I don't know if my taste is just off or what, but I could barely find any reviews for Dodger Stadium... but honestly, out of everywhere we've scouted, the vibe there felt the best—especially regarding the staff and the menu—so Dodger Stadium it is 🙂
Now I'm wondering which DJs you guys would recommend? It seems like there isn't much info on that either... 🤔
I've read plenty about cakes—it's always the same big names popping up—but I was wondering if anyone has actually tried the treats from Tea Mamut or Luke? I'm obsessed with sweet.cakes.and.more.. on Instagram... any info at all would be amazing :klap:

I can tell you exactly what I wouldn't recommend. 👎
I was at this party recently where Duplančić was in charge of the music, and honestly, it was a total disaster. It was so pathetic that we, as guests, actually had to start dragging other people onto the dance floor just to get things moving—all because the newlyweds were being such killjoys. At one point, he even just sat down, lit up a cigar, and handed the decks over to some other guy to take over. And wouldn't you know it? That guy wasn't any better. From what I heard, this is pretty much his standard move; it’s clearly not just a one-time thing.

I was honestly ready to go all out and buy every single pastry from Tea Mamut, but she annoyed me so much that I’ve decided to just grab some treats from a little boutique bakery in Santa Monica instead. Honestly, I just want those same small, thin, modern cakes. The woman and I went back and forth through literally twelve different emails where she nitpicked every tiny detail about my order, yet somehow she still couldn't give me a straight answer on the price. Her whole attitude is basically: "My pastries are irreplaceable, so the cost is irrelevant." Unbelievable.

Ugh, guys, I’m getting married in three months and aside from the basics—venue, band, photographer—I haven't actually booked anything else yet. Honestly, I'm not even feeling the hype right now. 🙂
So, here's the deal: It hit me last night that maybe we should just do a beach wedding (since our venue is in Los Angeles and we're basically right on the coast), and now I'm stuck wondering... does anyone know where I can rent one of those wooden wedding arches with the canopy for an outdoor ceremony?

How many people are we talking about?
Why not hit up Benedict in Bennington? Just rent the venue and handle the catering yourself.

Please, don't even go there. I’ve barely managed to wrap my head around the reality of this situation as it stands. 🙂 I was looking at these wedding photos from California and honestly, I’m so jealous; San Francisco just hasn't caught onto that whole laid-back wedding vibe yet.
Ben's is booked solid through the end of the year and part of next. I looked into some beachfront cafes, but they either won't rent out the space or their prices are absolutely ridiculous.
We're looking at about 110 guests, so I eventually caved and agreed to the Malibu location. My thought process was that if I put enough effort into the decor, maybe I could salvage the space and make the whole thing look somewhat close to what I actually envisioned.
Since we’re running low on space for any kind of chill hangout, we had to settle on a stripped-down version of our pirate party, so for now, it’s just the Amigos playing at Malibu. I’m just wondering if anyone here has experience with this spot—specifically, what’s the absolute maximum capacity for a group there?

Does anyone here actually have firsthand experience with them? I’m looking for the truth regarding their service, the event space, and the food quality.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I haven't been there myself, but my boyfriend went recently and he said the food was hands down the worst he's ever had. Honestly, I'd double-check that info somewhere else before you commit.

The girls who were asking about Twitter:
They won't rent out the whole venue because they don't want their regulars complaining about the noise 😵 They're only willing to set aside one section—probably outside—provided we cover the servers' hourly wages and all the drinks. I’m heading over there next week to hammer out the specifics and see if the math actually works, though I really hope he isn't planning on charging us full retail for every round.

Does anyone here actually know—like, from firsthand experience—if you really need a permit for these lanterns, or can I just fly under the radar?

It’s one of those rare finds where everything just clicks. They have this stunning glass-walled dining room that sits right on the water's edge, offering an incredible view, plus a lovely terrace and—thankfully—reliable parking if you're driving. Honestly, the price is almost laughably low; as far as I know, they're keeping it at $36 per person through the end of the year, which is practically a steal considering the sheer quality of the meal you receive.
Regarding those restaurants you all were mentioning around Malibu, if I’m being perfectly honest, the only one actually worth bringing up is Austin. That said, if you’re planning on grabbing a bite during July or August—right when they’re absolutely swamped with summer crowds—I wouldn't be surprised if you have a hard time snagging a table. As for San Antonio and the rest of that crowd, they're frankly overpriced, the seating is cramped and uncomfortable, and to put it bluntly, the food just isn't up to par.

I actually checked, and Nautic was packed for the 2017 season. They had a few Friday nights left available about a month ago, but since then? Yeah, those spots are probably long gone.

How would you even go about setting up a target range for the local crowd? We’ve still got that church right there in Manhattan—it’s basically our neighborhood. Honestly, thanks for the idea. If we could actually get the locals to agree on something, this would be the perfect spot. Thanks. 🙂

Please, let me know what they tell you if you end up calling them. We aren't planning on getting married until the very end of summer, so I really don't have the energy to be stressing over all these arrangements yet. An older lady mentioned to me once that they've hosted a few weddings there before, so I'm assuming the venue itself isn't an issue—it's more about finding out what their specific terms and conditions are.

Robin Hughes91 said:Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well.🙂 I’m dropping in here because I could really use some advice—if anyone is willing to share some ideas...
The plan is to tie the knot this December. I absolutely love the December vibe and that whole Christmas atmosphere. But honestly? I have zero interest in the traditional wedding circus—no formal reveries, no fancy invitations, no photo studio sessions, and definitely none of that band setup. I just can't deal with all those rigid procedures, the rehearsals, the bouquet tosses, and that endless "this happens, then that follows" sequence. It sounds incredibly stressful to me. We're looking at about 100 guests, so calling it a "simple dinner" feels a bit dishonest—it's still a big group. People say there should be music and food, but I have no clue how to actually pull it off. Should I be scouting out high-end restaurants or looking for private event spaces? I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed by the whole thing, so if anyone has a vision for how to do this without the headache, I'd be super grateful.🙂

We wanted to dodge all those traditional wedding tropes too, so we decided to just head to the courthouse and then grab lunch with our family and godparents. Just a normal lunch without all the formal courses. Then, for later that evening (or maybe the next day), we were thinking about renting out a venue. Apparently, there's a great spot right by the water in Manhattan (I don't know the area that well, so I'm not sure of the name, maybe something like "Cvrčak"?). We want to skip the classic seated tables and just do a buffet style where people can cycle through the food whenever they want, no pressure. We'd probably just hire someone to play some music, find a place with a nice atmosphere, and call it a day. No massive production, just short, sweet, and done.
Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a restaurant in San Francisco that can accommodate about 120 guests. We’re really looking for somewhere with a killer view, because we’d be willing to pay the premium to have an officiant come to the venue so we can handle everything in one single spot. Benicia is definitely off the table for us. Right now, the only place even on my radar is Pirate, so I wanted to see if anyone else had some better ideas.
