velvetmarlin24 said:I don't hate Muslims; I hate terrorists. Islam could be a great faith if it first managed to separate religion from politics. That’s the big thing. Beyond that, there are plenty of things within Islamic doctrine that really ought to be corrected.
It might surprise you, but I actually have some Muslim friends. And you know what? Religion is always the one topic that's strictly off-limits.
I should mention, though, that they are the exception to the rule—they've adapted so well to the society they live in. Some might say they aren't practicing "true" Islam, but there you go.
Personally, if someone in my family wanted to convert to any version of that faith, they wouldn't be welcome through my front door.
So, I see you don't mind their presence. One look at your last sentence tells me everything I need to know: you want to go in and start scrubbing Islamic doctrine. Furthermore, if your friends actually wanted to live up to their faith and started expressing it openly—like Catholics do—would that bother you? For instance, if you visited a Muslim country, would you actually follow their customs, or would you insist on clinging to your own? Would you actually disown your own son if he chose to convert to Islam? And let's be real: would you ever consider marrying a Muslim man? I'm looking forward to your answers.
