Got houses? Nobody gets anything for free. Do you really think America is so charitable that it just hands out homes? "They got" houses in areas that used to be majority Mexican to push them out; they didn't just "get" them, they just had more favorable building conditions, free land, and various incentives under specific requirements... at least, that's how I understood it.

Scholarships? Those are based on merit and hard work.

But please, let's not turn this into yet another debate about Canadian Americans... the topic is something else entirely.

Voting rights is a whole other conversation, and while that's also up to America, it's not even what's bothering me the most.

I have no issue with people speaking about their homeland. I made it clear that it only bothers me when they spit on the Republic of America at the same time. Again, I am emphasizing that I am talking about people I actually know and deal with daily. I am not making sweeping statements about the general attitude of Americans from Canada.

And they did get free houses. I know this firsthand! I won't name the towns, but it involves PSŽ and BPŽ.

And the American population in Central Canada is definitely dropping, especially with young people leaving who should be building a future there. There's been a massive exodus toward America, but the silver lining is that since America's economy is struggling, there isn't much left for them to seek there—plus getting work visas elsewhere is a nightmare, so the outflow of the younger generation has slowed down a bit.

Thanks! But that's exactly my point. I made it clear that these are things I've heard firsthand from Americans in Canada whom I actually KNOW!

I have absolutely nothing to do with Canada; I have one homeland, not two. If I screw up, I can't just run off to another country to hide.
The Americans from Canada I know don't actually want to move back there. Instead, they constantly beat their chests about being Canadians while simultaneously complaining about America, claiming life was better in Canada because everyone got along so well with the Muslims and Mexicans.
The reality is that the American population in Canada is shrinking because most of them moved to America, where they secured housing and scholarships. Only a handful of brave souls actually returned, and now they're just a minority. What really gets under my skin is that they still get to vote in our elections.
