Hey there,

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for good cakes or pastries around the San Francisco area? Looking for something decent.
Thanks in advance

Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info regarding floral arrangements? I’m looking to rent some flower backdrops for a gathering outside the church, and I was curious if anyone here has experience dealing with local florists or knows what kind of pricing I should be expecting. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Where do you guys usually pick up cakes and pastries (not looking for wedding stuff) and what
is the price range like these days?
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark idea of what fireworks cost for a wedding?
If anyone has used a specific vendor before, I'd love some recommendations too.
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some honest feedback on Viacom's pastries. I’ve tried their cream cakes before and they weren't dry at all, which is a plus, but I haven't ventured into their full cake selection yet. I’m planning on ordering quite a few cakes for an upcoming event, so I’d love to hear any general recommendations or tips on where you usually go when you need to place a big order.
Also, does anyone have a lead on a good praline crunch cake? I checked with Zenith and Mediterranean, but they’re asking upwards of $3,000, which is just insane. Anything over $2,500 feels way out of my budget right now.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some wedding florist recommendations. I’ve been hunting around for three months now and, honestly, I am absolutely floored by the price tags I keep running into. Like, are these people selling petals or actual gold?
Any leads would be much appreciated.
I’m curious—which florists did you all end up going with? I’d love to know how the pricing looks for decorating the venue, the church, the reception hall, and all that. If anyone has any solid recommendations, I’d really appreciate it.
P.s. I happened to see some work done by Miss and La Perla Flowers recently, but am I crazy, or does their stuff seem a bit on the pricey side??

I was wondering if anyone here has ever used a photo booth instead of traditional wedding favors? It seems like such a blast for the guests, but I’m stuck on how to actually "force" everyone to participate. My goal is for every single guest to have a little keepsake to take home, so in this case, their photo would be the favor itself. I really don't want people heading home at the end of the night without a souvenir. Any ideas on how to pull this off? I'd love some suggestions! 😊

boldfalcon3 said:Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking in this thread for a while now and the info here has been incredibly helpful. We’re finally starting our own hunt, so I figured I’d jump in and share what we know, even though our big event isn't until Fall 2020. 😁 Here is a quick rundown of the latest intel we’ve gathered so far:
The Pirate Ship Restaurant - For 2020, they’ve bumped the Saturday price up to $50 per head (it was $48 back in 2019), and they require at least 140 guests. Fridays are $46 with no minimum. They offer catering $33 per person. This was actually our top pick, but unfortunately, it fell through because it felt way too cramped for our group of 150.
Palace Hotel - Saturday is $49 with a 160-person minimum. They have a great basic menu that you can mix and match with other options without extra fees. On Fridays, there’s no minimum requirement. Catering is $30 per person, held on the lawn out front. They provide their own table candelabras which, if I’m being honest, are a bit underwhelming and plain—but if you don't mind that, it could save you a decent amount of money...
Mr. & Mrs. Hall - The base menu is $39. It's a lovely room with really charming servers and an engaging MC. The guest minimum is 130. Friday pricing remains exactly the same.
Nautic Hall - They are still finalizing their pricing structure and won't have anything set until April; at least, that’s what they told us. I’m assuming prices will climb just like everywhere else. 🙄

As for the band, we haven't made a call yet. If anyone has any insight on current rates, I could really use the help. I found some old numbers posted on this forum, but since that data is two or three years old, I have no idea if those prices still hold water. Our "shortlist" includes Yellow Cab, The Cube, Tip-top, Volar, XXS, and Wrong Way for XXS. 🤔

For XXS, I know they charge $2,400, and the deposit is $400.

I'm curious, did you guys actually sign any kind of formal contract with the band? We put down a deposit and hashed out all the details regarding the music and everything, but we never actually saw a written agreement. It's left me feeling a little bit uneasy...

I’m having such a hard time tracking down contact info, and honestly, I have no idea which groups are actually any good. I would be so incredibly grateful if someone could point me in the right direction!🙏 🙏🙏

Thanks, I'll definitely check him out! 😊

Hey everyone, does anyone have a recommendation for a videographer? I’ve already got my photographer sorted, but I need someone else. Also, looking for a decent florist—ideally somewhere where the price actually matches the quality, you know? Heh. I’m getting married next October, and since I’m completely new to this whole wedding planning and organization madness, I’d be super grateful for any suggestions you guys might have. ☺
