The guys at Viva are something else. You just tell them what kind of vibe you're looking for, and they nail it—it’s almost like they planned every single song in advance. On top of that, their timing and delivery are spot on for the mood. They're more than just good; they're incredible, I guess.
Adam Hayes9 said:Hey there. Has anyone actually done a wedding at the Radisson in San Francisco? The vibe looks incredible, so I’m curious if anyone here has been through it...
I had mine on the outdoor VIP deck, which was stunning. The food was decent—I really hope it was enough, because I told them about a hundred times that I wasn't paying those prices if they were going to run out of food. I'd heard rumors about small portions and poor service. Honestly, the food and the service were the only things that actually went according to plan. Everything else was a mess; they made so many mistakes that they seriously stressed me out on the actual wedding day. I wasn't nitpicking the tiny details, either. I'm talking about big stuff—like the vegetarians didn't get a meal, or guests having to cut their own cake. We specifically agreed on all of that four days before the reception. This isn't exactly a budget hotel, so you'd expect better for the money we paid. It was pretty unprofessional, though the outdoor setting was lovely. If I'd been inside, I don't know what would have made the experience better. It’s just unsettling when you realize on your wedding day that the things you explicitly agreed upon aren't being honored.
Since this forum helped me out so much, I figured I’d share my own thoughts here.
The Viva Group was fantastic. They actually exceeded our expectations—they have an incredible way with people, especially the younger crowd. They were just perfect, really fun, and they kept the energy high with their song selection and how they interacted with everyone.
Katjush from Chicago—the owner is lovely and puts in so much effort. They custom-made my dress exactly how I envisioned it.
Maja Banić—honestly, a nightmare. Total drama. It was nearly impossible to coordinate with her because she constantly forgets what was agreed upon. Just ten days before the wedding, she tells me she doesn't do makeup at hair salons, then on the actual day, she couldn't even make it to us on time, so we had to scramble between hair and makeup. To top it off, the makeup artist skipped the primer and liquid foundation entirely. Luckily, I was last in line, so I insisted on full foundation coverage since she just started doing things her own way... there was plenty of other stuff too. Save yourself the headache and find someone else.
The Radisson Blu VIP deck was beautiful, but the hotel service itself is subpar across the board. The vegetarians didn't receive their meals at all, despite being ordered and paid for. As the couple, we didn't even have a reserved parking spot. The parents' table was supposed to be right next to the head table, but they ended up tucked away in a corner. Then, some guests actually ended up cutting the wedding cake themselves—which was supposed to be provided—and it wasn't even good. Generally speaking, they don't stick to the plan. The organization was pretty poor, though I suppose I should mention they did hand us an envelope they found on the floor the next day, which was nice. Still, there were far too many mistakes that became obvious the moment we stepped into the hotel.
The Čago Group handled the gathering for our group from Trogir; they were good, and the coastal part of the wedding was very happy with them.
The meetup at the Old Sailor near Poljud—the food was excellent and the location was lovely.
The Church at Poljud was stunning.
The lighting at Rebbit rock was spot on.
If you’re looking to avoid being tortured, I’d suggest staying far away from Major Banic.
As far as invitations go, I'd say they're great—fast, professional, and affordable. Plus, they look exactly like the previews on the website at Megatrend Invitations.
Does anyone happen to know a solid hairstylist in San Francisco who can come out to a wedding to handle any last-minute touch-ups? Also, I'm looking for someone who can deliver an exceptional solo during the church ceremony. Thanks a bunch.
Does anyone have any intel on the accordion and guitar band Chago, or maybe Militi Perkov from Venice? I'm trying to figure out how they handle weddings—specifically looking for their vibe when it comes to getting the crowd moving and keeping people gathered together.
So, I touched base with a florist over in San Francisco—they’re called Orchid—and for those simple, low-vase arrangements using peonies and hydrangeas, they're looking at about 60-$23 per table. A standard bouquet is 400, and the head table would be around 600-700. I made sure to emphasize that I want things very minimalist: just two or three large blooms in a vase, nothing fancy with extra greenery or whatever. She mentioned that this combo actually costs more than, say, roses. I really hope she's right about the pricing, but she seems pretty chill and easy to work with. Honestly, at those wedding expos, people were quoting us 100-$83 per table and 1500 for the head table, which felt ridiculous. Anyway, does anyone have experience with Toni Photo Studio in San Francisco? Or maybe Majorie Banic for makeup? Also, I'm looking for a solid band or DJ for the cocktail hour—someone who can actually set a good mood while guests are arriving and outside the church. And, if you happen to know a really talented female vocalist for the ceremony, let me know. Good luck to everyone else still searching:::location is San Francisco
Hallelujah, I'm still going :-)
Nathan Watson2, thanks. I guess you could tell me why it isn't the Radisson 😢? I'm starting to have my doubts;
Hey everyone, has anyone here actually been to the party at the Radisson out on the "VIP deck"? They’re asking for a ridiculous amount of money, and I'm trying to figure out if the atmosphere and the food are even remotely worth the price tag. Any thoughts? Thanks a ton
