I feel like every year, right before the season kicks off, some big-name pundit or writer decides to name a specific team as the "sleeper" or the most underrated squad in the conference. It’s become such a predictable cycle. They pick a program that’s been struggling or just sitting in the middle of the pack, and suddenly they're the next big thing.

Honestly, it’s hard to take these takes seriously anymore. Half the time, it feels like they're just trying to generate clicks by picking a team with a huge fanbase to stir up the discourse. I’ve seen so many "hidden gems" turn out to be massive disappointments by October, while the teams everyone actually feared end up coasting through the schedule.

It makes me wonder how much weight we should actually put on these preseason "expert" predictions. Do you guys think these rankings are based on actual depth and talent, or is it mostly just media hype trying to manufacture excitement for certain schools?
Navicular bone fracture in Health ·
Hey there,
I took a hit to my left wrist during a soccer game. A ball slammed right into my palm and I felt it immediately. I didn't see a doctor at the time—just figured it would pass—but it never did. This all went down back in August 2008. It wasn't until April 2009, when the stiffness became unbearable, that I finally went to see a doctor. Turns out, I had a fractured scaphoid that never properly healed. My surgeon was actually shocked I’d managed to deal with the pain for so long! He mentioned surgery might be the only way to fix things, though he noted it comes with risks. I went back for a follow-up about two or three weeks later, and he thought things looked slightly better since the stiffness had eased up a bit, so he sent me to physical therapy. Honestly? Not much has changed. I can move my wrist down, left, or right just fine, but upward motion is extremely limited. Plus, I can't put any weight on my left hand at all.
About a month ago, I started feeling this tingling sensation near my pinky, which I suspect is linked to that unhealed fracture. I'm currently in physical therapy right now.
Do you think surgery would actually improve my range of motion, and what kind of risks am I looking at?
Thanks in advance!
