Media is ignoring CSR efforts

Yeah, I’m with you on that. Honestly, I’ve been saying for ages that there’s a massive lack of professionalism across the board here in the States, but journalism? That’s probably leading the pack in terms of incompetence.
So, why is it like this? One big reason is probably just the fact that everyone calling themselves a "journalist" is basically a generalist with zero specialization. It’s a joke. If you’re actually going to cover a beat, you need to actually *know* something about it, right? I don't think it's enough to just grab a couple of quotes from some Senator or, in this case, an economic analyst and parrot them back to the public. In my book, a real journalist needs actual insight and subject matter expertise to make sense of a story, but that kind of depth is pretty much non-existent in our media landscape.
Even after they finish their degrees, they just stick around in those same lazy roles. And that’s why we get what we get. Just mindless, low-effort news dumped out whenever it's convenient, which everyone else then just copies like a bunch of parrots. To me, that isn't journalism. Or look at the tabloids like the New York Post... just endless scandals and gossip. Is it because nothing actually good ever happens in this country?
