Hey everyone, just giving you a heads-up in case anyone was counting on me—unfortunately, we’ve gotta push back the wedding. If anyone is in a major bind, here’s the scoop for September 12th, 2015: the venue is John Doe, the group is at 7-Eleven, the video will be handled by Leo Bartulica, and Kelly Clarkson is doing the makeup, so hopefully that helps someone out at the last minute..
darkheron13 said:I’m wondering how much lead time you guys actually needed to lock in the cake, makeup, and hair... and when did you all head in for dress fittings? I was thinking about getting my dress custom-made just a month before the big day, but now I’m starting to wonder if that’s cutting it too close?
I’ve got the basic stuff handled—things that definitely should have been settled sooner—but beyond that, not really. Now I’m looking at a mountain of work ahead of me, on top of everything else, so I need to figure out how to organize my life and squeeze everything in. I’ll check out the details whenever I can, there’s so much useful info out there, but man, it's a lot to take in...
Is a month really enough time for all those little details? I know invitations probably need to go out way earlier than that...

How long did it actually take you guys to get all those tiny little things organized?

I just finally settled on the cake, and my wedding isn't until September. I picked my hair stylist recently, but since I know her so well, it wasn't a huge deal, and I actually booked my makeup artist last year because the popular ones stay booked up forever. As for the dress, it really depends on what you're looking for; if you want something simple, a month might be plenty, but honestly, it all comes down to who you're working with...

Joseph Thomas7 said:Bobby ... you can actually find their full catalog online here and they also take custom orders.

I once heard a recommendation for Mediterranean Sweets—someone suggested them to me too—but the logistics were a nightmare because getting my specific "croquant vision" delivered from their location was just too far out of the way for me.

At any rate, you can find Bobby on almost every street corner, and even if the wedding isn't being held in San Francisco, they shouldn't have any trouble delivering it straight to the venue.👍

Thanks so much! 👍 :-)

Does anyone know where I can grab some decent brittle? I'm definitely not feeling Zenith, and while I stopped by Viacom, their treats weren't really my thing, even though the cookies were actually pretty good..

So I actually went out looking for some pieces just the other day and after checking out all the different jewelers in the city, I ended up going to Vagus because they seriously have a massive selection and their prices are super reasonable, plus I was worried about getting hit with a huge $1333, but they actually gave me a discount and ended up making it $833, and since I was specifically hunting for stuff with zircons, they were really the only ones with a decent variety to choose from so I'm totally happy with how it turned out...😁

Chloe Thompson71 said:Heyyy everyone! 🙂)) quick question—does anyone know what the damage is for the snacks over at Zenith? Like, how much are those crunchy ones running? Thanks so muchooo!

When I was looking for a croquembouche cake, I was really hunting for something about 20 inches tall $833, which might be totally fine for some people, but honestly, it felt like a total waste of money to me, though I did spot in their catalog that they have stuff at Saint Duje starting from around $333 and up, and obviously the final price changes based on whether you want Ticino or slag or whatever decorations you pick, so you should probably just go grab a catalog and check out the pricing yourself... I'm actually heading over to Viacom in a few days, so I'll let you know what the damage is once I see them...

Matthew Ross11 said:Hey everyone, before I dive into the last 50 pages of this forum 🙄🙄🙄 I need a few recommendations (feel free to PM me)

Venue for the reception—around 250 guests; needs enough space. Right now, I’m looking at Bolero or Dolis; if you have any other suggestions, let me know.👍

Band—budget up to $2,000. I'm considering Barbary, Best, or Boss; any similar recommendations?

Photographer—this is my biggest dilemma. I liked Bonačić Studio, but I really want to see some other options first.

Thanks in advance to everyone! :klap::klap::klap:

Sky, I heard from Joker that things are looking pretty good over at the club.
Yeah, I'm totally down with that joke too.
Honestly, if you ask me, the only spots around Dugopolje that actually worth checking out are Dolis and...
Lesnina Band
Jessie Bend:
Honestly, they’re so incredible I wouldn't even dream of thinking otherwise—just totally perfect.

Photographer:
It really just comes down to what you're into, but honestly, Raos Studio hits it out of the park with their shots every single time, and Tony Cerin is just straight-up legendary, plus you can't go wrong with Jukica Studio or Smiliti either.

You can get amazing shots anywhere if the couple is relaxed.🙂

Thanks a ton!☺

Anyone got some ideas for a cool spot to do a photoshoot? Somewhere that isn't right in the middle of downtown San Francisco... thanks!

Joshua Fowler3 said:I looked into Imenjak too, but my guest list is over 200 people. I’m worried about it getting way too crowded, so I was leaning toward Robot instead. Thanks so much for the input.

No worries at all... though I definitely think 200 is pushing it, because I heard 180 is actually the sweet spot, and once you hit 200 you might lose those nice round table setups, but hey, someone else will probably chime in about the robot and give you a better idea, and personally, I had a great time there too..

Joshua Fowler3 said:Hey everyone, I could use some help here. Has anyone actually eaten at Poljud Restaurant lately? It’s one of my top three picks for a pizza party next year, but I haven't been able to get much intel on the food quality or the service staff so far... If you could weigh in, I’d really appreciate it.

I can't speak for this year specifically, but when I went last year, the venue was super nice, the food was great, and the servers were really helpful, though honestly, I ended up picking imenjak for my own big celebration because it's just better... the food there is absolutely killer, it's just a shame they can't fit a ton of people in there.

Joseph Thomas7 said:Does anyone happen to have a contact email for Bobis? I'm wondering if they're even still in business.

I am looking into getting some croquants made. My partner and I are interested in a slightly more unique shape than what you usually see, so I wanted to reach out and see what their offerings look like. Based on some recommendations from other women on this forum, I reached out to Zenit—I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about them from all directions. I spoke with them to explain my idea, and they were very easy to deal with; nothing too complicated, and they confirmed it's doable... though the price was 🙂 ... quite high. So, I'm currently gathering a few different quotes to compare...

Aside from Bobis, Bimita, Mediterranean, and Zenit, does anyone know of any other places that make croquants in the greater San Francisco area?🤔

I actually dropped by Zenit myself and the price tag totally floored me, though I did hear that Viadel is awesome and way more budget-friendly than the rest... they do croquante too... so I definitely need to check them out...

Carol Martin3 said:Hey everyone, has anyone here ever actually picked up one of those Rakijici vouchers as a thank-you gift? I’m totally lost on where to find them—I remember seeing them floating around at trade shows and expos, but I don't have a single flyer or brochure left in my house to look up the details... does anyone know the deal? Thanks!

I honestly haven't seen any pre-made ones for sale lately, but if you ask me, it's such a waste of money to buy them ready-to-go when you can just whip something up yourself for way less cash... I'm planning on making my own stuff, maybe some scented candles or even those cute little honey jars, something like that, because it just feels so much more special...

frozenhawk22 said:Can anyone recommend a solid hairstylist in San Francisco? I really need someone who has a steamer/hood available.🙂

It really just depends on what you're looking for, honestly. From what I know, Dalila is pretty solid if you're going for those classic wedding expo vibes—they usually handle the more polished styles at those big events. If you're just after something low-key like some loose curls, I'm pretty sure any stylist can knock that out for you without any trouble.

David King72 said:Magnolia Bakery - their treats are $12 both creamy and crumbly

If you need a choir for a church, you should definitely reach out to chunky—they're absolutely top-tier.

For catering, check out local BBQ joints or steakhouse platters

Thanks a ton!

Hey guys, you're being way too quiet in here... help a person out!

I'm looking to book some catering, a choir for a church service, and I'm also on the hunt for some killer desserts. I heard Viadel is pretty solid, but when it comes to $12, do they do those creamy, custard-style cakes?
Thanks
I checked out La Perle and honestly, the shop is amazing—the staff is super chill and the dresses are easily the best I’ve seen yet.
Britney Spears has nothing on those options; while her site only shows a few wedding gowns, this boutique has a catalog with at least 30 different styles. $23As for the "fashion consulting," I wasn't really expecting much, but even though she’s got quite a reputation, the woman working there is actually really sweet and easy to talk to.
Mila over in San Francisco has decent dresses, but the lady there can be a bit much to deal with...
If anyone is looking for candelabras, check out Rose $150(for rentals), Fancy Flowers $83, or Ira $83; if you end up booking them both, $33 then Ira also gives a bulk discount of about 10%.
Also, does anyone happen to know what Arcade’s catering prices are? They haven't updated their pricing in forever, so I’m not sure if the old rates still apply. Or maybe someone can recommend a different caterer?
As far as I know, you can just return whatever you don't finish at a Starbucks. A buddy of mine actually made me one exactly like that once...
Nathan Watson2 said:I actually caught them playing at a party this past weekend, and 🙂 while I didn't catch their exact rate, I can tell you they aren't just a one-trick pony when it comes to rock—though they definitely lean that way. If you're looking for someone who plays heavy pop or country, they probably won't be your first pick, but otherwise, they're a pretty solid group. 🙂

Noah Wright4 said:I spent the weekend working at a party with them, too. 😛

They’re great—mostly rock, pretty fun too. I think they go for around $2,400.

Thanks so much for the info! 👍 🙂
Hey guys, I could really use some help here... I'm looking for some intel on photographers and bands
Does anyone happen to know what Tonc Cerin, Sinisa Srdanovic, or Studio Smiliti are charging these days?
Also, does anyone have the scoop on Taxi Band? I'm wondering about their rates and if they stick strictly to rock or if they mix things up. Thanks! 🙂
