, which is basically the same price as getting them at Walmart. Does anyone know if there's an even better deal out there, or is this pretty much it?
We finally locked in the venue and the band, yippee! It’s all set for September 11th... and now we're officially on the hunt for a photographer. Does anyone here have any experience with Toni Photo Studio over in San Diego? Not the one in Solon, but the one in San Diego... wondering if they're actually any good...
Bambola, are you absolutely certain Mladen is only charging 1,000 bucks? Because when I asked him for a ballpark figure, he told me that was just for the base package... but since you’ve got the book plus the extra stuff for the parents, it seems way too low to me.
I was asking the girls in that thread about destination weddings over the border because the wedding venues here in San Francisco are literally double the price... but nobody's saying anything, so I figured I'd just ask you guys instead. If anyone knows a decent venue, please let me know. So far, I found one spot near Philadelphia that carries Demetrios dresses, which is my absolute favorite brand right now.

here's a link, they do rentals for gazebos and tents so just take a look... not sure if it's exactly what you're hunting for though...

I haven't actually gone club hopping myself yet, but I've heard some prices... though don't take my word as gospel. Anyway, places like Bolero, Aria, or Friends are around $45, while that spot in the suburbs is about $38—I even saw a mention of something for $30 recently. Then you've got Robot and Imenjak listed on TTTS for maybe $38 and up. Honestly, if you head further out of the city, it gets way cheaper... As for Friends, I was at a party there with like a hundred people once. Didn't really do it for me. Low ceilings, too many pillars, tiny dance floor...
Aaron Brown7 said:Hey girls... I wanted to pick your brains for a second. I was just looking into lighting options for the wedding reception and got a quote for $1667... honestly, it feels a little steep to me, if you know what I mean. What do you all think? 🙂
So, I went to the wedding fair and Rabbit Rock is asking for $2000, but honestly, it really depends on how many people are in the room, the size of the venue, if it's right in town or if they have to drive out to some remote spot... but my husband and I could tell immediately that the guy explaining everything actually knows his stuff, which is why we liked them even more...

Well, Target has a 30% off sitewide sale right now, so you might snag a better deal there... though personally, I think Trader Joe's usually beats them on price. Just hit up both and see what happens... :-)
Does anyone know if there are dance classes specifically for newlyweds? Like, where you could actually put together a custom routine for the first dance or maybe something to do right in the middle of the reception? Also... any idea how much that usually runs me...
Look, I’ve been seeing all these posts about makeup, and honestly... what I can tell you is that Lucy Smith does an incredible job. She’s also just a genuinely great person. I actually worked for the same company she’s with, so trust me on this one—you won't regret booking her.

It really comes down to what you're looking for—their setlist isn't centered on English tracks, which matters to some people (like an Uber band, for instance—they're great, just wasn't our vibe). But the atmosphere they create? Top-tier. Of course, that depends on the crowd, but they did their part perfectly. I think they even picked up two or three gigs right then and there from relatives and friends who were already thinking about weddings. Even a year later, whenever our wedding comes up, everyone raves about how they haven't heard music that good or seen a dance floor that packed in ages. They play exactly what you agree on. They've added a female vocalist too—heard she's great, though I haven't heard her myself so I can't say for sure. That's just my take 😉
Hey, could you send me the contact info for the Volare band? Thanks! 🙂
Hey, does anyone happen to have a contact number for that Duo—father and son—from the San Francisco area? I went to a wedding where they played and honestly, they were fantastic... just really hit the spot. But I haven't looked into their rates yet, and I'm curious if anyone here has actually hired them before or has any thoughts on their vibe.
