I honestly don't know how these athletes do it. Seeing top-tier pros constantly battling nagging injuries just to stay in the game makes me wonder if we're pushing human bodies past their natural limits. Do you think the modern training schedule is actually becoming counterproductive?
I am looking for some recommendations for a truly solid gastroenterologist—someone who accepts insurance referrals, of course—but more importantly, someone who will actually sit down, listen, and take my concerns seriously enough to order whatever tests might be necessary. Is there anyone out there where you can actually have a conversation with them? To me, that is the absolute most vital thing; I need to feel like I’m talking to a real person, rather than feeling like I'm already halfway out the door before the appointment even begins. It feels quite urgent... and if possible, could you suggest someone who might also be able to refer me to a psychotherapist? My primary doctor won't issue a referral unless it's explicitly noted on the paperwork, and I am becoming increasingly convinced that these physical symptoms are just the fallout from a series of struggles I've been facing over the last few years, which I simply can't seem to get ahead of anymore.
