Traffic violation procedures

So, I got pulled over a few days ago and blew a 0.14. The cops actually let me slide down to a 0.94, acting like they were doing me a huge favor lol. Anyway, my license got suspended for 3 days, but I already picked it back up today. I’m wondering—with the $1,000$667 fine and those 2 points on my record, am I looking at being without a license for 3 to 6 months next? This is my first time dealing with this and since I'm a college student, I really need my car for everything. If I write up an appeal explaining the whole situation properly, is there any chance they'd just let me pay the fine and take the points without taking my license away? Or is an appeal just a waste of time? Thanks!
