I was watching a documentary last night about mid-century Southeast Asia, and it got me thinking about how much our streaming algorithms trap us in a loop. It feels like every time I open an app, I'm served the same three or four historical settings: Victorian London, WWII Europe, or maybe the American Wild West.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good period drama, but there's such a massive void when it comes to seeing different cultures' histories brought to life with high production value. We see so many stories about the "Old World" or the "American Dream," but the elegance and complexity of other eras often get overlooked in mainstream distribution. It’s like we’re missing out on entire aesthetics and ways of life just because they aren't part of the standard Hollywood historical toolkit.

I really want to see more international stories crossing over into our local markets, especially ones that actually dive into the grit and glamour of different decades. It adds so much texture to what we watch. Does anyone else feel like they're hitting a wall with the same old historical tropes, or am I just being too picky about my subtitles?
Dealing with bronchitis? in Health ·
Hey everyone.

I looked for a thread like this but came up empty—sorry if I’m repeating something already posted.

Here's the deal: I was born in '93, so I'm 20. Back in 2000, I had surgery on my right lung at Klajić's Hospital here in the States because of a pneumothorax. Since then, I've been dealing with chronic bronchitis.

I'm basically coughing up yellow phlegm constantly. I saw my GP about ten days ago. She keeps prescribing Sumamed, which helps for maybe five days before the yellow gunk comes right back. Problem is, I live in a tiny town of about 10,000 people, so getting specialized testing like a spirometry is pretty much out of the question. I'm 6'0" and weigh about 140 lbs. Does anyone know why this keeps coming back or if there's actually a way to fix it? Thanks. 🙂
