We just booked the sky and now we're starting the hunt for the perfect band.. We've got Bravo Band on our minds, so if anyone could share some recent experiences with them, that would be amazing. We've already reached out and talked numbers. My musical taste is kind of all over the place—a mix of everything local and international, I guess. Thanks so much!
I mean, I guess those glass walls could probably be closed off... I’ve been scrolling through some photos online and honestly, I really love the look of it. My only real hang-up is that whole layout where you have to walk right through the center just to get into the restaurant. It just feels a little off to me, you know? Price-wise, it’s definitely more affordable than the President, though they'd likely try to upcharge us on food and we'd end up needing more chairs too... I'm just going a little crazy because we're still totally indecisive about it all..
For me, it’s all about the vibe. I just really want everyone to have a blast and actually get out there on the dance floor, you know? We're looking at a crowd of maybe 200 people. As for the DJ, we're currently torn between Snoop Dogg and the White House... I guess we need to make a call and get everything booked within the next few days.
Oh, that sounds awesome for a wallpaper... I mean, what was the whole vibe like there? Does it bother you being stuck in a basement without any windows? And man, do you really think it’s worth dropping that much cash when you have to factor in the cost of food? Thanks!
Hey everyone! So, over the last few days, we’ve been checking out the Sky restaurant, the Say yes i hotel President ballroom, and the hotel itself over in Solin. Honestly, the guy I'm with is totally loving the Hotel President vibe. But for me... I don't know, the wallpaper is just kind of bothering me? I guess I'm worried about whether it might be distracting while dancing or something. And most importantly—how's the food? If anyone could give me the scoop, I’d be super grateful.
Based on all the other comments, I’ve pretty much gathered that there’s just no way they can fit 200 people in there... I really don't want to be squeezed in like a sardine, especially since I won't have any room left to actually dance. Thanks
I know both spots, honestly :-) especially those Radman’s grinders. But yeah, that’s probably not going to work out. I mean, I have to stick to what he wants, I guess. :-) Plus, there's going to be a ton of people coming from Split, so staying in Split just makes more sense for them too. Either way, thanks!
Thanks for the reply... Honestly, things with Sky are just getting better and better, I'm really starting to love it. He's originally from Split, but I'm from somewhere near Omis. We’re thinking about getting married at my local church, mostly because traveling that far would be a huge hassle. But he’s really set on having it in Split... I’m kind of worried the guest list might top 200, and I really don't want to pick a venue where we'll all be tripping over each other. I guess I'm just expecting a bunch of people to flake out anyway.
That’s what he told me, I guess... though I'm not really sure what all the variables are. I actually called up some restaurants for the first time today. I honestly have no clue, I was just typing out what he said to me.
The guy I was chatting with mentioned they have a standard menu... prices usually float somewhere between $45 and $35. If we book for a Friday or Sunday, he said we could get it for $35. When I told him we’re looking at around 200 guests, he suggested maybe $40. A $500 deposit is required, and they can accommodate up to 320 people. I really love that whole pool situation... :-) I wonder if there's enough room for dancing though? That's pretty important to me. Is Velum any good? I'm leaning towards it since being so close to the ocean sounds lovely...
So, I just got off the phone with Sky and checked out a few other halls and restaurants a bit ago. Prices seem to be hovering somewhere between $45 and $50... I mean, I can definitely keep calling them myself, but honestly, I’m more interested in hearing from people who have actually been there for weddings.. I reached out to Aria Bolero Sky Velum And Kadena—they said they can fit about 120 people there.
If any of you know anything at all, could you maybe write a few words about each place?.. Or if you have a recommendation, let me know!
I didn't actually ask if we could bring our own drinks... the food is $133. But honestly, I just don't want to drop that much cash on a wedding. I even reached out to a pirate. He already sent me some info. I'm not sure what my guy is going to think about everything... I really don't want things to feel too crowded. We're definitely looking at more than 200 guests... Our biggest headache is trying to visit all these venues since we're both based in NYC. My boyfriend is working full-time, and I'm still grinding away to finish up college at NYU.
Radisson is out, I just called them. They scrapped those three different packages they had before. Now they’re only offering one single option. The food is included $133, but drinks? You gotta pay extra for those. You have to choose between a $9 or a $35 per person deal for beverages. If you go with the $35 one, it's all-you-can-drink. But if you pick the $9 version, you just get a glass of wine and beer, plus sodas and water—though I guess that's not really an unlimited thing... I ended up at a total of $90 per head because I was asking for everything in dollars. For 200 people, we're looking at $18,000. Thanks, but hard pass...
There’s a chance we might end up with more than 200 people, but I’m betting on some cancellations. So, it'll probably settle down to around 200 or so. We really need to make sure there are plenty of young people there—I’d hate for them to have nowhere to dance... Everyone keeps raving about the pirate, and especially the food... We haven't officially locked in a date yet. Still tossing ideas around. September is definitely the plan, though. I'm also curious about how the Radisson looks when you're right by the beach. Could someone clarify that for me? Is it an outdoor setup or what?? I really don't want to be looking at a $55 cover charge. Thanks everyone for the help
I’ve been reading through so many lovely comments about Guasar and, honestly, I’m just loving it. Personally, I’m leaning more towards a casual lounge or maybe a nice restaurant, though that guy seems pretty set on doing a hotel thing... Does anyone know what the per-seat cost looks like, and how many people are we actually expecting to show up??
