I am truly sorry you had to deal with such an experience. Honestly, I haven’t run into any issues with them myself—I suppose I just got luckier than you did.
I completely get why you're so heated; nothing gets under my skin quite like sheer unprofessionalism. But look, the important thing is that you finally got those invitations sorted out. Don't let it ruin your mood. :-)
Thanks, 🙂
Yeah, honestly, the main thing is that I finally got my hands on the invitations and I'm happy with how they turned out. I just felt like I had to share the story; maybe someone else can avoid the nightmare I went through. 😬
New question: do I need to present official documents during the pre-marital counseling course? My fiancé is stuck out at sea right now and there's zero chance he'll make it back in time for any of the scheduled sessions. Is it possible to bring a proxy or a stand-in instead? 😵
Just wanted to share my experience using invitationdesigners.com.
Four weeks ago, I left a comment on an Instagram photo asking if I could get a sample of one of their invitations. They got back to me that very same day, saying sure thing—just email over my address. So, I sent off the email with my shipping info and the specific invite code I was looking for.
I’ve been waiting for days—nothing, no response, no mail. A week goes by, I try reaching out on Instagram, crickets. Another week passes, I send a message on Facebook, and still, nothing. Eventually, I got fed up and decided to just call them myself to explain that I’ve been left hanging for weeks. And let me tell you, the lady on the other end was incredibly rude from the very first second. Instead of actually listening to my problem, she just kept talking over me in this condescending tone. She started making all these excuses about how they’re "just too busy," claiming they sent everything, insisting they reply to everyone, or blaming me by saying I must have missed their email in my spam folder. She even tried to claim the invitation got lost in the mail and suggested I should just pay for the shipping myself. It was just constant excuses. I had to stand my ground and tell her straight up that I check my spam folder every single day and haven't even touched my email since yesterday. I told her to stop making excuses, actually look for my message, and get back to me.
A few hours later, I get an email saying they’re sending me *another* invitation—picture attached. It’s an invite I never even asked for. Apparently, reading my two-sentence email was just too much work for them. I fired back immediately letting them know I didn't request this, but once again, total silence. No one responds.
I called them back after a few days, and she’s back at it again. I told her straight up: her last email was just some random picture of an invitation that I didn't even ask for, and once again, I haven't received a single actual answer. Honestly, if this is just some incompetent postal service issue, I don't care—I really don't mind paying an extra $20 or whatever it takes to get this sorted out. $17 If necessary. Once again, she just won't listen to a word I say. She starts raising her voice at me, insisting she hasn't seen any payment come through and claiming she doesn't owe me anything. Then she tells me they’re slammed with work and suggests I go somewhere else to find my invitations. I tried to play it cool and de-escalate things, telling her that I really just want those invitations and asking for an account number so I can settle the bill immediately—nothing's too much trouble on my end. She promised she'd send over a quote within half an hour. Well, okay then. Still nothing.
Next week is going to be a total disaster. I just want those damn invitations already—I haven’t been able to find them anywhere else, and I am honestly done searching. I don't even need that stupid pattern anymore; I'm just going to toss it. $167 So, here’s the plan. I’m going to send another email to clear the air. Even with the misunderstandings we've had, I want to let them know I’m still serious about ordering this specific amount of invitations. I'll ask them to shoot over the proofs and a formal quote. Once that email goes out, everything should run smoothly—I'm expecting to have those invitations in my hands within two days.
I sent my last email to say thanks, but once again, I haven't heard a single word back.
Bottom line: the invitations themselves are perfectly fine for what I paid. But their customer service? Absolute rock bottom. I don't think it’s asking too much for a potential client to ask if they can order a sample first—it's standard practice. It’s their call to say yes or no, simple as that. I wasn't expecting them to act like I was being ridiculous just because they said yes. Their website is plastered with all this fluff about how much they value customer feedback and how they’re always open to suggestions, blah blah blah... yet they can't even admit they might have missed an email or failed to reply. Total hypocrisy.
It took them maybe two days to prep, print, and ship those invitations all the way across the country, yet I spent nearly an entire month stressed out over the whole thing. If you actually like their work, my advice is to just place your order immediately—that’s probably the only way they’ll actually respond to you. As for anything else you might want to ask? Well, the lady told me straight up that I was better off looking somewhere else. 🙄
Has anyone else had trouble getting a hold of InvitationDesign.com? For some reason, they aren't responding to my emails, Facebook messages, or Instagram DMs. Has anyone dealt with them lately?

Lumen only has one item that really fits my vibe, but thanks anyway 😉
granitefox19 said:I actually placed an order with them recently. My invitations showed up in just three days—super fast. Everything was exactly what we discussed; the invites look beautiful, the envelopes were simple white, and I’m honestly thrilled with how they turned out. Before they go to print, they send you a digital proof via email so you can double-check everything and make sure it's perfect. I paid $1.25 per piece, plus $13 for shipping, and when I checked elsewhere in San Francisco, they were asking about $1 per invitation. 👍
That’s awesome! So glad to hear they turned out well 🙂 I definitely don't feel like dropping a dollar per invite either, especially since most designs I see lately look way too tacky for my taste.
Guess I don't need to keep hunting then! 🎉
One more question—how many people should I account for when ordering the wedding cake? Like, if I have 150 guests, should I get a cake sized for 50, 80, 100, or the full 150? I doubt everyone will eat a huge slice, but I wanted to double-check. 😁
So far we've checked off the venue, the photographer, and the band. We handled those right at the start, so I kept telling myself we had plenty of time. Now I'm looking at the calendar and realize I only have 3 months and 11 days left... suddenly it feels like we're running out of time fast. 🤦
Has anyone here actually used the website invitations.com? I found a few designs I really love, but the prices are so low it’s making me a little suspicious 😬
Also, has anyone ordered a wedding cake out in the suburbs? If you have, are the prices pretty standard or do they charge a huge premium for being out there?
Let me weigh in on Papaya studio too.
From the very first moment I saw their work on Facebook, I knew they were the ones. I got incredibly lucky that they actually had my date available, so we booked them over our first coffee—we didn't want to take any chances. They are such an approachable, young couple; chatting with them felt totally natural, almost like catching up with old friends rather than meeting someone for the first time in your life.
I have no idea how the photos will turn out, and I might change my mind about them once the wedding is over, but hey, eight months before the big day, I’m at least stress-free regarding this one thing. 😁
Besides them, my shortlist included Marinkovic, Beep studio, and M. Alajbeg. I never even heard back from Marinkovic after reaching out; honestly, I'm happy for him because his work is gorgeous, but it still stings a little feeling like you aren't "special" enough to get a response for your wedding. 🙂:
Beep studio was a bit pricier than Papaya, and for some reason I just found myself leaning more toward the Papaya crew. As for Alajbeg, his pricing caught me by surprise; if I couldn't book Papaya or if I had to slash my photography budget, I'm confident I wouldn't regret going with him.
For the music, we decided on the Phoenix group.
My only lingering doubt is the lighting. How much do I really need it? Is it actually worth spending the extra cash?
I saw a stunning cake today at a vendor's booth from a local confectionery—their business card says Art Cako M. Does anyone here have experience with them?
Also, has anyone ordered a wedding cake from Viadel? It’s driving me crazy that they don't have an online presence, so I can't tell if they do those trendy modern designs or just stick to the heavy, traditional classics.
Oh, and if anyone has a specific recommendation for somewhere that makes super simple, clean invitations, I’d really appreciate it! 😉
Has anyone actually hired both Casino and the Phoenix band for weddings before? I’m sure they can both hold a tune, but I’m torn on who really knows how to work a crowd and get everyone out on the dance floor. I'm seriously stuck on this decision. 😁

Thanks for all the input! 😉
The Rolling Stones is already booked, but Brava Band and Visa should be available.
Aura sounds great too, though it’s driving me crazy that I can't find a video of them playing a wedding.
Right now, I've got Uber, Casino, Phoenix, and Jessie on my list. Does anyone have any smart advice to help me narrow this down? 😬
Does anyone have some band recommendations? I haven't been out to many shows lately, so I'm feeling a bit out of the loop on who's actually worth seeing. I'm looking for both local acts and bigger names—and if you could include both male and female vocalists, that would be awesome!

I am a newcomer to this forum and these discussions. 🙂 As it happens, I am getting married quite soon. 🙂
I find myself in need of some guidance. Does anyone have recommendations for a seaside tavern or perhaps a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere? Most importantly, the food must be exceptional. I am looking to host a dinner for approximately 30 friends—all of them young—in the coastal area somewhere between Santa Monica and Huntington Beach.
I would be most grateful for any advice or personal experiences you might be willing to share.
Check out Joe's bar and restaurant in Honey right on the beach. The food is incredible, and the location is unbeatable—you're practically two feet from the water. 👍 They handle baptisms and first communions too, so I bet they'd be perfect for this.
Another option would be The Tavern in Savannah, right in the heart of downtown. The food there is also fantastic, just a slightly different vibe. It isn't right on the water, but everything else about it is top-notch! 👍
Or, you could try Millie over in Savannah. I haven't been back since the new owner took over, so I can't vouch for the food, but the location and the vibe are absolutely stellar.
