Look, it’s all pretty standard. That cop isn't under any obligation to hand you some official paperwork or whatever on the spot. I’ve seen so many people walk away thinking they dodged a bullet, only to get hit with a massive fine in the mail a week later...
My advice? File an appeal. Claim you were literally on your way back from getting your vehicle inspected when they pulled you over. If you're still a student, even better—use that. Honestly, just write down everything you can think of to make your case.
