It feels like every major organization is looking for any excuse to spin off new commercial entities lately. Does anyone else feel like "optional opportunities" are usually just a polite way of saying a massive cash grab is coming?

I was wondering if anyone here knows if it's actually profitable to do electrical work in the US, how the billing usually works, and if there's steady demand for it right now.
