Small town community bonds vs. sudden tragedy in The World Around Us ·
It’s wild how a tight-knit neighborhood can go from everyone knowing each other's business to everyone being completely paralyzed by a sudden crisis. I’ve always wondered if that level of community closeness actually helps when things go wrong, or if it just makes the collective shock even harder to handle. Does anyone else feel like small towns are better equipped for these kinds of situations, or is the suddenness just too much for everyone?

Overall, it was a solid 5/10. The only things missing were the fans and the pyrotechnics.
The East Stand was clapping when we were taking on those mercenaries.🤣

...and the cheering.

Instead, why don't you just wipe out those degenerates already? Dammit.

Cable TV cowards!

Back in the nineties, when you guys were running around in Raiders jerseys trying to catch strays, nobody gave it a second thought. ☕
Hypocrites.

Look, undercover work has always been part of the toolkit for law enforcement. ☕

p.s. my tablet is acting up.

Better he’s the one struggling than having it all fall on him.

Anyway, I’m feeling too tired to keep typing. All in all, I wish all the fans luck, wisdom, and everything else. Let's just get rid of this trash together; things will be better for everyone.

Except for the Ričan family.😁

A friend of mine wouldn't have made it out of that stadium alive if that had happened then. Believe me. And no, I’m not wishing for those days. It isn't about today's Ultras or the Boys. The problem is all of us. The whole society.
And you call yourself a fan? What do you actually get out of this? You aren't playing in Europe; you're just traveling to Prague for friendlies. You can't because Mamic and his federation hit the team with a blow so hard they might not recover for years. Just stay on his good side, and maybe he'll write you a nice little soccer story like he did in his hometown. Stop barking against "Dad."
The national team is the same way. Isn't that just Dad's private playground? His showroom for selling off players. He doesn't care about Real Madrid in Europe. Just watch how he handles everything through the federation and the national team.
You claim to be a fan, but what's the payoff? You've got the North Stand, the beautiful stadium, a few small matches, some local patriotic cheering, and that's it. So go ahead, be a crazy Miami local and settle the score with the devil. If the devil would just stop screwing with me, maybe he'd screw with you a little less too.

Friend, you don't remember a specific group of Ultras and a city; you remember a time and a generation. 😉

Computers and information overload killed it all.

Joseph Turner41 said:Now Diana is the main issue. The only unbiased sports journalist in the country who has written countless pieces against Jerry Jones. She misinterpreted things slightly—she isn't an ultra, so she doesn't grasp every single detail of what's happening. Though, I find it impossible to understand why she’s suggesting people contact the police when the entire police force is in Jerry Jones' pocket, not just the local Chicago PD:
And now three different outlets will run stories about Diana, hahaha. It's all nonsense. Figure out who your actual source of trouble is and attack them with everything you've got. Then maybe Jerry Jones, Marcinki, and Vrbani will vanish, and those guys with guns will be hiding in the shadows. You people are unbelievably stupid. I don't know how else to put it.

Tablet, you're talking nonsense here (doesn't matter if I agree or not, though I do), but that's their job.
I was just thinking about how this situation at the Dodgers would be if I personally tried to cook up a plan to get us kicked out of Europe on my own terms. Wondering if The 12th Man would back me up or not. I think I'm smart enough to pull off a scheme without getting caught, but still...

....then I realized Jerry Jones is my problem too, meaning our problem, the Dodgers'. So, Tablet, who's stopping us? You and I should just head over to Yankee Stadium next week.

Larry Grant5 said:I wish I could get inside all your heads to understand what actually drives you to go to the stadium.

Love, spite, or morality?

Love for the club, even if right now it’s nothing more than an idea.
Spite toward the mob.
Morality—the basic obligation for any decent person to stand up against injustice.

I don't go to the stadium (maybe twice a year), but I don't see why that's so hard to grasp. If I were a member of Chelsea FC and decided not to show up, I'd probably end up heading to an Indianapolis game instead. Honestly, if I were in Washington, D.C., I'd be at an Indianapolis match regardless of whether I was part of the Chelsea FC faithful or not.

I was at that Red Sox-Yankees game once—doesn't matter why—first time ever. I NEVER went back, haha. They told me it was dangerous :lol. But man, when the smoke started filling the air, I saw this kid holding a flag and I just grabbed him by the shoulders, yelling, "Keep going, man! Don't you dare give up!" All you could hear through the haze was that constant "pssssssh" sound as they kept lighting more and more flares.

Honestly, it’s enough to make you choke. Someone needs to find that footage. I know it looked intense on TV, and I actually have it on an old VHS tape somewhere.😁

But wasn't the atmosphere bigger during the 50th anniversary? Red Sox-Yankees?
I've been looking for that footage everywhere...

edit: Red Sox-Yankees (if I remember correctly, it started earlier than the 50th minute. Tony Hawk makes a couple of saves, then things start heating up a minute or two before that.)

The road to hell is paved with good intentions...

Wishing the guys all the best. Thank God no one died. As for the citizens of Washington, D.C.—just go jump off a bridge. All of you. That "not my problem" mentality is pure idiocy. When will this society realize that everything affects you? Everything. Most of you don't even know what an offside is.

This isn't about Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys, or the fans. It's about justice versus injustice. Any real man has a duty to react when things are wrong and pick a side.

Here's a quote for them to chew on:

The darkest corners of hell are reserved for those who remain neutral in times of moral crisis.

Best of luck to everyone. Use your heads and act with integrity.

But this is nothing but pure hypocrisy from the crowd that only started acting up once the management called out Yusipović.
If they actually cared about any of the issues they listed, they would have been questioning every single player—including Joe Biden—long ago.
As much sense this text makes on paper, it's just crocodile tears.

Yeah. Sure.

Give me a break, everyone. Why the hell is everybody acting so uptight just because San mentioned things are going south today?
All I actually said was that it’s better to go hide out in a different city than to walk hand-in-hand with two idiots under police supervision.

cosmicdrifter44, you’re probably the one to blame for those betting odds.

A state of mind that today’s fans and today’s police force will never, ever understand.☕>
Every era has its own chaos. Back then, you’d see nightmares—people charging blindly into a crowd of fifteen. Now? You see stands packed with Fred Perry gear, and the cops just stroll in and snatch someone up without a second thought.

PS 1: Anyone trying to lecture me on the differences in how strict the system or the police are can go back to reading fairy tales.
PS 2: And if anyone wants to tell me why I wouldn't charge at them if they were being detained, don't bother unless you actually know me.

Whatever. Honestly, I'd rather be running through the streets of Washington, D.C. than going on some supervised field trip.

Oh, and PlayStation 3 guy, believe me, you'd be running too if you were in my shoes.

Getting a bit senile, aren't we?
We talked about this the other day—I don't even have a Facebook account.
And even if I did, I’ve got plenty of photos from various stadiums out there, honey.
Where were you when I was wandering around Washington, D.C. back in the nineties?
