Does anyone happen to know what Tonc Cerin, Sinisa Srdanovic, or Studio Smiliti are charging these days?
Also, does anyone have the scoop on Taxi Band? I'm wondering about their rates and if they stick strictly to rock or if they mix things up. Thanks! 🙂

I actually caught them playing at a party this past weekend, and 🙂 while I didn't catch their exact rate, I can tell you they aren't just a one-trick pony when it comes to rock—though they definitely lean that way. If you're looking for someone who plays heavy pop or country, they probably won't be your first pick, but otherwise, they're a pretty solid group. 🙂

I’m looking into booking Sky for a party next year for about 230-250 people, but I’ve heard some rumors lately that the space might be too small for a group that size... specifically that the dance floor would end up feeling tiny. I was wondering if any of you have been there or hosted an event there before? What do you all think?

I’m not sure if this counts as actual help, but here is my two cents. 🙂
As far as Sky goes as a restaurant, it isn't actually small; they handle weddings for 350-400 people without breaking a sweat. However, when it comes to the dance floor itself, it is true that the proportions aren't exactly ideal relative to the total capacity. 🙂 In other words, if you have a crowd that loves to dance and half of them get up at once, things are going to feel pretty crowded. 🙂 As for everything else, you won't make a mistake, though in my humble opinion, their service can be a bit overdeveloped (and quite pricey). For a wedding of that scale, if I weren't looking at Sky, my top picks would definitely be: 1) Lara Restaurant (Rose Bowl) or 2) Hotel del Coronado (Malibu). 🙂

I’ve been spending a little time lately reading through everyone’s thoughts on various venues, the catering, the staff, and all that, and since I find myself in rather a peculiar situation—having two weddings to attend at the exact same location over the next two weekends—I felt compelled to share my impressions after experiencing the first one at Lora Restaurant at Poljud. Last week's reception hosted about 170 guests spread across 19 tables, held entirely on the restaurant's terrace, which, in my estimation, is a massive advantage over other venues; being so close to the ocean and the natural scenery makes a world of difference when the weather actually cooperates. The manager is a true professional, and we were quite literally allowed to decide whether we wanted the ceremony indoors or outdoors right up until the very last minute. As for the food, it was genuinely, exceptionally good (my only minor grievance being directed at the groom, who decided to ban alcohol after just an hour 🙂). It is abundantly clear that the staff is expertly managed to ensure such seamless service; you have servers who don't hover unnecessarily, yet they possess that uncanny ability to notice the moment something is missing and bring it out before you even realize you need to ask; all while maintaining an incredible level of politeness throughout the entire evening. I am genuinely curious to see if they can replicate this level of performance next weekend for a much larger crowd of 280 people...
My only real complaint would be Jessy band and their somewhat vague and lackluster repertoire 👎
All things considered, having attended dozens of weddings, I would personally rank them number one when it comes to service 😉
