DIY Home Inhaler Tips!

Steam inhalation? Sure. With ephedrine? Absolutely not.
With steam inhalation, you're sending vapors straight into the lower respiratory tract, so you can't just mess around with it. You can use other medications in a nebulizer, but leave the actual therapy to a pediatrician. They won't just hand you a prescription without doing their job first—they listen to the kid. There’s a reason for that process.
So, that leaves us with the question: what can a parent actually do at home?
A little bit of Vicks VapoRub applied just inside the nostrils or some saline drops.
Maybe a nasal aspirator to try and clear out whatever plug is blocking the airway—though let's be real, it isn't a vacuum cleaner, so don't expect it to suck everything out on the first try.
And finally, you can do steam inhalation using just saline or maybe some chamomile tea (brewed without sugar and cooled down slightly)...
And, obviously, constant nose blowing.

First time I’m hearing that!
Long or short, if it’s rare, it stays rare.
Though you'll probably see it more often if it's short...
Personally, I wouldn't go near it.
