I recently found myself in quite a predicament after being cited for failing to wear a protective helmet $333 while operating an unregistered motorcycle $667. I have just received the official decision along with the payment notice, confirming my liability and demanding settlement within eight days. As a college student currently living on a very tight budget, paying this fine is an immense financial burden that I simply cannot manage right now. While I am under no illusions and realize they likely won't waive the penalty entirely, I was wondering if there is any possibility of having the amount reduced if I were to file a formal appeal.
