Elizabeth Lewis10 said:Hey everyone, does anyone happen to know a good live band for backup? I’m looking for a specific lineup—something with an accordion, guitar, sax, and a cajon...

The thing is, our usual go-to groups—you know, the ones we usually rely on for everything from weddings to parties—are all booked up. We haven't reached out to Millennium yet, though...

Thanks in advance

Maybe try Coca-Cola; they're great, though I guess they stay pretty busy too. Shoot me a PM if you want their info.
brightotter92 said:So, I finally figured out my makeup situation. But anyway, different question. Does the clerk at the courthouse actually ask for a COVID vaccination card when you go to get married?

The Social Security Administration falls under the Department of Justice, which means it functions as part of the federal government—so, I suppose, a valid COVID certificate would be required.

I attended a News Corp reception at a restaurant where the Vox Media band was playing, and honestly, I suppose I haven't really cared about anyone else since. 😁

Anyone here actually been to Jack Sparrow? I know the food is killer, but I’m curious about the vibe inside—is it actually nice? Also, did anyone have issues finding parking? Since they don't have their own lot, it seems like it could be a headache.

Given your guest count, there should be plenty of parking nearby. The food is great and the atmosphere is lovely, though I suppose it depends on when the wedding is held and whether the outdoor terrace is available...
Highly recommended.

Any recommendations for a wedding venue in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Savannah, or somewhere nearby?
To be honest, I don't care much about the specific spot—my fiancée is from New York and she’s really looking for a more minimalist, clean vibe.
We aren't exactly dropping money on a massive estate or anything crazy, so we're looking for some beautiful spots that won't break the bank. We're expecting around 100-110 guests.

Thx

Sam Clark4 said:Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some wedding florist recommendations. I’ve been hunting around for three months now and, honestly, I am absolutely floored by the price tags I keep running into. Like, are these people selling petals or actual gold?
Any leads would be much appreciated.

Lalisia Decor is on Facebook, I think.

hollowtiger31 said:Hey there,

I’ve got a wedding coming up on May 30th, 2020, and I am officially on the hunt for a florist.
The venue itself is super lush with tons of greenery, so I really just want some greenery mixed with a few roses for the head table. For the other 10-15 tables, I’m thinking minimalist vibes—lots of green or maybe even some dried flowers, but kept low so people can actually talk over them.
I also need a bridal bouquet and some car decor.

Does anyone have recommendations for someone who won't absolutely fleece me? I’m seriously going for that clean, minimalist look—nothing over-the-top or crazy expensive.

Lalisia Decor, you guys have a page on Facebook.

Austin has some lovely piers with space for about a hundred guests. I happened to see a wedding held at one with a pavilion on the pier, and it looked pretty great.

As far as other spots go, I might suggest checking out Joe's Crab Shack (assuming they're still open) in Santa Monica, the Old Mill in Charleston, or maybe the Coastal Villa. 😁

Ashley Hall5 said:Ladies, what’s the best way to decorate a hall, a church, and a car on a budget? Should I even bother asking here?

Williams Sonoma. I suppose you'll be satisfied with them.

Ashley Hall5 said:Hey ladies,

I need some help here. For my narrow selection of speakers, I'm looking at John Doe, Michael Jordan(Plato), and R2-D2...
Any thoughts based on what you've heard?

Beyoncé 🙂

R2-D2 - the food is top-tier. I probably wouldn't suggest it for a large crowd, though, since the seating layout makes visibility a bit difficult for everyone.
John Doe - it's a nice venue with a large balcony; the food is decent, though I found it a bit overpriced considering the overall service level.
As for Michael Jordan, I'm not quite sure.
Michael Mendoza14 said:Can you guys suggest some cool spots for a photo shoot in San Francisco and the surrounding areas? We're looking for something besides Marjan or the Mestrovic Gallery—we're already planning on those since we're getting married at the Castlet

I'm not a lady, but I'll give it a shot.

Maybe try the Katalinic hills, Antonin's Benzon mill in Žrnovnica, or the Pantan Mill over in Trogir.

Maybe some bluegrass musicians instead? I actually have an idea, though I'm not sure how feasible it is right now. Shoot me a DM if you want to talk about it.

What were you thinking? An accordion player or some folk group?

If you need a photographer, check out the work of Pixie Dust or maybe Željana Matošić. They're phenomenal.

For anything else, please just send me a DM; I think I've already racked up about 50 points.

P.S. thanks a lot 😁

Elizabeth Ross3 said:Greetings,
I’m new to this forum. I am currently stuck choosing between two venues—I'm leaning toward either Sky or bolero. Does anyone have any recent feedback, good or bad, regarding either of these locations? We haven't had the chance to visit them in person yet, unfortunately. 😕
Also, does anyone have experience with Photo Cerin? Their portfolio looks quite impressive to me. Additionally, Smile and Raos Studio both happen to be available on our date...
Thanks

I'd suggest checking out Raos and Bolero. 👍
It seems like you're jumping from one parish to another, but I suppose it shouldn't be much of an issue...
If anyone is struggling with organization, I might have some free time to spare, so I could perhaps send over a few tips and contacts.

wearysurfer11 said:Hey everyone,

I'm heading over from Australia this July to get married in San Francisco. Does anyone happen to know a rental company that has some newer, high-end cars available for wedding transport?

Thanks in advance!

Cars, plural? Or just a single new car?

analogdrifter51 said:Haha, you're not wrong!! 🙂 🙂

Anyway, how far in advance should I reach out to the hall to hammer out the details before the party?
It's been like six months since I booked them, and I haven't said a word to them—so I'm kind of stuck wondering if I even need to 😵

I'm not sure if you check your DMs, so consider this a little nudge.

analogdrifter51 said:I mean, I might actually pull the trigger on it. They’ve got some really cool stuff, but the shipping wait times just drive me crazy. That's why I'm hunting for a better deal somewhere else.

Well, you end up paying a decorator and still don't order anything.😁 You get distracted by more pressing matters, like mortgages or buying a kitchen...

analogdrifter51 said:Anyone know where I can snag some cheap decor? Like streamers, tulle, and all that extra party stuff. Is it actually worth checking out eBay for deals, or am I just wasting my time?

It’s an option. Though it can take quite a while, and you might not always receive the exact item you ordered.
I suppose if the price difference is significant enough, the wait might be worth it.
